If I'm not confusing it with another from that 90s "kill the drug dealers" actioner genre, that one was popular in the arcades.

For the one game I've made, I spent quite a while scouring the Internet to make sure there wasn't any other with the same name.  And then recently I found there was an obscure tabletop game with the same name.  So in addition to PC games, you may want to consider also looking at other kinds (boardgame, handheld, etc..) of games to avoid potential clashes or confusion.  Unless for some reason, and I can't think of a good one (maybe fan games as Gilbot mentioned), you were knowingly going to use an existing title.  I would go with something unique.

General Discussion / Re: Shadowrun Returns

I'm seeing lots of potentially cool looking mods (some include loot drops) appearing in the Steam Workshop for Shadowrun Returns.  I would hold off on downloading for now though and give them a month or so at least, as many are alphas or proof of concepts at this point.

Word on the street is the Berlin expansion comes out in late October.

Yep, one of my favorite games from the Atari 8-bit days.

I loved Pirates as a kid, and later Pirates Gold.  Another early exploration game that I played like crazy was Seven Cities of Gold.

I was curious so I went and googled the image - never heard of it nor seen the game.

Same here; first time I've Googled an image for a game on here.  Never seen or heard of it.

But now I step back from the brink of tyranny and throw the question to the people: what kind of vote would you like to see in the future?

I like voters choosing a top 2, with the first one getting 2 votes and the second choice getting 1 vote.  This keeps vote tallying simple with less chance of ties.  But after mulling it over, I'm cool with the latest system provided there is only 1 vote per category - as feedback is always good.

So I vote on voting as follows:
1. Vote for top 2 writers; 2 points for 1st and 1 point for 2nd
2. Baron system with 1 vote per category and feedback optional

Oh almost forgot, I'd like to thank Ponch for literally giving me the cow's backside.  I specify "literally" because I just assume at some point in the past he figuratively gave me a cow bum.  Also, *shhhhh* never tell anyone about the cow bum trophy in the standardized trophy thread.

My trophy:     Alternatively Ponch you can have the top half.  I can take the base for my non-existent signature trophy case.

Thanks for hosting Baron!

Le Samouraï

Boom got it.  The same director also made "Army of Shadows", which is awesome as well.

On the first question, no I wouldn't replay strictly for achievements.  I would only replay if I enjoyed it and there are lots of things (dialogue options, endings, etc...) I could have missed on a single playthrough.

They don't make a difference to me.  I've only checked achievements a handful of times (Left 4 Dead games come to mind), and none were adventure games.
