WOW, Edmundo! That's a great game.
It makes me wonder why you don't make more games.

RPG Maker came out on the PSX.

So there wasn't a single AGSer at the meeting in amsterdam?
* jet  is sad to be a dutch AGSer
If I knew that I would have gone. Although getting back would have been a massive problem.

Remember Syberia? You can't pick up the muddy plank in the water because it's filthy, so you have to let "special Momo" (CHO-CHO! Easy now Momo) do it for you. And this was one of the best adventures that year!

Look I'm only 11 so i probaly wouldnt know but if lucasarts did release another adventure game like CMI than there would be 2262 users on AGS willing to buy it not to mention the other 200 adventuregame site users out there.

I don't think that's enough to make a game profitable. I heard rumour that half of all the software is pirated. That's why I like indie games; free in inseration, made in free time and the costs are...FREE.

Ron Gilbert is holding a meeting in Amsterdam... TOMORROW! (Thursday May 5th)
It's a little short by day, but since tomorrow it's the Dutch Day of Freedom, you'll have no excuse for not being there because it's a school/workday.

Plans are not set yet, but the time and place could be at 7 or 8 on the Leidse-plein or Rembrandt-plein. Read the Grumpy Games tomorrow for Exact plans!

Sadly, I myself can't be there because I made other plans. But things might change...

There is no crime in asking the same question for the second time. It's just annoying if someone asks what's the best ags game for the sobbing 14th time. So members post a link to the original post with the comment that it's been done before. And that makes them feel realy realy smart for a few seconds. (we all know Ace Quest is the best game ever made, anyway)
You don't have to search the forums every time you want to start a topic.

Now, a dedicated server would solve the problems. But also creates some finacial problems.
You know, this forum needs some 1337 HAX0Rs that can create some illegal cyberspace for AGS. Nah...

The awnsers so are predictable!
"Oh I better chose this one, because the other one is what a girl would do".
This quiz is just as crappy as one of those personality quizes in those teen magazines.

I once stubled on a gender quiz that was good. It had questions that didn't involve gender clash clicés. Questions like what shape you prefered and wich p0rn name was better (Black Jack or the slotmachine). The goal was to guess wich gender you were. It guessed mine correct (78% certaincy male).
Sadly, I can't remember the website anymore.
It had to do with some research department on a university. Very sientific.

Having jury members that have to chose games and explain why it should be in the best game catagory and not in the best graphics catagory is a good idea. It would stop the copy paste voting.

On the other hand it's just a silly award ceremony. Nothing of importance in real life.

Cyberpunk indeed. It reminds me of Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller but totally different.
Unused fire extinguisher anyone?

He actually is the ruler of his own country, the Vatican (of course, its population is less than 1000 people, every single one of them male, but it is a country, nonetheless)

Hey, don't forget the nuns.
You can't have a good party without nuns. Bachelor party that is.

So you CAN walk but NOT in the boat.
Maybe the walkable area path you drew is too thin.
#776
Hotspots? You mean walkable areas, right? If not, then you mixed up hotspots and walkable areas in the editor, and that would be the problem.

I asumed that the character is completely stuck and doesn't walk when you click on the screen with the walk cursor. Correct?
Did you make sure that the coordinates for NewRoomEx are on a walkable area?

It's a bit hidden. Look under GUI in the manual.

QuoteCustomized Text Windows
If you want to add a personal touch to the standard white text-boxes which display all the messages during the game, you can create a border using the GUI Editor. Create a new GUI, and check the "text window" box for it.
The element will be resized to about 1/4 of the screen, and you will see 8 pictures - one in each corner and one on each side. These are the border graphics. You change the graphic for a corner in the normal way.

In the game, the corner graphics will be placed in the respective corners of the text window, and the side graphics will be repeated along the edge of the window. To tell the game to use your custom text window style, go to the General Settings pane, and check the "Text windows use GUI" box. Then, enter the number of the GUI which you used.

You can also set a background picture for the text window. In the GUI editor, simply set a background picture for the GUI element. The graphic you specify will not be tiled or stretched in the game; however, it will be clipped to fit the window. You should use a graphic of at least about 250x80 pixels to make sure that it fills up the whole window.

To set the text colour in the window, simply set the Foreground Colour of the GUI and that will be used to print the message text in.

1. make sure the character is standing on a walkable area by pressing [ctrl+A] in the game.
2. did you (accedently) turned off the walkable area in the local or global script? (RemoveWalkableArea (int areanum))

Quote from: Bhup on Wed 20/04/2005 11:54:13
Do you mean the walkable area has to be the same colour. Say blue in all rooms?
Bhup
no.
