My favourite poem of all tiems, unknown author:

As I was walking up the stairs,
I met a man who wasn't there,
He wasn't there again today,
I wish that man would go away.

And another funny one.

As I was walking by Saint Pauls,
A lady grabbed me by the... arm,
She said young man you've got some pluck,
How about a quick... cup of tea.
It may cost you a tenner,
It may cost you a bob,
It all depends on the size of your... cup.

Batman is uber cool. I'm watching it this weekend. I saw the trailer, saw the batmobile and cried... what have they done to her, they've made a thing of beauty and coolness into... into.... "that".

Just trying to stop you guys from dying... ;)

she's really a witch with a bad temper and we've requested her to make the adventure gamers meet to be as authentic as possible (lol)

Heh, yea. I can imagine this could really affect the organisers, they may lose some of their billion dollar fortunes.

In the current issue of "Computer Active" I noticed a small clipping about a piece of software called "Paint.net 2" and was developed by Microsft in partnership with Washington State University.

Not sure if anyone knows about this, I checked it out when they had an original beta release but this verison seems to be stable and decent enough to fully replace microsft Paint.

Anywho, here are some details for you all:

Paint.net is intended to be a replacement for the free MS Paint software provided with all Windows operating systems.

It offers many of the powerful features found in commercial editors, including the ability to work on multiple layers, full transparent PNG support, unlimited history, and a plethora of visual effects.

An interesting feature is the way each tool window becomes transparent when covering the image. This enables better implementation of effects and is something the big image editors are currently lacking.

Adding and editing text is somewhat limited, but will hopefully be improved in later versions. You can't seem to move text around the canvas or highlight it to change individual character sizes, and it doesn't automatically assign text to a new layer.

Check this link out to download it:

http://www.computeractive.co.uk/vnunet/downloads/2129101/paint-net

You will need to install .NET Framework 1.1 in order to run this software (23.1MB) - Link available through site given above.

Hope this is useful to the people still restricted to using MS Paint, or who have difficulties using some of the advanced software such as Photoshop.

M

EDIT - Fuzzbingles, just saw the freeware apps thread, and to boot it contains a paint.net link.... raspberries. I'll leave it here for now to aleert people to such a great alt. to Paint.

As far as I can recall emualtors are 100% legal, it's the games that you download that are illegal (some aren't copyrighted though so those are legal). If you think about somehting like scummvm... thats an emulator and it's legal.

As far as teh delete in 24 hours rule, or only for backup. Those are rumours, although I doubt anyone would find out if you did have a ROM on your PC.

I've found I've had real difficulties buying some games and find emulation and rom downloads the only way. But now somehting which should be cool:

The new Nintendo console (Nintendo Revolution / N5 or whatever it has been dubbed) will have the ability to download and play NES, SNES and N64 games for a small fee, and also play gamecube games, DVD's. If it can download games then I'm guessing it will have a built in hard-drive so no more memory cards.

I watched bits of it, a complete joke. Only 6 cars, and all due to a manufacturer problem with the tires, something like this should be dealt with properly.

If anyone went to watch it chances are they didn't live 10 minutes down the road so would have had to book flights, stay in a hotel, eat out and then pay for the exceedingly expensive tickets. Something should have been done and I can see a lot of angry angry letters already in the mail.

Most enjoyable, I missed the sequal to the episode with the creepy gas masks... anyone care to fill me in on the next episode? What happened?

You'll have to go into the entrance at the far end, where you will see signs for reception. Go there, pay and the kind old lady will point you in the right direction to the campsite. Remember to use the name Lovegrove, I doubt she'll be familiar with m0ds :P

This is great, looking forward to the whole thing. I really like how he sticks everything in his pants :P

Hmm... my mathematics exam. Although I must wait until the results get back :/

Also one of my job interviews, it turned out to be more a friendly chat about how fun Mario Kart is when you're drunk.
