Or as another option to you young mites, you can try the classic adventure style walking, where if you push the button once they move, and if you push it again they stop. All the scripting needed for this is within my Text Parser Template.

MAGS is a monthly competition for all amateur adventure game makers. The idea is to use AGS to create a game in under a month, following the rules set by the previous winner.

I'm not here to tell you that you should enter MAGS, but merely allow it as a creative opportunity to help you work to a deadline, improve your skills, and generally as a good kick-start for the new comers (a.k.a n00bies).

MAGS is the perfect opportuninty to make a game, and the wonderful prize is to announce the net month's rules, and all competitiors get the game placed on the MAGS website.

MAGS is meant to be fun and is aimed at everyone, despite their skill. If you have poor art skills work on graphics, and vice-versa, as the voting is based on "favourite" games, and not the most artistic, you may get help for the competiton, but must not get anyone else to do any part of the game for you.

Theme- Outdoors

-The game must take place on the outside (i.e. not inside a building, could be a street, could be a forest, could be both or anything else. underground places are also acceptable) for almost all/all the game.
-Most of the game must take place in the past or the future (any time but present). Not 3 minutes ago, unless it's really different. A small part may take place in the present if needed.
-There can be an element of time travel if you wish.
-There must be at least one easter egg in the game (any kind, even a reference). Just as long is it's not too minor. Also, if it's hard to find somehow, even better.
-There must be at least one animated background (something small is good enough).
-There need to be 2 inventory items (that come into play somewhere) out of this list:
cheese
a lamp
an oversized hat
vitamins
a bent spoon
a handle/knob from something
an engine
a brain
leaves
lemon
a toy mouse
something carved out of wood
a strange device
a costume
some popcorn (in any form)
a boot/boots
a 2-pound bucket of plasma
a collar

Lots to choose from .

-One of the characters can be a forum member (not strcitly a must).
-One character in the game needs to have some sort of quirk/craziness/funny talk/physical or mental disorder/past trauma/mystery/whatever.

That's all, hope that's free enough, no restrictions on color depth and resolution.

woah dudes, sorry bout this month, no i'm not dead, although i feel like i could be. The only day I had off work last week was christmas day itself, and yesterday was my first day off since then, it felt like heaven...

anyway back to MAGS. Sorry for being absent throughout this month but I didn't realise the date, just PM me everything you've got ginny.

Does anyone know where i can maybe get a decent adventure game related ringtone (polyphonic) for my Sagem myx-2, or maybe even some java games for it?

The theme is going to be Christmas but this time it will be with famous characters.

An example: Bernard, Hoagie and Laverne get's invated to Dr. Fred's house for a Christmas party but someone have stolen the presents and it's up to Bernard and pals to find the presents and find the guilty one.

The rules:

1: There must be a Christmas story which is based on existing characters from movies, cartoons or games (not real persons if they don't feature in those things mentioned like). Adventure games characters from Lucas Arts and Sierra games are okay.

2: The main-character must have a santa hat on his head. It's up to you if you want the other characters to have a santa hats but you don't have to if you want.

3: There must be at least five playable rooms and at least one must include snow (a snow-veiw out of a window is okay but paintings don't count). The snow-plug in is welcome but it's not "stricktly".

The rest is up to the contestants...

If you got any games that you want to use the characters from you can either start from scratch or go to http://www.juncmodule.com/juncSource.html to rip off characters, backgrounds, objects etc...

Well sorry for the delay but it caught me at a bad time this month, this weekend I've been working almost all the time, and on top of that I've been ill so I've been going to bed straight after work, but I won't keep you any longer...

Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil seem to have popped up a lot, maybe I will check them out, but for now I have my eyes set on a memory card, extra controller, RF cable and Super Smash Brothers or possibly nothing else at this current point in time... But I definately need the RF lead and Memory card, I'm tempted to go for an unoffical 64mb for £19.99

We had a deal on at the place I work Mario Kart double dash pack which includes the platinum console, the game, all the old zelda games, demo of windwaker and 2 extra games for £99 which is about $60 methinks

AGA - Getting the gamecube is cheaper and better than upgrading my PC. I already have a 2.66ghz, 512mb RAM, 64mb graphics... I don't need any more and I want NINTENDO games on a console coz it si so much better to play games on sometimes and it has unique stuff which isn't out on PC or any other console such as Zelda and Mario Kart

I just set the date to the 27th as we only have 30 days this month. That allows 2 days for voting and 1 day for the winner to decide the rules.
