:~(

For Layne? Yeah he was such a unique voice. It's also unique how blended his sound is with Cantrell's. They were a cool group for sure.

OK I stand corrected. I full on thought that question was going to derail the thread for months!

Let the random guessing begin!

Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Edison?

Can we at least get some nationalities or a century or something that narrows it a bit? Cheers

Yes, it is Spanish - it is a piece of eight and first put into circulation around 1500. Thank you for walking us through how you pulled the answer together, Laura. You know way more about it than I ever could without the help of Wikipedia! (laugh)

Its significance probably depends on who you asked, but I just remember hearing on that 'History of the World in 100 Objects' BBC podcast that most attribute it as the first truly 'international currency', as its stability made it attractive for trade pretty much anywhere in the western world, its varies colonies, and even beyond. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ahistoryoftheworld/objects/JO391t6cRtGxstjbE4EEmg

Anyway, your go Laura Hunt!

Bernie Sanders was recently on the show. Nice, long interview with a lot of in-depth replies:

https://youtu.be/2O-iLk1G_ng

Just wondering if anyone thinks he was softballed

Actually, I'm a little annoyed that they didn't touch on how he was screwed over by the DNC (leaked in emails)

I finally got around to listening to this. Gurok, yeah wasn't a super intense interview or anything, but why do you say you think Bernie was softballed?

Bernie's on the money on so many subjects. Tying together gun violence and failures of the medical system to be available to people before their conditions progress to 'shooting in public is a good idea' is pretty obvious. Actually his whole identifying corporations as soulless leeches sapping profit at the expense of the public's wellbeing sounds about right.

Mite hasn't logged in since he posted that correct answer, so let's carry on without them. Next question:

What is this? What significance do most people credit it with?

Candyman? But I know for sure it is not the original, so perhaps that 'Farewell to the Flesh' sequel or whatever it was called?

Do they create some sort of 3D effect for the wearer? Like an early 3D film of sorts?

(laugh) Same face I make in my Brit-heavy office when everyone kicks it 1300 AD and compares weight using a stone.

5'0?! 6'7?! The dad joke part of my brain is in overdrive. Did you have to call him to talk? Did he warn you of inclement weather? Did you take a nap in his pocket?

Sorry! Had to let it out.  :-D

I enjoyed it too, but I found Bill Murray's appearance in it to feel quite forced.
