I have a strange problem. I am making my game were there is a puzzle during the whole game with pieces added as you go along. The Puzzle is working fine, but you can not click on anything in the game. Also if I add a puzzle piece in the middle of the game and click on anything, it shows the error "SetObjectPosition: Invalid Object Number" and cites this portion of the script:
Code: ags
line 207      jigsaw_pixelperfectobject.X = spritedetectx;

The puzzle is in one room separate from the others.
I hope I've made my problem clear.

It would be nice to have the renumber speech function to add speech numbers to the old list so line numbers are not messed up.

I am working on an Adventure game to be released by Halloween called On All Hallows Eve based on the book by Grace Chetwin and need voice actors. The Game is now beatable but there is still a lot of work to do especially with cutscenes. You will not get paid for this project. But as I said, all lines must be done by Halloween.

Possible Characters are:

Meg Wilson: A twelve or thirteen year old girl. She is proud and quick to anger. Must be a British accent. This is the main character and has about 300 lines.

Audition Lines:

   1. Cheek! He needs a good punch in the nose.
   2. Who are you? What are you?
   3. Don't! Listen, you are supposed to be the senseable one. Don't trust them.

Sue Wilson: Meg's ten year old sister who gets along with everyone easily. Also British with not as many lines.

Audition Lines:

   1. Stop it! Stop it both of you! Your frightening me!
   2. I don't like this place. You know what? I think something bad is about to happen.
   3. Oh Meg! They aren't I bet! She's a queen! And their her subjects.

Kenny Stover: A fourteen year old bully who flunked sixth grade. Is usually angry or jovial. He lives in New York with an American accent and will have much fewer lines than Meg or Sue.

Audition Lines:

   1. Tell you what Wilson! Why don't you go back to where you came from! You don't belong here!
   2. Ha Ha! How bout that! It prickles like the pins and neddles I got it my legs!
   3. What do you know? One minute my hand goes right through it, the next it grabs on to you like it was a solid one of us.

Greylin: A mystical woman who is a Queen of an enchanted forest. Very wise. Must be Brittish as well.

Audition Lines:

   1. I am Greylin of the Birchen Tree, and these are my friends.
   2. Just, The Wood. It is any and every wood that ever was, and ever will be. Save for one differnce.
   3. Very well. Four of you came in here this night. Is it truly your wish that only two of you leave?

Mother Bauldry: Tom's mother who is caring and hospitable. A motherly figure.

Audition Lines:

   1. Well! Sit down. Suppers done. You like stew?
   2. Times I've put on my coat and gone out there to look for him, and somehow somethings always got in my way.
   3. Mother Bauldrys the name. Just leave them dishes be. Your a REAL good gal.

If you would like to apply, please send the sample in mp3 wav or ogg to joelphilippage@gmail.com

Well I have not gotten as many auditions as I would have liked to so Auditions are now open until otherwise stated.
The Part for Tom is taken.

My favorite was The Search for Aladdin's Lamp as the lamp could turn out to be so many different things. Chivalry is not dead is the closest game I can think of in this style.

That's looking pretty much right. Thanks for the tips. I'm guessing they made it in 3d, which I might do.

Well I've been using hand drawn animation for my game. What I could do is just invert the line color of an animation and then add a glow effect.

It doesn't look as cool as The Dig but I shouldn't expect too much and this would be much quicker. Any other Ideas?

In the game, The Dig, the ghosts of the aliens have a weird animation effect. Does anyone know how this could be done?

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I'll try to find one that suits my game best. I think I like the mind space Idea. Photo's would work well but this is more of a traveling game. Once you've been to a place, you rarely go back so Ideas would have to be recorded automatically. The Idea of playable memories might work well too. I could have the character go into the memory of her on a plane to New York, then you could somehow pull the memory of the statue of liberty out of that memory. I'll keep thinking about it.

I'm making a game based on a book were the player at certain parts of the game, will invoke a memory to find the courage or the wisdom to get out of situation. Also later in the game, the player can transform the main character into someone else you remember using a magical artifact and another tool that points the direction to a place you remember. For instance, the player needs to get through a cave but it's very dark. The character can imagine herself as the statue of liberty and have a torch to light the way. If you get lost, you can use your magic compass to point the way. I hope I'm making sense but the main problem I'm having is how to express memories in an interface.

The first job is taken but if you would like to make a pixely kid like this one

just download this folder and recolor or make your own to look like a kid wearing a halloween costume. you will get a credit in my game and have my thanks.

Wow looks awesome. I see how adding good proportions and having a good pre-design could help. Do you mind if I try again with your outline or do you think it would be better if I tried my own?

Probably about a 6th Grader. Any suggestions on making her look younger? I'm basing it off of a book so I got some Ideas from the cover art.

This is a sprite for a quick side project I'm working on. I've been trying different styles for a while. Any criticisms for this one?

(Update)
I've gotten a new site, some more screenshots of the game, and an update on the progress of the game.
(I think the screenshots are fail-safe now.)

I don't think Rosa's character portrait has as much personality as the old one and doesn't look much like her. I'd like to see it closer to the original, but that's just my opinion.

I've tried hand painting it and using more purples behind the trees. I redid the layout some because I was trying to get it sort of like the tree in Kings Quest V. I like the effect much better, but the grass does not look quite right. Also, the path was very noisy so I tried smudging it some.

Any Ideas to make it a bit nicer?
