I started doing this in MS Paint, felt the limitations and went into Photoshop. For all you n00bies out there, this is the type of stuff you can be doing today. I have the artistic talents of an african swallow carrying a coconut.

MS Pain (spelling error is intended)

Photoshp (spelling error not intended)

Its really this simple!

P.S, this is not a game I am making, nor do I really want any C + C, so thats why it's in the GEN GEN. Just something for you to feast your eyes upon.

It's a great game, I loved the part where you could name your snail ^_^

I called mine m0ds, coz he woz green!!!!2

Well done Yahtzee, loved it from start to finish, the plot was one of the best I've seen in a while and had a nostalgic value reminding me of Maniac Mansion and Hugo House of Horrors.

You've done it again.

I am very similar to yahtzee in a way; very arrogant, and think we should just back off a bit and let him get back to taking over the world. His games are great, and reading through some of his site it's quite humourous looking at his take on life / death.

I would quite gladly welcome him back to the forums...

so jannar is that a propostition to take over?

I'll still wait but i'm going to have to wait a while just to see if anyone else is interested.

I'll choose probably very soon.

Klaus does all of the website, as well as organising the voting system.

The job description would best be described as Organiser.

You will have to keep up to date with whats been going on within the current posts, and remember to stop the competition at the end and announce voting.

Should any last decisions be made like rules or votes you will have to decide. If there are any debates about the rules you will have to give your opinion and sort this out.

If noone enters a month, you will have to make up the rules. You can set up the system however you want... ask for suggestions? make prizes and ceremonies?

Well my time has come to give it up, it seems to have been sorted and is getting back on track with the help from Klaus and his wonderful MAGS site.

Unfortunatley i am running into a lot of hard work ahead of me, and would like to see if someone else can do better with MAGS, maybe start to create ceremonoies and organise things better, I'm saying this now as it is the end of september MAGS, I'll announce the winner and get them to start off October MAGS rules and decide the new OWNER to begin with November.

Anyone who is interested post here, and I'll choose a person suitable.

General Discussion / Caption Competition

How about starting a caption competition?

Every week I'll show an image, either a game/film screenshot or random pic, and you'll have to submit a suitable caption. The best one wins.

I'll start one here, if people like it I'll move it across to C and A, as OTG has told me to do ^_^.

First Image:

This is a screenshot from spiderman, have fun, two entries per person; maximum, You have till next tuesday, winner will be announced on Wednesday along with next weeks pic.

Well, i've been making a template and am currently writing sufficient readme instructions to get the user up and running. I also wrote a simple introductory tutorial to text parsing, cant remember the link but look around in the technical.... or possibly general? :P

General Discussion / News

Can anyone help me? I want to add a news script to my webpage, something I can use to add news easily to my site from any where, nothing fancy, just something simple.

I don't want to spend hours setting it up, and dont care about delete or edit functions, just a way to add news to a webpage.

Competitions & Activities / September MAGS
Sat 30/08/2003 21:02:58
Congratulations to Hobbes for his stunning MAGS game buccaneer. The game really does deserve a round of applause.

MAGS is a competition open to anyone, it is a monthly competition where the previous winner choose's the rules for the next month, and competitors (could be you) make a game withing the month despite graphical or technical skill, so feel free to enter.

Moving on to September with Hobbes rules for this month...

1. Game must be 320 x 200 (320 x 240 also allowed).
2. Ammount of colours is your own decision.
3. It can be in any setting or place.
4. The game *MUST* contain a classic mythical beast outside of its "natural" habitat. E.g. a hydra in New York city.
5. The main character must come into conflict with this creature. Whether the hero wins or not, is up to the creator.
6. If possible, come up with a nice explanation how the creature got there.

Remember:
ALL GAMES MUST BE IN BY 25th SEPTEMBER

Have fun and make yourself a MAGS game.

Nice... I think the draws that fold out underneath look wrong, they're too flat.
