Hey, thanks a bunch aikex222! Hope you enjoyed it. :D
Quote from: AprilSkiesNow I figured out that I like a lot the gfx style 'casue it is so Franco-belgian school comics!
Well, we grew up with comics like TinTin or Asterix & Obelix (or polish ones, like Kajko i Kokosz), so that would explain a whole lot.

The graphics style kind of reminds me of the "Rocko's Modern Life" cartoon from Nickelodeon.

Spoiler
When I played the game there was an earthquake and the grail fell in a chasm as I recall so I left it there. Maybe Indy could have used his whip to pull it up?

If they are old enough to read, then I would think they are old enough to play games. Though while they are young you may want to start them off with educational titles and make sure all games they play are age appropriate.

Are there any benefits to choosing the permadeath option? One of the online games I play has a permadeath server, but the XP and skill gain are both at 10 times the rate for the nonPD server (hence why I play it).

Many thanks for the Recommendations.

Can anybody recommend a free program for editing spreadsheets? My old PC had excell, but it crashed and the new PC didn't come with microsoft office pre-installed.

The artwork kind of reminds me of "Where the Wild Things Are". Is the face on O'Sirus' vest able to talk?

Actually, given the text based nature of the original you may be better off using a parser based engine like Adrift or Quest. Plus they both have support for automap, though their graphics abilities may not be as robust as AGS.

For the maps simple diagrams of boxes for the rooms connected by lines to show pathways should be fine, You don't need to be terribly artistic. Though I understand your point about not mapping planets you haven't explored yet. It'd be great if somebody came up with an automap module, but I imagine that would be quite difficult to code in AGS. Perhaps put the maps for the rest of the planets in a separate folder, for those who really need them. Are the areas at least laid out in a fairly logical manner that would make mapping by the player reasonably easy?

Maybe include a map in the docs? While working on the game you should hopefully get a feel for how the station and other areas are laid out which would be helpful in creating any maps. Plus the maps could not only be helpful to the player, but may also prove helpful when designing the game as well.

Though it is somewhat sad that the game won't me made with AGS, I wish you good luck with the project.

Any news for the next Nelly Cootalot game? Pirates are cool. http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=47753.0

Fun fact: Science has been proven that bumblebees are too heavy to fly. The current theory is that they're powered by the rare isotope idontcareium.

Wasn't it aerodynamics that said bumblebees couldn't fly? Guess science could use some updating.

Now if we only had some Scooby Doo sprites to make an AGS game with...

Heh... guess I'm not really up on my American slang expressions.  If that's what they are.

Are there shoes called Loafers? :P

That's the correct answer! Those last riddles were a bit of pun...

What kind of shoe is best for stealthy movement?
Sneakers?

What kind of shoe do lazy people wear?
Slacks?

You got the first one. Though for the second one you gave a type of pants rather than shoe.

On a serious note, I second the Trilby games, especially 5 days and Trilby's Notes. Hopefully they would be more directed toward the mystery and thrills rather than turning it in to a hack-n-slash screamer.

Here's a third vote for a movie based on the Trilby games!

I made a tiny program to calculate planetary density and gravity if you give the planets mass and radius in relation to Jupiter's (IE 0.6 Jupiter radii and 1.8 Jupiter mass).

Is there any way to get more torch fuel if you run low? Also I'd suggest making a light version without the speech pack for people with slower connections.
