I've had the happy Fez opening track in my head all *@&#ing day. Not complaining, but is just a release to actually hear it.

Favourite game soundtracks? Let's hear them! ....

It reminds me of that period when people were taking a Garfield strip and removing the text and calling it a joke. I guess the humour was partly in the fact that there is no real punchline, so it creates a bit of an absurdist scene - people are examining an unfunny work closely looking in vain for something to laugh at. (Still unfunny in my book, but maybe I'm too much of a simpleton to understand it. (laugh))

"Gooby pls" cartoons certainly aren't for everyone, but I find this particular one very funny  :=

I'm feeling like an outsider because I'm not sure I quite understand the humour.  :-[ It seems to cross an extremely simple joke (the type a four year old would tell) with violence and then distorts everything slightly. Is part of the humour in its shock value?

Concept is hilarious, and that bird looks like a complete a-hole which is very fitting. (laugh) The art looks so polished for a 'joke project'. Looking forward to this!

Bono and Edge are indeed talented:

Love this thread. (laugh) Great tracks guys, but I got to take issue with:

Easily the 2 best Duran Duran tracks.

...  :-D best aside from:

I hadn't heard of Phoebe Bridgers before. Wow she sounds like a talent well beyond her years.

After watching Broken Flowers, I got really into Ethiopian jazz through the Éthiopiques series.

I love that movie! I think I love Ehtiopian jazz now, too. I had no idea that was even a thing. :)

By the way, are you Uncle John?  :)

Wow cool project! Thanks for sharing. Will you be releasing PDF activities to be printed and engaged while the kids are watching the videos?

I really like that track, Babar. Nice!

It reminds me a little of this (for some reason the sound drops out two thirds of the way through, but you get the idea):

Lol what is this?! To be honest this isn't half bad! I like the play on tempo and pitch, and the raw refrain is weirdly catchy. (I hope I'm not be rick-rolled by some polished group trying to sound indie, but it's actually a pretty catchy track in its own way.)

The 90s WERE rad!

I think I was introduced to "Awesome Tapes from Africa" through Inkoddi here on the forums years ago, but found this song later. Almost everyone I share it with has a negative first reaction to it, but I think it's bangin'!  :=
I was grooving to it until the vocals kicked in.  It just didn't seem to fit the tone.  By a couple of minutes into the track, though, I was back into it.

My current track:

Awesome chill out tune! Never heard of these guys before. And down the YouTube rabbit hole we gooooo

Haha those harmonies at 2:09 aren't bad. Any other tracks by them you'd recommend?

Some of those old Amiga games had really incredible graphics for their time.

I don't have any memory of Third Eye Blind from the nineties. I don't think I ever hear their musicâ€"or if I did, I didn't notice.

It looks like their nineties stuff never charted in Norway, and they're relatively unknown here (the band doesn't have a Norwegian Wikipedia page, for example). I only came to know their biggest hit as the intro song to the BlueCupTools podcast.

I know the song through American Pie (I checked and that film wasn't released in Norway until December 1999 so there's a chance you didn't see it in the nineties), but yeah, other than that they were not a band on my radar either.

Today I listened to a song from the same era that always comes back to me every summer.

I remember these guys. Catchy song, but the video is a full on tutorial of how to look like a complete 90's D-bag. (laugh)

Uplay is giving away Assassin's Creed 2, Rayman Legends and Child of Light for free!

Having played all three, you don't want to miss this, especially the latter two are the most beautiful games I've ever played, and both Rayman Legends and Child of Light are two of my all time favorites!

Thanks! Was looking for something to play with my son. Those last two look perfect. ;)

It's funny you should mention Thru the Eyes of Ruby. I remember a group I hung out with for a while in high school were super into Mellon Collie and found that to be the album defining track. I always really liked it too, the sort of build-up riff (I learned it on guitar; it keeps letting the B string ring open which feels cool while you're playing). Also the effects around the 'breathing underwater, living under glass' part sound so dreamy/watery.
