I know what you mean, you would like a way to keep characters easy and quick to draw,
like a template sprite for each gender, and then you would just have to, say, add a moustache or hat, shoes, hair color or lenght.
I again advise you to look at SouthPark characters, they are poorly though stylish designed.
Your last character looks very good, btw, why don't you try to change dress colors and hair colors to see if you can make other convincing and charismatic characters?
I guess the more depth you put on a sprite the harder it gets to do all the views you want, it's the price one pays to have good characters

Hi there,
custom functions had to go on the Global Script and then imported (AGS 2.72, the one I use),
if it's not the way it works with V3.0 then forget my post.
Other than that what Akatosh said.

Hi Stupot, well I guess that you really don't need and should not shade his face. Because, In-Game, the light source(s) will not allways be on that side, so the shading wouldn't be correct.
You could try to choose a lighter color for the shading process as well and I would only aply it in places like the chin or cheeks or even for a contour line.
Ah, and the character looks cool! :) I love the pants beeing too short, it gives him the 'mad' look!

Hi, I think it looks cool and I like the jungle-fell it brings, (like you're playing an adventure game :))
I would pay atention at the leaves on the palm tree to the right, they look like an octopus (the left palm tree looks good);
Also, the dirt trail and the bright green grass look flat, you can easily change that by adding some leaf-like edges and mix up some browns and greens.
Everything else looks cool and professional , specialy the sky/clouds and the left palm tree and ship/plane
What res did you use and what program?

I would go for the original idea (maybe it's the bold lines on InCreator's) as well.
The concept reminds me of SouthPark and I think it could work really well on a adventure game.

Ildu said most of what I wanted to say but in my opinion this are only details and (as mentioned before) givven critic because you want to excell on graphics.
You can make a good piece of computer art with that screen of yours, just keep going.
I ask again, is it a still/intro screen or will it be in game?

Just a question, ( because I plan on doing some 1st person dungeon like old-dos rpg's used to have):
because you're going for the 1stPerson view it means you'll have close shots (screens) of things you'll want to examine, right? I guess it's going to be hard-work because in a square room there will be at least five diferent screens if you only count one direction. You can simplify things by using empty walls but that's still lots of work there!
I'm asking because your screenies show the room on a tuneling view, like through a lense, am I explaining myself right?

Hi there, well first and most important: I would play that character anytime, looks really cool. Plus, it is asking for good animations, so go for it!!!
But take the moustache or add a big fluffy one! :)

thanks Ghost! I love the c64, I used to dream about it before I had one.
By that time, I was told (by a uncle of mine) that the computers used on the spaceshuttle that took man to the moon wasn't as powerfull as the c64! I was in shock! It made me want the c64 even more!
The blue screen... it still visits me on my dreams, sometimes.
