Rrrrright ... because an asian movie full of asian culture and language would do soooooo much better in an American culture than a version of the movie geared towards the market which it's being played in.

Good point!

Asian horror movies are more about ordinary everday people, so they have more of a ''this could happen to you'' feel. While with American horror movies always feels like ''just a movie''. Maybe because they spent all of the money on special effecs and boobs. Asian films are always filmed in a drifferent angle, and that's just how I like my coffee.
Most survival horror games are from Japan too.

Wes Craven brought the horror flic back to a-movie status, but nothing else has changed (except now-a-days you have the strong leading actres that instead of running and falling, try to face the fear. And we're suppose to go "How boundbreaking. We're in awe").

Has anyone played ObsCure? I only played a little bit but it was scary. It reminded me of alot of school horror movies like The Faculty.

It took me almost excactly half a year to finish The Dig. It never took me that long to finish an adventure game again.

I bought Fable for the PC last thursday. I finished it yesterday (sunday). This game supposed to be bigger then the xbox version.

It took me weeks to finish Max Payne 1. Max Payne 2 looks great and the physics enginge works fine and all, but what does it matter if I finish it within 3 days?

Unreal gave me a feeling that it was almost over. "This it the 6 chapter. Maybe one more chapter before the game ends." It turned out that I had still 50% of the game to go. Unreal 2 doesn't even have 6 locations.

You can not finish Zelda: The Windwaker in one weekend. You can finish Beyond Good & Evil in one weekend.

A friend of mine finished Halo 2 in one day. And that was his first try.

Are games getting shorter? And, if so, why?
Because developers are getting lazy?
Because EA wants the game finished before christmas?
Because all those fancy graphics take up all the space?

Or is it because I'm getting better at playing computer games, and it's just my imagination...

A game that moved me was Unreal. Man, you had to walk alot.
Seriously. You sometimes found datapads with logs next to dead humans.
You could find one of those dead body's with a log hidden next to a gigantic fortres. The log told about the guy escaping the fortres, and he just needed some rest to get his strengt back. He never woke up. And you had to go into that fortres!
Or the soldiers that crashed on the planet as well and tried to travel to a safe place. You tried to catch up. You never did, of course, because there were no safe places any more. It made me feel angry and lonely.
This and the torturing of the passive Nali really motivated me to kill the Skaaj. Unreal 2 and other shooters failed to show motivation.

This must have been the 4th time I wrote on these forums that I like Unreal.

Anime is so much-sided that it is useless to point out to Naruto only. I think that's a shame. Another example is Pokémon. In The Netherlands (my native country) a lot of people associate anime with Pokémon, which I really hate.

That would be a major step in the right direction compared to the dictionary.

I would like to see mi5 that explains that mi4 was just a bad dream. (custerd how could you say that about mi3. mi3 has the best dialogs)

I would like to see a sequal to quarantine 2: roadwarrior, but with more freedome like in the first game.

I would like to see loom 2 just to close the open ending.

I would like to see flight of the amazone queen 2 because they planned to make it. (also stereo jack)

I would like to see bla bla bla...

Side question.
Is fan fiction illegal too? Or only if it's really, really bad.

ideas: How about you mark letters on streetname signs. Or scribble in public phone books. Mark everthing with a tag so people know it's a clue.

Its hard to keep these things timeless. If someone finds a clue on a piece of paper he will keep it. The next player will find nothing. Also I don't think you would make friends with the locals if you paintspray a clue on a wall. They might remove it, so you have to paintspray it again (and get arrested for art crimes).

Maybe you should make it a one season contest. If you don't win, better luck next season.

I said: remove those stupid green dots that have no use while you're at it, Al_Ninio.
For some reason you keep forgetting that last bit. Very annoying.

If you want into a room you can bash in any wooden door with some dropkicks. Or smash in the window, go outside and smash in another window of the room you want into.

What does it matter if you have to save the world.
But you're not saving the world, you're playing an adventure game.

Instead of posting your opinion about my oppinion, post your opinion about the Revolution.

Vince Twelve his posts are super interesting. But I think you're just starting a good ol' flamewar. Prove me wrong.

Are you trying to provoke me, boy?

Get a life.

You don't have to buy them, you know.Ã,  They were made for the (probably) thousands of people who really do want another version of these games.Ã,  Just because you don't want them doesn't mean that they don't make somebody happy. Plus they are making a new Mario game... for the Revolution and the DS anyways...
You completely missed the point. Instead of cashing in on the old classics, create some new classics. Even 2pac still releases new songs, and he is dead!

