Is it: "Honey, I didn't pay the electricity bill?"

Not a Dev myself but so much in love with AGS as anybody else!
Thanks for "The Plan" Wyz, good work.

I hope that we get our shit together and start working on it as soon as possible!

I know this has been said before and there's CJ coming and going when he has time but due to the current state of the forums, posting this is a nightmare as is to even open topics...let's fix the forum first please. I think it's priority number 1.

Hmmm....so, a mnemonic LED-MIDI device operating from the Orion Constellation that I just happened to cross my eyes upon last friday while observing the stars is: although a life form, it may have ran out of batteries already, meaning I could see it was alive but it was actually dead?

And, weren't the Klingons before the Chlorians?

Can I be called Loretta on the backup site?

I believe that we could organize field trips to remote locations, gather berries and maybe even plant some stuff. Finding a place in the shade and with water nearby would be great too. All people deciding to take their pets along would have to carry poop bags.
Barbecue meat and light drinks are a plus.

General Discussion / Re: New moderator

Good luck Snarky, I think you will not have any problems with the new job as clear judgement and excellent writing skills are on your side.

I vote yes for Ryan on Hints and Tips, Khris well deserves being a mod in the Beginners and of course Dual seams just right for Modules.

The quality and qualifications for the jobs are there, they all have it, plus dedication and available time for it.

My humble opinion on this specific matter (forum) is that the community needs a new server and forum. We are more than 7,000 here and one of this days we'll have our lovely bigbluecup exploding into pieces!

Server money will be easy to gather, I'm sure that lots of people will step forward if needed. Also, there are capable guys and girls here to manage a new forum.
I may be mistaken but I don't think CJ would be mad if the community felt that they need a better place to "live". I think he just doesn't have the time for AGS right now.

I vote for making the transition to a new server and forum. It's really frustrating not being able to come to the forums because of a server issue.

Maybe the new forum could not allow people from downloading AGS until CJ agrees with it? I don't know, I think it could work.

My great nation has a special police division, the GIA :=
They make gay people wear really tight clothes. Straight people can wear baggy trousers and black guys don't have to use a belt on their trousers. That's it.

Honestly, who cares? I personally find gay people to be funny in a good way. They just bring some colour to our somewhat grey times over here.
Also, there's no point arguing if some guys here act like guys and comment on boobs, it's natural, just like gay people feeling offended with it. Of course they're not, they just wish to be doing the same.

Sexuality should be a private issue for most people, but some want to show the world who they sleep with, what can we do?

I've got a big smile on my face right now!
I admit I love this kind of shit as well! :)

I mean, spending time on the beginners thread is like watching Halloween for the first time, you're always looking for when Freddy is going to show up! Ask the wrong question and you're f.....! Ahhhh, the thrill!

Honestly, Draft, you want Khris on your side here. He's the one that has your answers when you need them. And admit it, like 90% of everybody here, we do abuse his patience. Nearly everything can be found on the manual and forum.
Just put yourself in his place and imagine answering the same questions every day?

Rollerskates and dancing Scooby-doo style? I'll vote on that one! :)

Edit: I didn't thank you Khris for the last time I asked for help because I knew that the topic would go up on the list without a reason for it, although thanking you is always a good reason

Yes, the potential is there for me to understand it and I can see that it would help me a lot. I just wish the manual had more stuff about it or the search engine was working.
Arrays and Structs are there to discover as well, it would make my gigantic codes so much simple.
Assigning variables to specific characters would be a major breakthrough to me as well.
But the effort is rewarding to me, it feels great to improve with coding.

thanks Khris
#1476
Okay, now I understand the concept of the thing, Khris example was what I've been reading and couldn't understand, yours is more beginner friendly.
It is still complicated for me and my brain has still to click, I'll dive into it and get back if I can't implement what I want to achieve.

In the meantime thank you both Cat and Khris
#1477
I read it but can't understand it,

with that code how can I declare that if (i=3 means it is true) then all others are false?
#1478
Hi,

is there a way to group bool variables and assign their values to false or true when needed?

A custom-function would work if I wanted ALL of the variables true or false but it's not the case.

Imagine 4 switches, (a,b,c & d), if a is on (true) all of the others should be off (false), and if b was on all others should be off and so on...

To code custom functions for4 switches would be easy but I've got 22 bool variables that act like switches!

I've been reading for arrays and structs but can't make it, and the "search" isn't working.

Thank you

damn you´re good   :)

He's not good, he's the "soul" of this community, without him there would not be beginners starting out AGS with a chance to succeed in scripting. The amount of time he gives to beginners is huge!
Of course one should always RTFM but the knowledge base this thread holds is the backbone of any aspiring coder. Going through this thread and the more advanced one is 99% enough to start coding your games.

If nobody said this before, Khris, you're good!

Atelier, I'll give it a try, thanks for the extension, now I don't have an excuse for not attempting to finish it! But I'll blame you for my divorce! There's no way she'll understand...

Ghost, thanks man, I'll do my best! Btw, RAM Ghost is brilliant!
