The Rumpus Room / Re: Happy Birthday Thread!

Thanks again folks, I appreciate it :). It went swell. Also, damn I need to get my hands on some Sunny Delight! Haven't had that stuff for yeeears. Last I heard they had to change the recipe because it was like 99% sugar or something crazy like that.

Edit: Happy birthday to all today! I'd feel like a right bastard otherwise ;). It's the names in bold, right? So happy birthday Eric and Baro! Have a good one!

Thanks guys! Will do my best. Think I probably have enough beers in the fridge to see me through it. :-)  have yourselves a good day too.

OK, so I played it and I loved it (never played it before). But I knew that ending was coming. Nah? I guess I watched too many movies, right. I see this stuff all the time. BUT, it was well executed.

Do you care to share a link, my good man?

I'd hate to come across as too vague, so for anyone having problems in getting their head around the idea, here are some things to maybe consider:

1) How the animal moves - does it sprint quickly like the cheetah or plod slowly like a turtle?
2) Is it (stereo-typically maybe) a loud and intimidating beast or quietly cute furry?
3) if it were an instrument, would it wriggle from note to note like a snake or leap quickly like a frog?
4) Does it sore like an eagle or kingfisher in crescendo or does it travel to a concentrated and calculated melody like, I dunno, an ant? :P

Hope that helps 'the flow'...

It's Diary of a Nudist. I just put it up for a laugh, someone else can take a turn if they want to. Too much responsibility being in the hot seat.

This looks incredible. I especially like the concept art and the art in general. Looking forward to it!

In this tune contest your task is to compose a tune or 'soundtrack' for an animal. Great compositions have the power to evoke all different kinds of emotions in the listener and tell all sorts of deep and elaborate stories. You can pick any animal you like. Cat, dog, panda, whatever. That's up to you. Try to include a short description to accompany your tune. Have fun ;)

No restrictions.

This contest ends 1st July.

Give real hints.

It's a film from 1961. The main character is a reporter.

Nope! I'll give a hint: Ponch would probably like this movie. So I'll leave that up to you to decide what to make of that (laugh). I'll post another pic a bit later on.

It's a great honour :) I totally have to commend the other really talented guys for their great compositions, really enjoyed hearing them.

QuoteEven though I was joking about it being a criteria, it does coincidentally also happen to be the loudest

Right, I'll go away and think of a theme for the June competition and get back to you's!

The Rumpus Room / Post a song thread!

Hello and welcome to the Post a song thread!. Sit down and relax.

I see there is a lot of talented musicians in this forum, so I decided to start this thread to hear more music (selfish, I know). Let us not be restricted by the competition thread, just post some music here for us good folk to listen to! Doesn't matter what software or instruments you use, just post so we can all like and follow (if you're on soundcloud). Who knows, we might even learn something from each other? Amateur or otherwise, who cares. Just post your music :).

Since I started this topic, I'll start to get the ball rolling with some improve work I hammered out today.: https://soundcloud.com/mikegillon/poppy-seed
