Critics' Lounge / Alien WW2-type aircraft.
Tue 20/06/2006 17:57:03

This is a pixal sketch I did of a alien world war two level fighter. What do you people think? Does it look like it came from around WW2? As well, any colouring ideas? Paint overs are of course welcome.

Well, as we all know now, the Oilers lost 3-1 we who supported the oilers, can take off our party hats, but if you like the 'canes, congratulations.

I would like a zoom function on the sprite previewer, as well a money system in some kind of non-scripting form.

General Discussion / Oilers vrs. Hurricanes
Mon 19/06/2006 18:11:02
This is for any members on this beloved forum who have an interest in the upcoming game. Who do you think will win, why and what will you be doing during game time? Will the Oilers keep up the 2 game winning streak? or will the Hurricanes rip through the opposition?  Only time will tell. For those who don't watch hockey, ( such as practically everyone watching the World Cup,) I am sorry if this takes any attention from football, just thought that if we can talk about soccer, we can talk about ice hockey.

I going to give you some advice on night I gave someone else, the pic IS quite good, but it  doesn't say nighttoime to me. look at those horrible night scenes you see in old Technicolor movies, they look darkened, not night.

Umm, It is supposed to be night, right? Well I have noticed that night is often more blue. And this picture IS dark. Now a photo might record night as dark,  but when our eyes adjust we often see it in a differant way. as well the moon creates pale blue highlights.  here is a good example

Note the highlights on the log, the blueness of things though nothing in the pic in daylight would be blue

I would probably say the parser commands, understanding how to implement my ideas, and add "synonyms" any other hints and tips 9such as setting up a gui) would also be useful

QuoteLord! What fools these mortals be!
That's Shakespeare for you, bet he didn't get lucky much either. But hey, sex isn't the only thing in the universe. Be friends first and then hey, if you (meaning both of you) think sex will further the relationship, then shoot, go for it, hit the sack and roll in the hay. Be sure to wear a condom, but if bun gets in the oven, support whatever her decision is. Besides she has the final say. In a relationship men are usually they buyers, and woman are the sellers, and theft is wrong. So have fun, and be a gentleman.

QuoteGetting close to IF parsers like Inform or Adrift is another story, but that's not really what you want to do, right? :=
no, it was to basically add more detail, and to discourage meta-game thinking.

it was mostly aimless curiosity.(I have a lot of that ;D) but I thought it would be useful for a spell system, or for crime scene investigation, to hinder the meta-game "click everywhere" tendency, to add extra details. I was also wandering if anyone had any experience with this function in AGS, more specifically the AGS parser system. Is it good , is it bad? should I take the time to learn it, and can anyone help me.

I was just wondering if anyone has used the parser tool (on AGS) to good effect. As well, does anyone have any hints and tips on programming this rarely used function?
Just a thought.

Could you make a back walkcycle? or could you do that anyway with the front walkcycle function with the generator

who knows, what can I say I am a lonley sod with no girlfriend EVER. I can't give you much advise, but there is something majorly twisted going on. The german chef is being a wee bit too protective of her [sarcasim light is on] btw whats snogging?

And practise practise, practise! for a first timer, that’s not half bad. its fairly usable. As well, a nice balance of walkable,  and  un-walkable areas. The lower right is rather empty, but the rest has fairly good visual interest. I am also pleased with your efforts to use home made graphics, rather then ripping. Keep up the hard work, and who knows? you might someday turn out to be a new DanClarke.

I heard to differant stories about the origin of the word "fuck" one was that if you were caught you had to where a sign that said For U
nlawful Carnil Knowledge, similer to the kings permission story.
I also heard that it came from the old saxon word foken which means, "to beat against" An apt description I always thought ;D

Nikolas: Drinking once a week may not be classed as addictive behavior for YOU, but if this guy is DREAMING about beer and beer glasses, then its definitly an issue for HIM.If one HAS to have the substence, then it doesn't matter if it's one a week or once a hour, their addicted. Sorry if I am being rude, but you can't get in Gord10's head, you can't know what he's going through.

There is some really nice ones in my town, some guys (or girls) tagged all over the shed at the community gardens were my sister volunteers. Anyway it was so nice, that when the cops caught the guys and offered to have them paint over, the gardeners said they wanted to keep it. There’s is also a really nice one on the Arbutus Café

And i think i've started a habit. One that is VERY common in my family. But to go to AA i think i would be wasting peoples time. Those that had real problems.
Believe me I thought the same thing when my doctor and family recommended I get help from Mental Health Services, for my anxiety attacks. I thought, "Hey, there are people who need help, more then me, I am just not worth the trouble" but it turned out I did need help. Now they are mostly under control, but its because I got help when I needed it.
