Street Fighter?

TIL Oxford and Cambridge dictionaries only include ‘coup’ as a noun. Webster’s is what makes it grammatically possible to coup something. 🇺🇸

As per usual I'll let myself out...

So we’ve got second generation Sierra art coupled With third generation Sierra point n click. This must be an AGS game.

I'm just happy there wasn't...

...a jump scare. The whole time I was playing I was expecting the door to burst open and some cheap scare to end the game. Thanks for not doing that. (laugh)

Looks like Steve Buscemi and Peter Fonda in the same movie  (laugh) I’m stumped.

OutKast - Humble Mumble

Yeah, that's a great track and a really interesting album. I'm not huge into hiphop, but I've always appreciated Outkast's exploratory style.

Very cool concept. The pacing in the game is great.

Spoiler
Love the pausing as each message gets produced. Some really great moments of suspense like finding out the door is being held closed and not locked and finding out the messages were pre-written. The game is clearly surrealist. I sort of presumed the player is trapped in their own mind, like they knew all the answers to the questions ahead of time and were still holding themselves hostage in behind an unlocked door. They’re in a waiting room but no one else is waiting, I.e. there’s no line up to achieving salvation; they can free themselves if the wish.

Just so you know: choosing to stay in the room causes the game to freeze (at least for me). I watched the ending videos included in the game folder, but I don’t think these are loading properly in the game.

Hi Hector,

Check out a game called 'Crave'. Ego can activate x-ray vision by shaking the cursor back and forth. Maybe the developer could help you out with what you need.
Here it is: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/624/

I'm actually kind of curious about this myself. I have never done it, but this vid seems to have pretty clear instructions that I'm assuming are accurate (?). The comments section has a number of questions/answers that might be helpful, too.

It's almost cliche to post this, but The Room really was awesome. My wife and I were in tears because it was so bad/good. Clips from the movie in the below spoiler if anyone wants a walk down memory lane  (laugh)

I've yet to see this and I fear I missed the zeitgeist to fully appreciate the so-bad-it's-goodness of it. Part of the appeal seemed to be groups of friends endlessly quoting it to each other. If I suddenly watch it and start quoting it to my friends who have seen it, it wouldn't be the same.

It's honestly so unique in its badness that it has become timeless in ways. Below is the full movie. It's YouTube so the two completely separate lovemaking scenes from the first twenty minutes ((laugh)) are blurred, but the rest of its glory is all there:

The Overnight was released in 2015 to good/meh reception, but it's so far the best movie I've seen in 2020. If you haven't seen it, don't read anything about it and give it a try. It's unpredictable in ways, which is part of its charm (at least it was for me ~ every five minutes I was like "wait, what?!" (laugh)) IMDB as per usual got it wrong and scored it 6.1.

Birdman - The filming style and stage-within-a-stage stuff seemed cool, and the characters seemed interesting, and a New York theatre troupe is a cool setting...but I've tried twice and can't make it through this movie. I don't even know why. I just cannot get myself to care about the plot.
