Libc6 2.5 is entering Debian/unstable today, so the latest AGS for Linux should finally work there as well!
#122
Thanks for the heads up, and I certainly hope we enjoy it, too!

I speak Spanish, but should I wait for the English release in order to get the improved music and sound effects?

Mirrors, please?

I've never been able to download files from MegaUpload (all slots allocated to "my country" are always used), and furthermore now it says that all the available bandwidth is currently reserved for our premium customers.

Please consider one of the game-oriented alternatives offered in this forum, rapidshare.de, or something similar.

I just wrote a cool Perl script to ease dubbing your translated games.

If you decide to add voices to your game after it's been translated, I'm told the translations stop to work, or you can't easily create dubs, or your pet dies. This script automates the process of merging old translations with new translation templates containing dub indexes. It also translates your speechref files, for easier reference.

Let me know what you think, or if you find bugs or something nasty.

Please see it at the Spectral Adventures forums.

PS: It won't resurrect dead pets.

Of course, yours works, so thank you very much!

Hey, I'm flattered. That's a pretty big area if you think about it. I think most of it falls in the ocean, though. I heard dolphins are very clever. Do we have dolphins here? I think not, fortunately.

By the way, Argentina lies South from the Ecuator :)

Hi, I created a small Perl script to add audio indexes to game translations. You can find it at the Spectral Adventures forums.

Now, reading the full thread I have a better idea... if you could use AGS's autonumbering to create a blank translation, then it would be trivial to use Perl to fill-in the blank stub with the translated text you already have. I think this would be more useful and give better results, as the script wolud know what character is saying what (and, LW, you know why this would be very interesting), wouldn't it?.

Can we try that?

Still lost...

I think you're right about the red herring. The hints file mentions that the "true password" is "hidden in front of your eyes."

I've tried one of the many ways of writing what's on the poster: ATTA GCCG TATA to no avail. I'm not trying each possible combination from each poster, either.
I also hope the password isn't 191 Cs, which is mentioned in the computer's POST routine's output: on=(191Cs), because i'm not typing them. 0x11 (17), ch 32 (a space) and 0xa4 (164) don't tell me much, either.

I also tried thinking of less literal meanings for "in front of your eyes..." The heads on the roof don't yield any information, nor did trying to play with the suit's helmet.

Anyone found out if the hole in the wall serves any purpose?

This game needs one more megabyte memory.

I'm stuck near the end and I couldn't find any hints or any other information about the game whatsoever.

I also was wondering...

... whether it's important or not to pick up both hands. I happen to have trapped only one of them, and can't figure out how to get the second one, although I suspect I should have set the trap when both were on the screen.

Thanks!

I grow weary of talking to the groundskeeper and trying to discuss topics that may interest him-please help me so I can get on with this most  enjoyable game.  Know I will feel the fool when  you tell me.

We can hardly help you if you don't tell us where you're stuck. I suggest you read this thread from the beginning, so you see how to put more useful questions. You might even find the hints you need.

To play the game in German, run winsetup.exe and select German or "Default" as the language.

Maybe you could make use of  a plague servers. These are servers wich are used to compile and make rpm's or deb files for a specific linux distribution.

I agree that your solution would be really nice, but it were me compiling closed-source, I wouldn't upload it to a plague (sic) server where someone else could decide to keep a copy of my source code without me knowing.

For what is worth, versions 2.62, 2.70 and 2.71 work *perfectly* on Debian. 2.61 works pretty much all right, except for MIDI which needs an external sequencer to play MIDI, but this is not a fault in the Linux port, and I understand I could set up a software sequencer with Timidity, if I really wanted to.
#137
Yes, that is the case. Install a 32-bit chroot inside your 64-bit system and you'll be fine. I guess Ubuntu has tutorials or automatic procedures to this end, just like Debian/AMD64 has.

Edit by strazer: No need to quote the whole post directly above yours!

I also have a problem. Once I have woody distracted then my second shot always goes into the bushes.  You said I need "interdisciplinary assistance" which I don't quite understand.  Please clarify.

How do I get Woody to play a match?
[close]

Quite a few of you are stuck with Woody, so here it goes...
Spoiler

Practise at the driving range when Woody is in it. Aim for a "perfect" shot, i.e., stop the shoot power bar at the starting point. If nothing happens, then maybe you need to mingle with Woody's stuff first. Perhaps Bimbo can tell you something about his bag?

To snatch a ball from the bag or to put it back in it, read on:

Wait until Woody is looking away after he's driven a ball. Just a typical A Three-headed Monkey Behind you puzzle.

With this is it possible to transfer works from a Windows AGS? I would like to be able to transfer my work to my Ubuntu PC

This is a port of the AGS run-time, not of the editor.

That being said, the AGS editor runs alright with Wine, so you should be fine (with some minor caveats). As usual, make backup copies, etc.
