I though about this before, and I wanted to discuss this at mittens but we never came to any conclusions.
This is what I had in mind. 12 categories and 2 bonus awards.

Art- edited
Background AND character art. Usually, games with nice backgrounds have nice character art as well, so to stop omni-voting, why not merge them into one. Everbody is saying that graphics isn't important in an adventure game, so why do we need two sepperate art catagories anyway?
The game with mind blowing backgrounds.

Animation- edited
Animations AND character art. Usually, games with nice character art have nice animations as well, so to stop omni-voting, why not merge them into one. Everbody is saying that graphics isn't important in an adventure game, so why do we need two sepperate sprite catagories anyway?

Music & sound- edited
No sound. The game with mind blowing sound and/or music. Music and sound has to be original (not ripped) and made for the game.

Puzzles-
The game with the best designed puzzles.

Programming- added
The game with wicked programming tricks. (could be non-adventure)

Character-
Merged with supporting character. One game can have several awesome characters, so you nominate the character, not the game title.

Demo-
Non-interactive and interactive, but in AGS (no video clips). There aren't many demos in the database, so make sure to add it. (SSH, isn't it too late to add games, since you can't fill in the date?)

Non-adventure-
Non-adventure or joke game.

Resources-
Sprite sheet, module, plug-in, open source, ect.

Horror/thriller-
Best serious game. (could be non-adventure)

Comedy-
Funniest game. (could be non-adventure)

P3n1s award-
Worst AGS game that should have never been released. A dark stain on the shiny AGS coffee mug.

AGS game of 2005-
The game with the most award becomes the Best AGS Game of 2005. If there are two games with both the most awards, then this catagory is skipped.

Lifetime achievement award- added
The person who changed AGS into something even better.

It's called common sense.

Q: How do you know those pill that make your penis longer don't work if you haven't tried them?
A: Common sense.

Intrigue At OakHaven Plantation is a scam. Be warned.

The Butler Did It! is a commercially AGS game like Clue. It was made and released beneath the AGS radar, so it's not very known.

The topic is a non-discussion, since
A. glumol and scramm were never made.
B. both projects died half a decade ago.

One could argue that one could make a hypothetical comparison, however others are then free say for instance hypothetically AGS could controll an ion canon in space.

Last, since this is the AGS board, a discussion of this matter (comparing AGS with other non-fictional programs) would be, sorry for using this word, biased.

Then yield thee, coward,
And live to be the show and gaze o' the time:
We'll have thee, as our rarer monsters are,
Painted on a pole, and underwrit,
'Here may you see the tyrant.'

I will not yield,
To kiss the ground before young Malcolm's feet,
And to be baited with the rabble's curse.
Though Birnam wood be come to Dunsinane,
And thou opposed, being of no woman born,
Yet I will try the last. Before my body
I throw my warlike shield. Lay on, Macduff,
And damn'd be him that first cries, 'Hold, enough!

Learn more about Jack and his fabrications.
Note how he is responsible for almost every bad media hype about video games, and that he hasn't won any cases agains videogames. The guy is just full of lukewarm air. Ignore him.

2) As a homage to Helm's one room game, Vaginas. His char was also nude.
3) Logical. I don't think there were an "official prison clothes" in the XVIIth century.
...

I'm super sorry for the off-topicness, but
2: the game was called Caverns. Vaginas was the briliant Feudian translation mode.
3: More important. Nudity was a sin in the european 17th century. That is why Native tribes and Africans (who did not cover up their entire bodie) were pittied and not seen as equal. It is most uncommon that the prisoner is naked. The guards would have offered him some clothes, were it but rags.
Love the style b.t.w. Very indylc.

Back to the matter.

easy and fun.

Maybe it was easy because you described the goal of the puzzle.

Twice did I tried to make a game using RPG maker sprites and twice did did I stop working on the games because of the lack of creative freedom. I searched everwhere, but couldn't find the right sprites I wanted AND that had the same artistic style.

The same goes for RON, but in that case you also need to take the episode storyline in consideration (read: played and finished every RON game to date).

1.Whats in a name. Would the Bloodhound Gang rock less if they would be called Puppy Club?

    2. You're thinking of an actors portfolio. Faces are important for (pop)artists, but not for composers. Are you sure that you want a picture? That guy from the Chemical Brothers doesn't even have all his front teeth. That's why you only see a few shots of him in the video clips.

    3. WHOLE PIECES! It's hard enough to judge an musician by a demo and you want to cut the songs even shorter? Also, do you really think someone would put a 30 second sample in his winamp playlist? Don't put too much songs on the site (5 is enough), but make them whole songs, even if they are 15 minutes long.

    4. No newsletter, just update your site once in a while.

    5. Do you think it's news worthy and related to your profession?

    6. Make a map called misc., junk or games.

    7. To pimp other sites! Also to show your intrests/relations (if you like me, you also might like this).

We had to think up a controversial topic for our presentation. I suggested Violence in computer games. The other guys didn't want that topic because it's a "non-discussion". Everbody knows that violence and games are as related as violence and religion.
So we chose Higher tax for SUV's instead.
