General Discussion / Re: Skepticism

Nacho, surely you agree that God and the Church are different things, don't you?
You do understand that the Bible was based on only 3 or 4 gospels that  told the beautiful story in similar ways. The same story that the world knows and always have.
Why don't you read Judas Gospel? It's amazing, it will show you things that may move you closer to something you are refusing to believe.
Yes, we are in 2008, the world didn't end and thank God for that. Because there IS a God my dear Nacho. And maybe God is just a collective, human thought that all men share since the beginning. Maybe God is that stuff scientists search endessly that keeps everything together.
And do you want a better proof than you talking about something you don't believe?
The fact that some people abuse of others faith asking for money has more to do with ignorance than anything else. Take the members of this forum, I do not believe that one did fall for that kind of stuff, I'm sorry.

Istvan, I love your game so far and is very well accomplished both in graphics, music and coding.
But I must agree with some of the others that you did complicate stuff with the interface. A simpler one would add more to a great game.
I hate it when the verb gets stuck to the player's action, what normally happens is that if you are using the USE verb, then you will use it with every object/hotspot in the room while you should be examining first.
But don't get me wrong, I am just saying this because this game deserves to be spoken about and it is a GOOD game and it is just a minor aspect of it.
cheers and great work.

Nacho, why not  believe?
With all respect for you and your beliefs:
Can't you see that all your arguments have an oposite side?
So is life in every single thing you may discuss.
You see, if you want to be sure of something you first have to deny all reason. Do you follow?

Such a beautiful book, the best stories man will ever write and literature all revolves around it.
But the Bible, as we know it, was not the first book to tell those stories.
The main characters name change but the essence of it remain the same. Good and evil, redemption, sacrifice.
All the issues with religion these days have a common side: passion. If you have it, then you will feel the power of the soul related things. If not, then you will probably judge things by its scientific nature.
I personally believe that men have lost their passion on our modern days, I think that the global society everybody talks is just something to blind our eyes.
Passion remains solely on those that are being invaded and killed because they will not accept to be ruled.
I think that, in the end, they will lose, and so will humanity.

hi, thanks for asking and for the compliment.
I am working on it and location 2 is complete and 90% tested.
Work is kind of taking me away from the game but I'll get it done and I also want to make the best I can.
It's very nice to read someone talk about it anyway.
see you around BlueKnight38 :)

Sorry to hear about that CJ, I think you should sell AGS, or at least get a monthly fee, 4000 members at 1euro a month is good money don't you think? And if you loose half of those members just rise the fee to 2euros
all the best luck to you

Hello again, man,
It's very brave of you to come up with all that info about you and I think you need a friend or two, man.
I know what you are feeling here, I've been there myself and you know what?
I had enough!
I'm not going to tell you to do this or that because there is nothing wrong with you other than your humanity.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But, well, some stuff you said are just very simple to figure:
If you're not tired you will not sleep well.
If you don't have friends you're not happy.
If you don't go out you will not make friends. And if you don't like to go out at night do it in the day!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am going to tell you something I found about me:
Nothing beats feeling healthy. Knowing that I can take my day off and go and play some football, or swim or just run is one of the best feelings I get from life.
Knowing that I can buy a book and understand it just with the knowledge I've learned and God gave me makes me proud.
I am my body and my mind, so I should take care of both.
I have to balance my life so that I can organize myself and plan ahead.
I need goals to keep the flame alive and protect the ones I love.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry if this was very dramatic, but I thought you could use a hand.

Imagine if:
There will be a time when about 100 groups/companies own all the money there is, and then, they just may think, why don't we get a place for us (say Nevada) and live happily forever with all the luxury and comfort? Build a barricade, surround it with rocket launchers and let the rest of the world  without oil and electricity? Why not? We can do it, we really don't care about the others!

All it takes is a charismatic figure and lots of money.

