Three months ago it was free too, I got it that time. But it's nice to see it like that, for more people to give it a shot without those dirty resource amount limitations :P (IDK, I always get annoyed by them even if I'm trying to learn about the workflow in a game engine).

Thanks for the news!

PD.: Bless AGS for being free <3.

Reading a little on the help file, here it says why it sometimes moves the character to the other side of the room.
QuoteIf newPosition is not specified or is 0, the character will be placed on the opposite side of the new room, if he is within 10 pixels of a room edge in the current room.
You should read the help file, as there is much more details about why it does it.

As for the character being on a non-walkable area, I think it's normal too. If I'm not mistaken, something I can be because I've not used this engine enough, ChangeRoomAutoPosition() preserves either the X or Y position, depending on the edge the character was closer to. So, if your previous room walkable area doesn't matches the new room one, like...

Your player will be stuck, sometimes.

There is a function that may do the trick fixing this. Try using player.PlaceOnWalkableArea()

Heheh... more discussion about the fonts, but it's all I want to say aside from the fact of the beautifulness of your spriting technique <3.
Haven't you considered dropping TTF and using a bitmap font instead? Either making one, or getting one, or converting your TTF one to bitmap and thinkering a little with it (though making a standard 5~7pt font it's not hard).
And fixing the "Luxury Station V" text. It's way too blurry.
(Anyway, me hating the antialiasing algorithms "OTL).

Anyway, I'll be looking forward for any news regarding this game.

From what I have read in this post (mostly flood ¬¬), I can only say to Icey that:
1-Start to plan deeply your game, not just a name (making a fangame is not a good idea xd, or at least i think so).
2-If you want to integrate a coded system, you need to make a start with coding. If you don't know how to do something, better to look something made, not to say that you need someone to make your game. The stuff that Khris said at the start of the topic are good things to think about ;D.
3-The RPG tutorial that you mentioned at the start, as you see, is not planned for AGS3 neither a... detailed? battle system. BUT! It has some important topics to consider when you start your planning at the making of your RPG. Starting from the structures and stuff (magic and equipment data, enemies...) , then planning how to read those structures or if they're injected in the coding... and at last...! making the graphical stuff.

I hope that my flatter doe't sounded like nonsense, best regards,
L'ark Mitsinikos

PD.: I used RPG Maker for several years and I don't see it easier. It's the same, as the only thing that changes is the editor and the pre-build engine, but at both cases you're making a game, and it doesn't changes.

Hmmm well, here it is. I have not much to say, so I will start showing some sprites made for my project in AGS. Also note that I have started this week, so I don't have done a lot of sprites xd.
For informational purposes, I will say that the project in which I am working on is supposed to be an Adventure RPG game (mostly Adventure, but with RPG influences and features), as I wanted to make some hard modification to the gameplay. I know that I'm not that experienced with the AGS, but for now it doesn't seems bad anyway ;D, as my experience is based in other game making editors and I am exploring and learning as the time passes.
Said everything, let's start!

In work...

Just started

Redesigning

(here are the two designs that i have thinked, both not being to be the final form as I'm redesigning the costume).

Best regards,

Hello comrades of game making. My real name is Orlando, but for forum activities i prefer to be called L'ark. Ahem... I'm from Costa Rica, something a bit far from the main base of this forum (England "i suppose?"). My main intention to be here is to help and be helped, I'm not very old in the AGS stuff but I have some experience in some other popular game making editors (and some non-popular ones xd).
Anyway, I'm mostly a Graphic Artist, from drawing (manga style) to pixelart. I have some experience, I'm not the God but I think that I'm good enough for simple things :). Also I like to make some scripting, like my first attempt in the AGS (a status window and some stats formulas, simple for us starters ;D).
My ambition by now is to make an adventure game with some tints of RPG. I don't see exactly what I'm looking done, so I will be scripting it for the sake of my ambition. That equals to: I will make some modules for community use ;D, but in the near-far future...

Enjoy yourselves and your lives, and enjoy AGS ;D, best regards,
L'ark Mitsinikos
