That was what I was missing. I guess I missed that particular combination. Thank you!

Yeah, that doesn't help me unfortunately.
Spoiler
I thought early on that I had to make the hard candy sticky, but I couldn't figure out how. I'd appreciate a more straight answer :)

I think I only have one mess left, and I'm pretty sure I've figured out the next puzzle, but I'm stuck getting something I need.
Spoiler
Where do I get bait to catch the fish? I'm carrying candy, chewed gum, the fishing pole, a paperclip, a coin and the nail file.

Hi

Spoiler:
Spoiler

Have you talked to the army stores man and also about sword that is on display?

Thanks, I hadn't tried that particular item/verb combination. It didn't stand out as relevant.

I'm stuck

outside the theater. Petulia doesn't want to talk to me anymore, I can't get a rehearsal pass ("come back later, kid"), and I'm told I don't have enough evidence to get a police warrant.

Any hints?

Have you opened up the StarGate controls yet?

Thanks, that's all I needed to complete the game. I didn't think of going back there this early in the game :-)

Hey JKohen!

Hope you're enjoying the game despite being stuck... here are some pointers...

The Flying Saucer needs to be powered up... maybe by a crystal and something from the van...

I'm enjoying the game, no worries :-)

I found the outcrop with your directions. It looks like I don't have anything I can use there yet.

I read about

the outcrop,

but I can't find it. I can't get to any new places, either by lack of items or my inability to use them in the right order.

Help appreciated :-)

I couldn't figure out the controls. The eye and grab actions don't seem to give any response, and the power action doesn't seem to have any effect, other than having the character "ROAR". I saw some snowballs, but I can't do anything with them. It definitely needs more polish to be playable.

I've just finished the game and I really enjoyed it. It is a great start for a game series. The animations and the backgrounds are beautiful, and the voice acting is top notch. For the most part the puzzles were very enjoyable: I only got stuck once, and I only had to resort to trying all items on every other item once. Good stuff. I'll be looking forward to the next games!

Just one request, please get rid of the animation preloading in future episodes. It's a bit of a turn off when launching the game for a quick session.

Thank you guys, that's the step I was missing. I'm almost sure I had tried it earlier, maybe I had to trigger some other action before it would work. I've finished the game, thanks for making and sharing it!

You need something to fill it in

(an empty bottle would be fine) and something else â€" like as if you take fuel from the tank of a car

Thanks! I supposed I needed to do that, but neither alien has an item that can help me do that. I've looked around to no avail. Could you tell me what I'm missing?

or

how to get the key from the grate. I think I need to bend the antenna for the latter, but no idea on how to do that.

I love the graphics, it seems very atmospheric. I never played the original, and based on the descriptions I probably wouldn't play it, but I'm definitely playing this version. Thanks for bringing this game "to the masses" :-)

Ali and jkohen: Have you tried utilizing the "boost" ability?

I have, not really know what effect it has. It's impossible to stop the bar at the right time. I get like a microsecond. My reflexes are generally very sharp, so it's definitely a matter of speed (or you're excellently trained in this game, Sir :) )

Quote from: hofmeier on Fri 17/02/2012 12:43:08
But this suggestion only applies in a universe where the game operates at the same speed on all machines. Hey, jkohen: are you saying the gameplay in the trailer is slower than it is on your machine?

Anyway, thanks for playing the game everybody!

Thanks for making it!

Yes, the gameplay in the trailer looks pretty reasonable in comparison to what I get here. If you don't believe, I could try to record a video, but I haven't done this on the comp before.

BTW, I'm running the games under Linux. It hasn't given any problems with an AGS game in the last couple years, though, and I've played dozens to say the least.
#18
Is anybody playing this?

I tried, but the minigames are way too fast for me. It's very hard, in some cases practically impossible, to get time the action right. I just watched the trailer on YouTube, and the difference in speed is quite obvious.

I would love to get an updated version that's playable by humans :-)

Thanks, but I had already guessed that was the way to solve. However,

I don't know where to play the recording of the fire alarm to get the concierge's attention. The main character says "not here" everywhere I try to play it. Where should I do it?
