If I may ask, while I reaaally love this game, I didn't quite get the motivation of trying to

cure/remove the curse by letting it work faster

I'm not too sure myself.

I guess I was thinking that when nature doesn't change with the seasons, the princess does. When nature is changing, the princess doesn't.

I hope that makes some sort of since.

It sounds like your stuck or don't understand the controls. You could listen to the rat some more, or ask for hints on the forums.

Thanks for the interest everyone

Thanks for the comments. I'll definitely release an improved version of A Woman For all Seasons.

I would like to give credit since I didn't really have time to make a sequence. A Wizard's birth concept was inspired by the book, The Two Princesses of Bammare. Most of the spell casting script was from the Gesture Module by Besh. The music was taken from the Contribution thread by Theatrx.

This was really fun. I would encourage this sort of activity more often. I'm sure making a lot of short games can improve your skills. I've learned a lot in a week.

This module does not allow walking and talking. Has anyone found a solution to this?

You should probably put an image for us to critique to, but this is my technique.
  1. Draw an animation using traditional techniques from a tutorial like this one with a light blue pencil.
       http://www.karmatoons.com/drawing/drawing.htm
  2. Trace in a thin sharpie and scan.

  3. Run a threshold filter in gimp or photoshop on auto.

  4. Fix lines and color in whatever program you want

There you have an easily done and animated sprite.

Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny
Thanks alot. It was a lizard, not a mouse. I'll be happy to play again!

I remember playing a game a long time ago. The main character could shape shift from a human, a rat, or a monster. It was played in first person and is for the pc. The intro has him in prison and the gaurd teasing him about being great. He kills the gaurd as a monster and escapes as a mouse. There is a long point in a cave and some magician telling you about a quest. Does anyone know what it's called?

Idea - Alan v.Drake. More original than blood splatter, and does pretty well at giving horror
Technique - pilferinloot. Interesting style. Reminds me of Edward Gorey
Usefulness - Mad. I could see myself trying to escape from this room.

Good job!

I once did the opposite.

Why would I want to use these graphics for my game?

I spent about half a year upgrading the graphics, but I feel it's worth it to capture the mood I want. If you have the time and skill, it's worth the extra effort. This is just my experience. Some definitely draw better in a low resolution.

I need beta-testers for my game. Send me a PM if you're interested. I'll upload pictures in a bit.

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Dead Pixels

Reminds me of Lima. There's an internet cafe, a chullo, and the music sounds like it came out of a disco-techa. I eventually beat it. An ok game.

General Discussion / Unknown music genre

I'm trying to Identify a genre of music suitable for my game. The game focuses greatly on Celtic mythology. I want something instrumental and classic. Is the music in Ben Jordan 3 what I'm looking for? What would that be called?

Hey Duke. Looks great. Sorry I didn't have more time for your project but I'm very glad you've found a scripter more suited for the task! My best wishes.

Advanced Technical Forum / Blue Cups
Sat 20/03/2010 14:46:47
My monitor turns off randomly and the computer has to be restarted to get it to work again. The last time this happened, I pushed alt-tab and control-s to save the game. I restarted the computer and now all the sprites are blue cups for the game I was working on. I tried using the backup sprite set and backup game file and neither of them worked. Any other previous mad games work however.

Here is what it looks like.

The culture of North America

I always thought this would be a cool Quest for Glory game.

I've updated the animation taking in mind your suggestions. I think these improvements do help. The cape doesn't look like it's being pulled in so much as shredding, which is the effect I wanted. It looks a bit like it's going through a wood chipper though.

Do these to characters merge well? Are there any effects I could add to liven this animation up? Thanks.

I believe I used the same picture of the dungeon for my Tales of Chickenry Game :). Looks like fun.
