Hi there Stupot and Mandle, nice to speak with you guys.
No more game-making for me, but this forums will always be part of who I am so I tend to check it out from time to time.
Let's honor Ghost, probably one of the last good guys.

Hello guys, just want to express my sadness regarding Ghost's passing away.

In truth Ghost (Bjoern) was important in my life in ways that only now I understand.

Some of you may remember me from the forums, I was a bit of  a arrogant prick, a person I'm not proud of, although I now understand it was part of growing up as a person which I did and therefore am capable to show up and man-up to the occasion. For anyone that cares, I apologize.

But this isn't about me. Back then I'd already left the forums and game-making, I had a young kid and decided to become a artist, a painter.
Ghost was this guy that I could talk regularly about a few things, about his art, my art, the forum and people here.
He was so kind and polite. Always.
Ghost was very supportive of my art and always encouraging me and saying that I could make it and was very talented, all things that I didn't actually believed because my confidence was not very high.
Then, in 2014, we decided to change portraits, we would swap photos and each would paint a portrait of the other in the medium we wanted.
I was working with pastels at the time, just before starting with oil paints and so I did it. A portrait of Ghost shipped to Germany and Ghost loved it.
Strangely I found Ghost's confidence a bit faded then and he never sent me my portrait although he said he had done it with his Magic Pixels.
We kept talking once in a while, less and less I admit. Life takes turns and we all have our different lives.

Anyway, what I sad discovery I made today reading this topic. Such a gentle person deserves a place in Pixel Heaven. Rest in peace my friend.

Wow! This thread changed a bit since I last visited!
Glad to see that things don't change much around here though! Some guy being bashed by the majority because he's defending his conspiracy theories, nothing's new.
But I must add something very serious to the discussion. And this is about money, war, peace and women with small ear lobes.

I think I've got some onions to sell on Sunday but you wouldn't mind if I join the party smelling of onions would you?
I will not have time for shower but maybe somebody will bring some of those scented towels?

Just for the record and it doesn't really mean that I'm trying to change anybody's point of view, but regarding the McCann case - Gonçalo Amaral (the detective that was put into disgrace when trying to investigate) was considered not guilty of all charges. The McCann's plan to appeal.

The beauty of it all is that, I prefer to think it is anyway, is that many great masters in any artistic media were nothing but common men and women who dedicated their talent to create art.
The set of conditions that took them there can only be emulated by computers if future technology allows it, and by emulating it is but a copy and that, to me, is not original art.

I really don't know what art is, I Base my knowledge of it by studying art through books and video documentary, I also paint in oil and pastels and occasionally sell my paintings.

As I understand the world, humans create artistic expressions of their experiences, and a computer program designed to make a illustration of somebody's experience is as valid as any other means.
Please don't take me as the old conservative man that I sound like, art is indeed free to be understood as people want and like.
My point is that there's no possibility of a computer to create a unique masterpiece even remotely.

I'm not that radical, art can and will come out using that technology I don't doubt. It's just not art as I perceive and that's obviously self-sided.
I also don't agree with computers feeling anything really, humans feel, robots don't and it should stay that way. It's great to read a sci-fi novel about robots with human traits but having them around is just weird for me. I love Blade Runner but those replicants are some scary dudes and dangerous. We have enough crazy people exploding themselves without the help of robots.

Art and humans are connected and some people even consider art to be what makes us humans. Technology changes and that's great but true art is only understood by humans like you and me even with our different tastes. No robot will ever "understand" art like humans do, it can emulate what we do and think but that's completely different.
We can feed a computer with all the great phrases ever written by literature masters but that will not make a good book. The same with music, painting and all of artistic expressions there are.

But nothing beats the emotional courage of facing a blank canvas, there's a responsibility to the artist when painting somebody's face that it simply vanishes when clicking a button.
A true artist steps to the ring and assumes his work, he puts emotions on a canvas until he signs and after it's finished there's no software to blame for.
I am with Mandle on this, although the technology shown is pretty cool.

Wise man Mandle talks about myths and how they are still embedded in our lives. Well the media are the ones who construct myth in a organised way for the global population, they are the immediate scribes of our time.
And frankly are not responsible or to blame for the accuracy of the facts. Does this sound controversial?  Yes in the rush of a front page they can be irresponsible but that's the price we pay for liberty.
Filtering content is something we should all be doing and while at it try not to fall on the same rushed mistakes the original message brought.
The MCann case is as old a tale as any pulp novel could be, it has all the right ingredients and stereotypical characters like the high- mid -class doctors family with their friends spending holidays in the sunny south, the lone wolf detective, the low profile village, the Scotland Yard and even a hint of a diplomatic incident.
Because we know, better, because we have it engraved in our group conscience how to use this information it becomes natural to format opinions that are most likely already been written many times before.
We tell the same tale again and again.

Therefore my opinion is doomed to stay on a Internet blog if I had one, although like I said on my previous post, the general Portuguese and specially local opinion is that the events that lead to the poor girl dying were baffled by the status of the family. How much "influence" can some British doctors have over a until -that -point credible institution like the Judicial Police is something a little scary for me, but thats my personal opinion.

By the way, the library background is pretty cool. Congrats to the artist.

Hello again my friends,
I could not find the Library playing Ron's VR game and also couldn't find a look-a-like building like the Library on the map.
What I will use as the Library is that nice building on the top-left corner of the map ( the one that has some kind of a garden with a nice green roundabout ).
I want to know your opinion or even if I missed the building on the map completely.

Just for the record:
I've assigned Louis Darcy as the reporter for Reality TV;
FatMan as his cameraman;
Mrs. Stringstein as the Librarian;
Nameless Law Official is now the Sheriff's Deputy and is called Morrissey;

I am finding that the Ron universe is interesting enough for people to develop their own stories based on what already has been made.  There's a good weird vibe about it. I somehow relate it to David lynch movies. There's something "wrong"  with the perfectly clean look of the town and the people who live there.
Also, many secundary characters are waiting for being developed and made interesting.

Can you tell me who's the character in charge of Reality TV? Is there a reporter for the station?
I don't want to create any more characters, so who would make a good (female if possible) character out of the existing cast for the roles above?
