Just watched the play through of the demo. Looks great! You probably hate being asked this, but how long do you think before you launch it?

Yep! My brother and I were full on Bloodlust fanboys back in the early internet days. You can't really mistaken the artwork style.

Your go.  ;)

seems like it stays at some value for some time, fluctuates a bit and then drops further. It is better to buy at the lowest price, but who knows when the bottom is reached?

Yeah it is impossible to know. However, if you look at market cap, there are generally two year intervals between peak popularity and trough. The overarching popularity of Bitcoin keeps increasing, but the highs and lows relative to the period seem to oscillate around a two year iteration.

Now you'll see a select few sites and gurus telling you what a great time it is to buy bitcoin. They'll get more and more hysterical as time goes on. "At these basement prices you'd have to be INSANE not to buy the dip."

The truth is an alternative currency would've been great to have with what's about to happen with the world debt bazaar, if the design of it weren't so incredibly stupid.

By the way, I have this great currency based on burning tires you might be interested in. The pollution is a concern, but it's self-regulating.

But Jack isn't Bitcoin sort of banking on energy in the world becoming greener with time? I get your point - at the moment you've got millions of computers using tons of energy to keep BTC alive. However, we can assume that at some point in the future (maybe decades or a century from now), this same energy is going to be generated from much more sustainable sources?

It's interesting to look at market cap: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-marketcap.html

It's a litmus test of interest in cryptocurrency in general, and we can see here that it is very much leaning towards pre-2017 boom levels. I buy chunks of BTC and some alts here and there in general anticipation of the whole scene coming back someday. Anyone else doing the same?

Looks like one of those old freeware Gamemaker games.

Haha Gamemaker! My God, haven't thought about that in years and years. I remember my friend got that for his birthday and we were into it like a religion developing our own little game. Unfortunately, the software was super buggy, so the screen would sometimes go black while scrolling, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless.

Nope, not a Gamemaker game!

Hint: this game was made by someone that is now active on the AGS forums, but it was not made with the AGS engine!

I've always said that Gamification and Imagery is the future of Education. Imagine having adventure games, visual novels and simulation games back in high school or elementary school.

I remember tutoring a coupe of Korean kids that read comics that taught real historical events in entertaining ways. I'm not sure if the comics were originally Korean, but they were definitely entertaining, and the kids loved them.

I'm assuming others catch this show once in a while. Often I hear guests talking about one subject or another and I think - 'hey I'd like to chat about that myself!', so I thought I'd start a thread within which this can happen.

The episode I listened to this morning was with Brian Cox, who is a physicist that shared some interesting thoughts on the subject of the universe's expansion. A lot of it was over my head, but I thought it was cool that light from the original Big Bang can be today viewed from Earth using special instruments. Also the idea that if you were to fly into a black hole, space and time at some point switch, so you are essentially travelling further and further distances even though time isn't progressing relative to the outside of the black hole (as opposed to standing still and time still carrying on) - or at least that's what I thought he said. Too much for my brain to compute, honestly.  :P

Anyone else catch this episode or want to discuss a subject or guest from another episode?

Oh OK, I think I might have seen part of Louder than Bombs, too. Rings a bell. I'm definitely not confusing it with the French one I mentioned, as the scene where the dad shoots himself (randomly in public while standing alone on a side street) has burned itself into my memory...wish I could remember the name. It was a cool movie. If anyone reads this and knows what I'm talking about, please share the name.

Oh is it a French movie? I remember something about a movie producer with family that ends up killing himself halfway through and the rest of the film is the family carrying on. Depressing, but pretty well filmed.

I'd be good to meet during my vacation in July, but we would need something drivable from Ottawa, Canada.  :embarrassed: Were you thinking Canada/US? Europe somewhere? I never attended a Mittens, but always wanted to give it a go!

'Grown up' Mittens is likely to be Australia this year. This thread is about a more family friendly spin off.

That's what I meant. I would be going with my wife and son.
