Although it was 20 degree Celsius today during the day (from 10am to 5pm +-) where I live, Xmas is a good time for adventure games. GOG and Abandonia are my favourite places to go this time of the year, beside the forums, of course!
I'd love to see some AGS games released on the following days!

This year I have my own game (the Dagger2) nearly finished, it is being tested and I'm adding cut-scenes and animations.
I'd love to offer it to everybody here before the 24/25th but can't be sure of it.

I'll finally finish The Last Express this Xmas, I'm trying to do it without a walk-through but  that seems impossible!

Merry Xmas to all and good adventuring!

I didn't spot the evil bastard, but, how could I? This movie is packed with special effects! She's carrying a baby but it looks like it's only her harm under a blanket!

Thanks for the graphic novel suggestions Snarky. Regarding Russian literature, have you tried any of Gogol's short stories?

The Nose and The Diary of a Madman are both quite funny stories of madness and bureaucracy. The Overcoat is a tragi-comic satire.

He has a very different style and tone to Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy (also, I just remembered that I also read Tolstoy's novella The Kreutzer Sonata last week).

I read Gogol's The Nose some years ago, it came on a small collection of short stories written by Chamisso, Hoffman, Andersen and Gogol himself. I remember it being a bit unsettling, with the main characters not able to fit in their societies, misfits like.
On a similar note, if one wants to feel quite uncomfortable and even "dazed", he should try Heartsnatcher by Boris Vian, I still remember many passages of the book and never quite forgotten how its words were so morbid.

But that was when I was looking to be surprised by literature, even if it hurt. Right now I prefer "soft" reading as I am tired of all the atrocities that real life delivers. So, I'm trying to finish Book 5 from The Wheel of Time (fantastic work!) and ready to star the first from Game of Thrones.
That's it, great thread!

I thought about M.J.Fox but it could be Emilio Estevez... It's an 80's movie or early 90's though...
Hmmm...

The Man that Kept the Gun in his Hand?

Calm down Milos,

AGS forums aren't easy for newcomers, even for older members it can happen that something you say might not be understood.
It's a known fact that the forums are kind of elitist but that's also the reason why people do need to gain some maturity before being accepted.
I had verbal "fights" (FIGHTS!) somewhere in the past, I guess everybody did. But I'm Portuguese and honestly don't believe that Khris or anyone else are racists here or judge people because of the place they were born.

Get to know people around, you'll find people like you and people very different. Some times someone writes something that you think isn't cool, don't get it into your head. Just do games, your way, and be yourself the best way you can.

P.S: don't get personal, you don't have to explain your life to anybody, we are all here because we like point&click games. That's all it is.

Just one room left to code some puzzles! Things are going smooth!
I guess I'll be looking for testers that are offering their services lately in a week or so.

Here's another character (The Duke of Kriegson, first appearance!):
