I find this very hard to do, thinking not only of my favourite game, but whether I would want to see a sequal to it, and what I'd want to do with it. Yes I'm a real fan of games such as Rollercoaster Tycoon, but it has been re-made oh so many times with expansion packs, and all I can think of for improvements has either been done, or is so pointless and insignificant would only require maybe a small patch.

As far as adventure games go I absolutley adore Sam and Max and find it to be one of the most commical adventure games ever, but again they are finally making a sequal to it, let's hope it's going to be good.

I honestly couldn't think what I'd want to make. In some ways I agree with Andail, make the perfect MMORPG, I've played so many of them yet find flaws in them all. I really enjoyed Star Wars Galaxies for what it was (Star Wars) but it had little enjoyment as far as long term gameplay was concerned, and the levelling system was an absolute nightmare. World of Warcraft is fun, but doesn't allow that much freedom in terms of player diversion. If you're a warrior that is all you are, while Star Wars Galaxies had the complete free choice where you can mix and match almost any three proffesions to alter certain vital statistics and moves.

Knights of the Old Republic has to be one of my altime favourite games so I'd probably say it would have to be that. It was so much fun especially if you're a Star Wars fan like myself. The story and combat system were both brilliant, the way you can go dark or light side was superb and they paid attention to every little detail. So honestly, if I were to make a sequal it would be to Knights of the Old Republic.

What I would do with it would be to maybe turn it into an MMORPG, that way it would fulfil my lust for the perfect MMORPG. Being a Jedi would be everyone's inner most desire in the game, I say let everyone be a Jedi if they want. That is what I hated about Star Wars Galaxies, it was so hard to become one, when that's all everyone wanted. If it had the same Jedi progression as KotOR then people could get to grips with the character before becoming Jedi, which would happen quickly, but you would level up through Padawan to the ultimate Jedi Master or Sith Lord.

Thank You m0ds for providing me the space to really get all that out, it's been on my mind for ages and now I know exactly what I want :D

I'm sure if everything is your own work as with Fountain of Youth, and you just use the character basis etc... they can't really do much if you are doing it as a fan project for no money.

Obviously all they can do is ask you to stop. but if you think about it a game is no different than a website in this respect, just a different form of media. So if they would shut you down, legally they would have to shut down every fan site in the world.

Best thing to do, is if you are still paranoid take one of these options:

1) Ask the creator of the said licence if you can use it for a fan project
2) Make it annonymously
3) Make your own project
4) Make a parody on the subject that is different enough not to cause a stir
5) Just simply don't make a game (but please don't choose this option)

Yay, looking forward to this. Although I don't plan to spend 6 weeks. But I do want to see Italy and Spain, and it would be nice to see Germany and France.

At the moment I'm mainly interested in the capitals but it depends on my budget / time allowance. Obviously the more time and money I have the more I will see.

How much are youth hostels nowadays around Europe.

For £285 I can get a Euro-Train card and travel all over Europe for one month with this one travel card. Hopefully I will be able to see some sites on my way down to Mittens and then see some more on my way back. Best start saving money now because this will probably be very expensive.

Although these trains only go to Malaga and Barcelona as the closet point to Benidorm :/

I'm sold... send me one out right away

Thast thing looks friggin amazing. I can't wait to be able to use one. but will nintendo make a decent machine to go with this control, and also what about games.

I imagine zelda and games like mario tennis will work very well. With the DS they put in a touch screen, but it wasn't really used all to well.

I definatly won;t go for a playstation 3 coz frankly the first two were utter crap, they constantly break, experience massive problems and always have turned me off with the controllers.

X-Box 360 was going to be my choice, but I think this video clip sold me

Futurama has some of the best quotes ever.

FARNSWORTH'S CLONE - "I hear alcohol makes you stupid"
FRY - "No i'm... doesnt?!"

then almost anything said by Zap Branigan

Ball Emporer - "We demand bouncing, followed by rolling, followed by bouncing of a second kind"

Futurama was pure gold from episode 1 - 4

Family guy has lots of good quotes, some funnies have been posted.

Ah, just a quick thought. Is this going to be the same old 5 days, because I wouldn't mind spending some more time in Spain looking at the local culture and brushing up on my Spanish, so if anyone else plans on doing the same, let us try to organise something closer to the date.

I'm definatly a no for Ibiza. I'm fine with Benidorm, Barcelona or the likes. Also I agree with Petteri, although September would be cheaper many people will be returning to school/college/university.

A date sometime around the last week in August would be preferable for most I believe.

I'll think you'll find it's Kilpeck, England in the 12th Century

Perhaps Sam and max will travel through time in England in their new adventure.

Yea this thing is pretty cool, I've printed off one for myself that just has the years calendar and a weekly one so I can write down the hours I work and highlight important dates so I never forget and added in towards the back a few lined pages so i can make notes.

Yipeee... This has made me so happy :D

Sam and Max is definatly one of my favourite all time games, glad to see it's making a comeback and also glad to see Lucas Arts won't be able to ruin it. Damn the dark-side of gaming.

I can't stand cricket... it's fun to play, but as soon as you have to watch it... honestly get there an hour before the game starts for the true fun. Right after they paint the lines on the grass.

Not only do you get the excitement of paint drying but also of grass growing. After that in comes boring old cricket.

In my opinion it all loos too "realistic" to be monkey sialnd like. To me CMI was very much a cartoon, everythng was distorted and everything was over the top. The clouds were massive and curley rather than light and puffey.

In your background I think you need some brighter colours, the new one is looking much better. Best thing is to look at CMI screenshots like loominous posted and disect it, break it apart into small details - e.g oversized clouds, rounded edges.... and try to find a common set of rules and conventions to follow.

So I think the date and place has been near enough decided. Speak now or forever hold your peace... or until it is discussed again.
#498
Wow this looks very helpful, I may look at it later on this evening.
