I made an x-mas game a while back called 'Jingle Bells' if you head over to http://www.magintz.com/ you should be able to find it. I found that because it was a set deadline I had to let most of my ideas go. I spent a week on characters and planning then 2 weeks on the game.

I'm planning on making an Easter game so I may start now :D

ProgZmax - I thought it had a very similar story to another recent AGS game ^_^

It looks like it has the potential to be a good game, i'd think it would work better if it had more free flow to it, rather than having to stop to jump etc... if you could just press space while moving and he does a running jum or something, i think that would work better than standing still, then press space.

I bought fatman and do not regret it. It was brilliant and am pleased to have supported it.

Kyrandia = Kings Quest Rip off.

Yea, but at least Kyrandia was enjoyable.

When designing any user interface it is always a good idea to make sure there is user feedback, to let the user know they have done something, and that the system has acknowledged it. In the case of computer games it always helps to have progression, either in the form of a leveling up system in RPG's, better weapons in FPS and I think in adventure games a points system.

The points give the player a sense of success and progression, while overall not actually getting them any closer to completing the game, but if you have a total points they may be aware of how close they are.

I'm a strong believer in rewarding a point to everything the user can possibly do towards completing the game, with more points given to more difficult obstacles that have been overcome.

The down-side of having a points system is that it takes away some of the mystery of the game, as in how long left, did I do that right, etc... Another thing to remember is how realistic you want your game to be and whether or not you feel that a points system on screen will dissuade people from the illusion of your game.

If done right a points system can be a nice touch, but don't be over generous and think maybe of a possible punishment if the user tries something stupid, like talking to a wall or themselves, this can add to some puzzles as the user will not want to lose points by randomly clicking everything, and actually try to work it out logically.

Hope my two cents help.

There are lots of movies I remember watching either as a kid or as i've grown up and thought wow they were amazing films, and occasionaly I go back and think... wow that film sucks. Like the film "Labrynth" I watched it as a kid and loved it, now I have to say it's one of my all time most hated films ever.

So imagine this, for some odd reason, some unexplained reason you could do one great thing and their was no possible chance of failure, what would you do?

I want to know what you want to do in as much detail and why. I want to know what is stopping you from doing exactly that right now. I want to know the current closest and realistic thing you could do. I don't care how ridiculous this sounds or how far out your proposal is whether it be consume the moon, play badmington with a shark or become a super hero.

I also want to hear about realistic life ambitions or dreams that are sensible thoughts and what you plan to do about it, if anything and if the answer is no, then why.

For me, it would have to be the super-powers. Something like superman or possibly batman. What is standing in my way is the fact that I was born on the wrong planet so have no super powers. The closest thing would be some spandex wearing vigilante running around trying to fight crime with my trusty sidekick.

As for realistic, i've always wanted to be a pilot. I suppose it's nothing too out of reach I just don't have the availiable knowledge on how I would approach a career like this, and the longer I leave it the less chance I have of doing anything about it.

I've been off World of Warcraft for a while returning to STar Wars Galaxies for the new patch.... very dissapointed. WoW has everything anyone could want from an MMORPG.

I am also out, I've been swamped with University work, so maybe some other time. I planned it all out, just graphics and coding never even got started.

Lots of companies have shrink wrapping machines like my work does, sealing something is as easy as pie, watch out for that.

I work in a video game shop and when we had a store refit we cleared all the cabinets and found some brand new unused jaguar and saturn games ^_^

MAGS is a ncie introduction to teh community, and if it were up to me, would be a pre-requisite for joining the community. The only reason I plan to enter is not because I have no ideas (I have millions) but because I've slowly dragged off my current project and think that a rejuvenation of AGS is in order, plus I want to have soemthing released.

Stay tuned though... I plan to start making my game this week.... hopefully.... :/

Just did a quick browse and have this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth

and links off to details on:
the crust - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crust_%28geology%29
the mantle - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantle_%28geology%29 Composition of Earth's mantle can be found on that link

This site may also be worth a look

http://www.solarviews.com/eng/earth.htm

Hope this helps, just try to get things done or at least started as soon as you can, and maybe pay attention in class and perhaps ask your techer to point you to some outside reading at your local library.

I may be making a game. I planned it out, but I bought Call of Duty 2 the other day so whether it actaully gets made is another question.

I like eggie's idea for the use of a piano.

TV license is a form of control. The BBC currently has no advertisments and also continues to support a wide variety of shows for all markets. It is because of this that keeps other channels such as ITV from flooding the channel with adverts every 10 minutes, like in America. The license fee supports the BBC so they can continue to make and produce a variety of shows which aim at minorities, which otherwise would not be shown.

Also you need one tv license for one household no matter how many devices you have. If you are only using tv's for dvd playing you do not need one as long as you can prove that the TV is not able to get reception i.e no aerial or channels manually tuned to static.
