This is my first use of the LucasArts GUI. I'm more of a Sierra man myself so, it is a bit different for me.

yeah, the sky is kind of dead...I will fix that.

The background scrolls. There are 7 houses total. The town will be a little longer...about 11 buildings.

thanks!

Hey! I love my overweight Italian plumbers and all of that frolicking they do!!

First off GBA rocks!

Second. I don't think adventure games will make their comeback in the commercial world. If they ever do make their comeback it will be through the work of people like us. As Sylpher pointed out, people like free stuff. I must admit though, I don't really see things moving much beyond where they are now.

Third: HAM!! There is a development system called HAM for the GBA and it is pretty easy to use. I was displaying a bitmap on the screen after playing with the language for about five minutes. (Which is more than I can do in C++ and I've been messing with that for a year). I think it is much more likely that CJ could port a AGS interpeter to GBA (via HAM). With a ROM/cartridge Flasher thingy we could start selling adventure games.

Fourth: GBA Doesn't support 320x200...it's 240 x 160...

I've been working on this all day. I really have no clue what the game is going to be about. I drew the character a few weeks ago and decided to give him a mate and a town. This is the "residential" area. Next I will work on the "downtown" area. You can switch between the two characters on the screen (like in DOTT). The GUI is mostly a modified FOA, it turns pink when you select the girl.

Any story ideas or suggestions are welcome. The characters are named Jack and Jill and everone else in the town bounces...meaning they have no legs but wobble/bounce around. Jack and Jill are supposed to be the abnormal-hero-kids...or something....

junc Bloody brilliant!! Did you make those? Those rock my world and have totally inspired me to continue with this. I'm afraid I might like them better

No, I didn't make them...I wish. That NoJoy guy just makes all of the most kick butt things from my childhood. He did a great smurf set in the same RPG style. I always meant to do something with those and the GI Joe ones...

I love the red carpet shot! Keep em comin', this is great stuff. Personally I like your versions more than the NoJoy ones. I think you could make a killer adventure game with them.

I was having problems with this site just now...but I really like it. Cobra was always the coolest anyway.

Perhaps this will inspire or help:

Zartan and the Dreadnoughts...Storm Shadow...

You didn't change Flint's...area.

If you DON'T make a game you should at least make animations for all of these and release them as a sprite pack or something. I will host them! ;D

I think they look great. The blocky style rocks.

I SOOO loved the Crimson Twins and Crimson guards. You should do Destro and the Baroness. Oh, and doesn't one of the twins have a scar...you should try to add that if you can. Xamot was the one with the scar? Is that right.

Cool stuff!

It's a scam. Completely worthless.

Just go to the website.

TRIPOD. Popups.

How can someone that doesn't have the simple ability to register and pay for a website possibly promote you any better than you yourself could? I just don't have faith in someone that feels the need to use free webhosts and claims that they can help you. Why does he have an AOL address? Why not KidAntrim2001@KidAntrim.com? This is just my opinion and I may be totally off...but, it's how I judge people that "like my music".

What track of yours does he/she like? Has he/she seen you perform live?

Dude, send me Fifty bucks, I will put you "on a CD". Eh, sorry I just get so sick of people sending me emails like that.

One more thing...did it come via MP3.com or your personal email from your website or something? If it's MP3.com they let bulk emailers spam you from it. I HATE MP3.com...

Seriously though, save the fifty bucks and spend it on Flyers, blank CD's, a CD burner, or custom stickers, whatever...self promotion is where it's at. Worry about your home town first, then expand.

Just thought you guys might want to see this:

Hi Junc,
Unfortunately this is a known problem. Link mode works fine under
DOS-based Windows (95,98,ME), but seems to break under XP. I forget if
it works or not under 2000 :)

At any rate, my first priority at the moment is Billy 4, but I'd like to
have a new, working, UDLP2 Shell ready for the launch, so we'll see how
that goes.

Thanks for the link to the forum and comic.  Is that comic really
supposed to be Daisy?  That's great stuff.  Made me smile :)

Thanks for your support

I wasn't going to say it because Ohio sucks...but, both me and Ionias live in Ohio....

Ionias?

Personally, I would rather go somewhere else to meet all of you bastards. But, if it would be helpful...

Did you get any of the fuzzy images when you extracted? I ALWAYS do. It's really annoying.

Or did you just screen capture each frame?

By the way, those look really great!

It's DOS based. I pretty sure the syntax works something like...

Code: ags

costrip.exe monkey1.001

just copy and paste your .001, .002, etc files into the costrip directory. You can create a .bat file with notepad if you want and just change the name of the resource you are accessing.

Just in case if you have no clue what I'm talking about (sad, sad, death of DOS...) Just open up notepad and paste the code from above and save it as "monkey.bat" in the directory that everything else is in. Then run monkey.bat and have a blast. I know what I'm talking about and I don't think that made any sense... :P

I perfer my hugs before my stabbings. Thanks!

Good luck,

WooHoo!!

There are some Indy sprites there that might help you.

That program is called Costume Viewer/Ripper or something like that. For the most part it sucks. Hard to get it to run and sometimes outputs crap images. Worth trying though. If anyone else wants to contribute, please, please DO!! I need LucasArts sprites the most. There are plenty of Sierra tools that work really well out there...not so with Lucas stuff.

-junc

EDIT: AND! While I'm at it. If anyone has EVERY tool that exists for LucasArts games could you please send them to me. I want to host them and I encourage other to do the same. Since mixnmojo is down you can't find them ANYWHERE. That's pretty silly to have only one server for all of those tools.

Yay, I found Costume Ripper:

are you on dialup or cable?

I have a bunch of Sierra sprites and some Indy sprites that you can download. If it is too big let me know and I will break it down.

Download it: HERE

I am working on a character and background dump and will have it up on my site some time this week.

Since this topic has gone completely off...

I have never understood the big hairy lesbian thing. I mean, if you like girls, then you like GIRLS. Right?

Well, much to my joy this stereotype has been somewhat destroyed by girls born after 1981. (oh, by the way, I'm not pulling this out of my butt, I took a sociology class about genereations, although it is biased toward Americans). Anyway, girls born after 1981 tend to like pink things again. These are of course all stereotypes but, stereotypes are based on pop culture.

Girls from the pre-81 era grew up in a world where women were meant to be nothing. They were supposed to cook, clean, and make babies. They were supposed to have big tits, smooth legs, and talk nice. "Big hairy"-lesbians is just the byproduct of men being pricks. Now that a generation of women has grown up with big hairy lesbians they feel the need to modify. You can still be a beautiful woman and be a lesbian. I live in Columbus, Ohio which has the second largest homosexual population in the US. I would say about 50% of the lesbians that I see are "HOT" by stereotypical male standards. The ones that fall into the big hairy lesbian category are usually older.

I think the big hairy lesbian thing is kind of sad. Women letting go of their one ultimate power. Sexuality is a beautiful thing and I think every woman should use it. Women that don't...just annoy me.

I forget who originally said it now...but the girls climbing tree, being adventerous thing....MY GOD YES!! I SOOOO wish I could find a girl like that. Ladies, you have no idea how sexy that is. Oh, and on a related note: Any female that sits in front of a computer and programs or (most importantly) uses AGS, automatically gains "sexy"-points.

And now back to AGS...

I think an Indiana Jane game would be awesome (so long as it was a rough and tough Jane, and not a tomb raider look at my boobs-Jane. I also would like the Amazonian Seagull game if it was done right.

Anyone have any luck linking their bots in Windows XP? I can't seem to get it to work. I enter the paths, press enter, and it just quits.
