Seriously, it seems to me that this item, although cursed with some inevitable harmful consequence when used, is vital to fight some darker forces that will undoubtedly attack us somewhere in the future. Maybe our fate as a mortal will be doomed the moment we use it but doing it may save our kingdom.

I too have some doubts about the gift, and like Tabata explained, why is the former King that had it dead? If the gift is so powerful shouldn't it have saved him from us? Or are the powers concealed in the gift of a magic nature and can not save the bearer from the steel of a sword?
I think we can bend the rules a bit:

Adeel, picking up on what Ryan said, please don't forget that IF one of your comments by any chance is the ONLY one given to WHAM he will process it. I believe you were joking but there is a risk when doing it.
Stuff like "pick your nose" or "sing a song" will do us little harm if executed but anything more may bring problems.

I'm in PARIS!!!!

Arrived at the hotel around 9.30pm, after a somewhat stressing (not really) trip, and took the wife for a couple of french beer (heineken really, the french can't make proper beer!) and went back to the hotel. First thing I do after telling family that we are okay? I check the forums!

I don't know Ghost that well but he comes across as an incredibly nice guy. I've actually grown to really appreciate that in life. Most people you meet are nice, but very few genuinely are.
