Don't forget to pick up a pair of X-Ray glasses for that surprise easter egg in Raseir.  ;)

Maybe we should rename the thread to 'International Women's Day thread (otherwise known as a place where dudes can hash out past arguments)'?

Hmm definitely sounds like a western. I'm guessing that relatively recent one on Netflix...The Ballad of...(can't remember the name!)

The monochrome and setting loosely reminds me of The Last Half of Darkness, which scared the living sh*zen out of me back in the day!  (laugh) Looks like a cool project!

I caught about an hour of the Twitter (Jack Dorsey and Vijaya Gadde; Vijaya is head of policy and trust at Twitter) and Tim Pool talk. Very interesting to listen to Vijaya describe the challenges of preserving free speech while also upholding a line of what sort of language and conduct requires intervention. As she says many times, so much of the free speech debate comes down to context, its interpretation, and having a policy that is capable of identifying behavior versus content.

Nice   8-) never heard of this guy. Sounds like what I imagine progressive 1960s America to be.

I read The Deptford Trilogy, which is considered a Canadian classic by most even though it is not that old (completed between 1970 and 1975). It follows...I guess it's two generations of families that have connection to a spectrum of Canadian society as well as loose connections to the UK and US. A very interesting read and very good in addressing Canadian identity and it's relationship with its colonial ancestors and rebel neighbours.

For anyone that has read it, I find the specific story of Magnus Eisengrim very tragic, despite his success. The description of how a specific moment in youth can define the entire trajectory of a person's life is so raw. Boy and the snowball is another example of how seconds can completely propel a person --with or without their consent-- on a path they cannot get out of.

Very highly recommended.

LBA2
I just adore the aesthetics of Little Big Adventure 2. Something about the engine and how it pre-renders the background whenever the camera moves, is just beautiful to me.

Never played it, but I LOVED Little Big Adventure. How did LBA2 compare on story?

Looks really cool, dude. The style reminds me of the Phantasmagoria and 7th Guest days.

I also think it looks Sierra-esque. One of the Leisure Suit Larrys?

Why is everybody picking on this humble water filter salesman?

I liked Joe Rogan in News Radio. I like his guests, but the few times I've watched (Macaulay Culkin, Elon Musk), Joe's guests have gone over his head.

Haha Macauley going over anyone's head says a lot about them! The Elon Musk interview was interesting. Elon's opinions are pretty simple, but you can tell he's formed them after a lot of thought.

I don't know. There was this bit where Macaulay was trying to talk about whether an artist has the right to change his or her work after it's published and he used Leonardo Da Vinci coming back to change the Mona Lisa as an example. Macaulay tried several times to get the conversation back on track, but Joe just wouldn't stop doing impersonations of Italians.

Yes, I think the Elon Musk interview was interesting, but purely for Elon. Joe didn't really add anything, other than offering the guy a blunt.

Also, Ali, funny you would think Macaulay is centre right. Most people outside of a vegan naturist preserve would call him left leaning.

I think Ali was talking about Rogan - right or center right.  (laugh)