QuoteThose bastards!Ã,  They remind me of the complete asses down at my local used games store who refuse to just GIVE me all their old Nintendo games.Ã,  I think the only reason they wont do it is because they want money.
They had to buy those games first. And the profit that they make for selling a game is not even enough to buy two happymeals. They are the middle man. Nintendo is the top dog. There aren't even production costs for old software (except for the guy you have to pay for pressing Ctrl-C Ctrl-V). All the the money they would make if you buy and download a game goes straight to Mario's side pocket.

Quote
Seriously, I don't know of a lot of companies who would just give away a product that they could sell.[/qoute]
Durex gives away free test samples, McDonalds gives you a new milkshake if you drop yours, ect.
quote] Not to mention that most of those games aren't even Nintendo's to give away.Ã,  Do you think Capcom or Konami would be happy if people could just freely download the games that they made? (Well, download LEGALLY...) There are liscense fees to be paid.Ã,  We wouldn't just be downloading them for free, Nintendo would be paying for them.
And you don't even know the price.Ã,  It could end up being like ten bucks for 50 games... who knows what pricing model they're going to use.Ã,  Just hold off your anger until you know more.
Between 10 and 50 clams? Now I'm realy getting angry. $50 was the full price 15 years ago.
We are talking about playing first and second generation games on a fifth generation consolle. This isn't a service for gamers, buy a cold bussines plan for easy money. Sorry if I don't share your enthusiasm.

What about the companies that are now belly up? Will Nintendo make them free to download, since those are not their games in the first place? You can bet your 100 gold coins they won't.

QuoteOh, and again... no one is forcing you to buy them.Ã,  Nintendo is offering a service that a lot of people will be interested in, not forcing it upon us.
But IF you want to play those games, you are forced to do what nintendo wants. You can't negociate the price or go to another seller.

QuoteOh, and on the subject of sex toys.Ã,  I wouldn't write it off until I've tried it, but the remote control's dimensions make it look a little uncomfortable.Ã,  I'd much rather try out the sleek PS2 controller.Ã,  That is... if it were anatomically possible...
I said that it LOOKED like a sextoy, not that you should use it as one.      sicko!

You download AGS.
Study the manual & demo.
Think up a story.
Write the story and dialog in advanced.
Draw backgrounds and animations.
Program the game.
Ask M0ds to do your music.
And after some testgames that you will not release, you upload your game on the internet and post a link here.

Some years ago I would never say something bad about Big-N, but I'm tired of always backing people up and getting nothing in return. It makes me feel cheated.

... (I showed the video to a colleague, a woman who's definitely a non-gamer, and she was sold on it instantly.) ...
My mom and dad hate games. They are the people that never played videogames before and it's most unlikely that they will buy a Revelution.

You have to pay to download those nes/snes games. Nintendo is squeezing the last dew out of their 20 year old games.
Considering how great those games are, a little fee seems perfectly reasonable.
As for the controller. It seems interesting, weird but interesting.
('< Ã, im still big, its the games that got small.

I'm also tired of Nintendo's recycled-game-buzines. They're rereleasing Mario World on the GBA, they're rereleasing Super Mario Bros. on the GBA. FUCK YOU, Nintendo! I finished those games before I had pubes. I don't feel like buying them again. Make me happy and make a NEW Mario game for the gba.

Nintendo could let people download their games for free. EVERYBODY would buy a Revelution if they get free games. But there are 3 reasons why they won't.
1: They want money
2: They want money
3: They don't want to overload the servers. (They could do it like HotU, one download at a time and an ultra slow downloadspeed, but they want money)

... Think a deep space 3d game where the manouvering of the ship is relative to the 3d pointer plus depth... quite an unreal experience I'd expect. think

Only problem, I think this is going to break a whole lot, and hands are going to get tired.
Airplanes, helicopters, cranes and cars all still have wheel and joystick controll. You dont need 3d controllers to play a 3d game on a 2d tv. (Did Nintendo say that they were making 3D view games, were you have to wear 3D glasses? Or was that something else. Memory too vague.)

Those stearingwheels for computers look great, but nobody ever got a faster racing time by using a stearing wheel with rumblepack instead of using a d-pad.

My oppinion is free. And you are free to ignore it. Do what you think is right, I or InCreator are not going to cross you.

Another thing. Not related to ANY dots. Dream seqences usualy have only blurry sides. This is good, because walk-behind areas in ags are hard to define with blurry lines.
#699
If you can't handle critisism, you shouldn't have posted in the critic lounge.

You can get rid of the "yellow dots" by making the black lines dark gray. And remove those stupid green dots that have no use while you're at it.
#700
You mean the yellow dots in the crossings of the black lines? They are optic illusions.

Or do you mean the green dots in the field that have no effect and thus you should have removed then.
