Cheers Baron, you're very kind,
and noted!

I'm doing a OSD game right now and must complete it (a blood promise to Ponch) before continuing part2 of Ancient Aliens, but the intro for AA2 is already done with animations and all. The plot is written already and this just means I've got to get working on it!

That's where they aim first!

In my country people that are nominated for international awards but don't win any are made ridicule for the rest of their lives. It's not that bad considering that not being nominated results in weekly stonings by the local folk. Now that's embarrassing: buying bread from the guy that just hit you with a rock in the nose.
Just wanted you to know that.

Fair enough.

Yeah I know, would love to, but I'll be working at that time.
If there's a chance I'll try to visit you guys on my day off.

You may be correct but from the clan's point of view it may be a great chance for them to become "legit". I don't think they'd be insulted by us from asking.

QuoteI've actually been to Portugal several times. Nice place. Lots of short people offering to get you high.

Those are gipsies 90% of the time. Don't trust them.
Looks like you're going to Sintra. Great choice! Do visit the Palacio da Pena. It's a fantastic place. It's been several years since I went there but it's as beautiful as any monument/palace you'll see across Europe.

In my opinion although they are indeed several times stronger than us, they lack the status we can offer as a kingdom. As for the letter of marque I did a little checking and I believe it could benefit us.

In the days of fighting sail, a letter of marque and reprisal was a government licence authorizing a person (known as a privateer) to attack and capture enemy vessels and bring them before admiralty courts for condemnation and sale. Cruising for prizes with a letter of marque was considered an honorable calling combining patriotism and profit, in contrast to unlicensed piracy, which was universally reviled.

I agree and it's never enough to thank you for this game again.
Thank you WHAM.

You're right, my mistake.

If Rorik is afraid of staying at a inn it clearly means someone is after him. We need to know more before we give him shelter.
I know we need friends and immediate danger isn't our concern but who the hell scares him so much?
I say we do things subtly but do it.

> Grant Rorik the privilege of dinning with the King, Jesterino and Lancelot, at the end of the day and turn (this should be our last action). The purpose of our warm, candlelit meal is to allow Rorik to tell us of his travels and adventures. Doing it at the end of the day(turn) will allow us to keep him standing by and us to carry on all the orders of the day.

Rorik was indeed the reason for this dinner.
Where is he?

I completely missed the pond!
Anyway, the demo left me with the will to play more, so...

>Ask Baron if any nation considers him an enemy and if we as a kingdom can get retaliations for using his services;

I personally agree with making the deal, we need gold. But would also like to hear what he has to say about his piracy deeds.
And, like Radiant, I think that flag is something pirates would use, not kings.

QuoteIf not for AGS and the Elvis impersonation society to which I also belong, I fear I would have no sense of grounding whatsoever! ;)

OMG! I can't believe we share both AGS AND Elvis passions! I too have a weekend Elvis reunion since 2003!
I was Best Sideburn 2007 March and September awards and won a Pot Belly Decade Award last year!

The world is a funny place...

Thanks for the tips Ghost, I may have given up too fast!

But I think your crowd would love to see TEH EXPLOSIONS OF TEH SMOKING HOWLS!
Would you ever do a remake (using AGS) of that first game? Please?

Hi yamipanda, I wish you a great time on our forums!
Beware of dancing cows, ghosts, false barons and specially onion sellers.
#598
Yeah Ghost, show us the original stuff!
Anyway, I remember playing this gem of a game and getting stuck at the same point as well!
How do I get the lanterns out of the sign? With knife? Bob doesn't let me take it! And the second frog behind the other sign, I can't reach it!

Ghost, it's a gorgeous demo you've got there, do finish it!

The favourite place I posted houses 16, which I thought was a fair estimate given the current interest (19 who would attend assuming it wasn't only taking place in their home countries...).  Maybe I'll post another poll later, and send out a message to all previous Mittens attendees to draw their attention.

miguel, how good is Vilamoura for access to other places (Lisbon or Faro, for instance) that may have more of interest?

Sorry, didn't see this post before.
From Faro Airport to Vilamoura is pretty close. You can even get a taxi if you're okay with money.
To Lisbon, there's the train like someone posted here and buses as well. It's a 3 hour journey more or less.
Like I said, Vilamoura is okay for the sun but Lisbon is completely different regarding things to see. I'd choose Lisbon (or Porto) always, but that's me who lives pretty near Vilamoura and know all the Algarve.