[Stupot, I didn't delete mine so you should post yours out of sympathy.] :=

Hi, I've been reading this thread and I want to share my point of view with an example that happens to me often:

I have several tattoos on me and although some of them really hurt, some, the last 2 specially, gave me pleasure.
This summer I went for another one.
I know the tattoo parlour owner and we agreed that I could make a tattoo and pay him through the summer (this way my wife doesn't know I'm spending so much money on superfluous stuff !),
he said yes but the tattoo had to be done by this American guy that was in Portugal for 2 weeks and I had to do it in 2 or 3 days from that conversation because he had a busy schedule.
Ok, no problem, but this was in July where I am really busy with work and not sleeping much because of my (he was 9 months then) baby.
So, on the day I get into the studio, it was about 10.30am and I had already been working since 6am. So I am tired but ready for the tattoo.
This guy (the American) was an expert, really professional but very detail-obsessed and so the session took about 4 hours.
Now, onto the reason I posted:
As the machine noise got familiar to my ears, like your neighbour doing the lawn when you're taking a nap, I started to feel relaxed and the fact that I was lying down felt really good.
Not awake but not asleep, that's how I was. And the initial pain turned into pleasure, like a massage.
The last bit was not that cool because my arm started to get soured and hurt by the pressure that the American was putting on it.
I don't know if this is related to your original post Increator, but I guess it's all to do with our nervous system and how the brain interprets sensations.
There is nothing wrong with you in the same way I don't consider myself a masochist.
Here's something by Fernando Pessoa:
     "De sábio e de louco,
       Temos todos um pouco...
        Não façam pouco,
         Que o amor é louco."

Reporting from Portugal:

Here, at Europe's tail, the crisis has arrived. Not because there is a direct implication with American trades or commerce but simply because everybody that can do it, take advantage of this so-called crisis.
Here, where the sun never turns its back and the sea vomits salty fish every 5 minutes, the prices have gone higher than Shaun Ryder's underpants  because government regulation fails under the big speculators hands.
Well, at least the banks are holding on and apart from one or two false alarms, there is no indication that one should go bankrupt.
I run a coffee shop on a tourist location in the south of Portugal and I actually did not make a profit this year. Bills are paid but no money in the bank.
Well, zero is always better than having huge debts.

Over and out.

Ryan: I like the first one. The second example does not look natural, it has to much blue.

TerranRich, you are right, I didn't explain it well.
We get to see blue during daytime because light coming from the sun is scattered when bumping into our atmosphere molecules, and warm colors like red and yellow get absorbed, while the blue color can reach us.
It has to do with light frequency and wavelenght.

Well, during the daytime, the white light coming from the sun refracts on our atmosphere into the full spectrum of colors we know. Our eyes compact everything into blue and thats how we see the blue sky.
I guess that, and forgive me my ignorance, when an artist has to do night paintings he chooses a dark blue instead of just plain black or grey shades.
If the reason is not artistic I too would like to know why the night is represented in blue.

Hi abstauber, here are two palletes I found on the net that Van Gogh used for some of his works at night.
They are simple versions but may help you:

I just want to say that I can't believe the reaction of some of you guys!
I mean, was it that bad what I said?
It was a joke.
My computer broke many times guys and it will again.
Akatosh didn't seem upset with me and if you take a closer look at what I wrote you'll find out I wasn't disrespectful in any way.
Well, I apologize for the damage I've done.

It would help me a lot as well.
CTRL+F does help but that would be even better.

Oliwerko, software can and will damage your computer if you don't use original stuff. Believe me.
A computer will fail from time to time and there is always a reason for it, it may be hardware or software.
Can you get me some of those russian sites...er, porn you said? And what do you mean by protection? :=

I'm afraid you'll be getting a lot of...dare I say...THE BLUE SCREEN...

It happened with me a few years ago, but I used to play non-original games all the time, doing images of DVDs on the hard drive and such, downloading stuff all the time from not safe contents and I guess it's just the wrong way.
I learned my lesson and got a laptop that I only use with proper original software.

If it's not the power supply (it happens a lot, believe me, specially with high temperatures) then I guess it's something related to the boards, RAM, graphics card or sound card, they sometimes burn! Your computer will not start if they burned.

Try to start it again and access the setup if you can.

Yeah, it happened to me also, when you first posted I got in and saw something like "Broken Sword 2.5 released today", and then, a while ago it went KAPUT!
I hope I can get it today.
