QuoteActually, Miquel guessed this movie as a joke a while back, so I was sure it would be an easy win for him.
Thanks Ponch, but I feel a bit offended when you say "as a joke" because I take this competition very seriously.;)

I'd guess this last one is Top Secret?

Interesting...

Is it Tron?

I was simply tricked into AGS, the brochure said I could make the best game ever. Soon I realized that quitting my porn-theatre janitor career was a bad mistake.
I now linger this forums...I've grown a beard...don't bathe...I often wear sandals...I'm half the man I used to be...

Stillinthe90's, I didn't solve it, I release it as DD5.
Monkey, I'm pretty sure having DD5 or D3D changes things around, specially with object walkbehinds.

The Ponch Bladers?

It happened to me while making Ancient Aliens, if your computer does not support pixel shaders it will produce weird stuff like walk-behinds not working.

I can't remember blue aliens on Escape From Colditz...
That screen has some really nostalgia effect on me though.

Would the game have the "junctions" ability?

Just want to inform you that The Mole People are copyrighted material...Not Chuck, just the Mole guys.

It reminds me of the PSOne version of FF7 or 8, can't remember.
The backgrounds are really nice.
Good luck with it!

Don't want to sound rude but I have the same questions as Scavenger. What's the interface like? Could you show some more screenies?
The video shows the same background all the time.
It does look nice but a lot like MI, a game that we all love but has already been re-done professionally.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm just putting your efforts down, it clearly took talent and hard work to produce what you've shown us.

Icey is the guy to talk around here...if you need things done, I mean.
I once had a problem with the community (liquid retention) and Icey took care of some...let's just say that Icey can pull a few strings for you.

He should have taken that piece to the fight with Ivan Drago.

I can't remember the combination right now, but will PM you as soon as possible with the solution! Sorry!

Thanks magintz, I enjoyed reading your thoughts.

I'll follow your recipe totally when looking at a good adventure game, but there's a but:
puzzles: they have to be part of the story, IMO. Add a funny, semi-illogical puzzle here and there for nostalgia sake is fine but that's it.

Adventure games were all about taking me away from my home to somewhere else. But at my pace, calmly, and enjoying a smoke while playing.

Adeel, thanks so much for playing Ancient Aliens. I'm really glad you enjoyed it and had fun with it.
We did take a lot of time on writing the script. Chet and Vivian relationship is the key here but they were completely strangers at the start of the game, and the temptation to jump states was big although I think we managed to do it at a slow, steady pace.

The puzzles took me a lot of work as well and I'm proud it did. I believe I made it so that they are part of the gameplay and not something you have to do it because there's no other way to progress the story.

As for the references to "Barely Floating", you're not the first person to say that but I assure you that it wasn't my intention. I played that game after. But being put along such a great game is very rewarding. So thanks.

About the walk-behind glitches, that's due to the Direct3D you used. Please stick to DirectDraw.
I know, I've read Dave Gilbert post and he was kind enough to send it to me a few months ago. The next instalment will have most of his recommendations.

.pdf or .txt sounds good. Will work on it.

Adeel, you were very kind and I hope to produce a better chapter soon!
