Unless you're selling the game then you could always rip sprites from commercial games. Also I think Reality on the Norm has made their artwork open source for use in AGS games.

Cyborgs are cool. So will he be able to assimilate others and turn them into vampires and/or cyborgs? Will his cybernetic makeup give him resistance to sunlight? It looks like daytime or dusk/dawn in some of the screenshots.

Think "It Watches"  would sound more ominous than "He Watches". A "he" could just be some guy where as an "it" could imply something that that is utterly inhuman.

If your going with names of occultists you could call it "Crowley Manor"

The other day I had a dream that I was trying to predict the 2012 elections with a crystal ball and it told be that Bachmann would win. Whether it was referring to the primary or general elections I'm not sure. While she could conceivably win the primary lets hope for all our sakes that she would lose the general.

I found a pretty good summary here, at SA.

Doesn't that infuriate any of you, even a little?  Have the wealthy and powerful themselves become TOO BIG TO FAIL?
Yes, but it's not like that's new.

While it would be quite satisfying to see Rupert Murdoch thrown in jail it would feel even better if they seized all his assets and sentenced him to 25 years of community service and living in poverty. Split up News Corp and sell off the various pieces.

Even if an Item has no use for solving any puzzles it would be nice if there were still responses for when you tried to use it by itself or on something else. Leisure Suit Larry 5 did it this way as I recall and it was interesting to see what all the various responses would be for all the wacky things you tried to do.

They got new Futurama starting this week on Comedy Central, and the censors over there are a lot more lax then those over on the Fox network.

When I first played the "Broken Sword" games it was on a computer with no sound effects, so it was a while before I found out that Nico was supposed to be French. Perhaps you can mention that the character has a French accent when the player looks at them? Something like:

the inspector wears a beret and has a thin mustache, he greets you in a heavy French accent "Bonjour monsieur!"

I'd love to see Operation UFO succeed.  ;D

Well, it would be a good day for the military to test fly their top secret aircraft that they've been developing.

Quote from: an old gamer
When I was a kid games used to fit on a single floppy! And not one of those fancy, high density kind either! They'd fit on a single, 5 1/4 disk that held 360K! Back in the day we used to play text adventure games like 'Colossal Caves' or arcade games like 'Hard Hat Mac'. Most games only had 4 colors back then and were played on monochrome screens, if you had a color monitor with 16 colors you were considered lucky!

Digitised speech is a luxury that I feel should be optional. If a retro game does take up lots of space then it better have lots of rooms to explore, characters to talk to, and items to collect. It can be quite frustrating downloading a game that's hundreds of megabytes only to be able to beat it in less than a day. (If you're on dial up the download may actually take longer than it does to win!)

In the future the technology will probably only get better and games will get bigger. Then we will be the ones complaining to our children how games used to fit on a single DVD and you only needed a dual core 4gigahertz processor with  8 gigabyte of ram and 2 gigabyte 3D video card to run them.

Has anybody here seen episode 1406 of South Park? I missed the 10 PM airing and when I went to watch the reapeat at midnight they showed a different episode instead. If the prophet Mohammed is depicted respectfully then I have no problem with it. If however he is portrayed in a way that is meant to be offensive then it bothers me. We'd probably be better off sticking to making fun of Bin Laden anyway.

As for the world ending on the 21st if that was going to be the date of rapture now God would change it to make all the doom speakers look like fools, and I imagine that would not leave him too happy.

Can anybody recommend from free programs or software for composing music and editing MIDI files?

When they shot Bin Laden they said they thought he was reaching for a gun and it looks like there were indeed guns in the room where he was shot. So my question is what would the outcry be if instead of killing Bin Laden, they instead shot him in the arm or hand (and possibly blowing it off)?

While it might of have been preferable to take him alive it is still better that he be dead than loose to cause more terror.
Also taking him alive would probably have been much more difficult and place more lives in danger. But if we were to have caught him there would be the question of trial and the cost, Just look at the controversy around the Khalid Sheik Mohammed trial. As for conspiracy, it would be nice if we got to see full autopsy results for Bin Laden. Did they really dump the body in the ocean? Weren't they going to cremate him? That does sound a bit suspicious. At least it should be interesting to see how everybody reacts to the news of his death, I am especially looking forward to "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" this week!

The question now becomes what are we going to do in Afghanistan.

Often times I can tell when I'm dreaming though controlling them is something I find rather difficult, While I can control my own actions fairly well controlling the actions of the rest of the dream environment is a lot harder, Also waking from a dream at will is something I can sometimes do, but often times I can find myself in unpleasant dreams and not realizing it's only a dream and waking up. Occasionally I have dreams that I can't see because my eyes are closed but I know if I try to open them I'll probably wake up.

Got the newer version, Must have unzipped an old one by mistake. Sorry for any inconvenience. Here's what I found in the new version

Spoiler

The crash when entering the shed a second time no longer occurs. Though you may want to have Sal respond differently when looking at items in the shed, especially the bug poison because it's something that could conceivably be used to get rid of Jack.

A new bug I did find in hour 4 is that when Sal clicks on the fallen tree he still gives Jack's response of "I allready got the axe..." before giving his own. Also if Jack didn't all ready take the spray paint from the shed then Sal can swipe it when he enters it.

The zombie is much more evil looking then the green skeleton, Good job with that! :)

If you let Gordy  hang though Jack still refers to The zombie as a skeleton "The skeleton had strung him up on a rope and left him to die."

Perhaps when Jack runs from the zombie when it shows up to claim Gordy Jack can issue some sort of comment when leaving the room or going back in the house so you know he chickened out?

Good to see the problem with giving Darcy the salt and candle have been fixed  :)

Also see that you fixed the problem with giving the star to the ghost before finding out about his pot, but it looks like the topic for police stills shows up early.

You may want to make Astrid check both the cabinet AND the fridge in hour 5 and also have Astrid change into her raincoat before following Jack outside in hour 7.

Also when entering the shed when it's dark in chapter 6 onward you may wish to allow the lighted area to move about the room if that can be done.

Don't think the bit with fighting/running from the wolves needs to be any harder, though a skip button of some sort to bypass the scene would be nice, or maybe allow the player to continue even if the wolves did get him?

EDIT April 30,
Spoiler

The problem with looking at the lower half of the room and getting the response of Gordy and Darcy getting friendly after the attack still sometimes appears though not often, not sure what the triggers are involved though. Maybe after the attack Jack can comment on the mess of broken glass the zombie left in the lower room?

With the title "A Night At Camp Ravenwood" does this mean the game takes place in a single night?

Tried out the new version. Saw that you could now interact with the bones in the cave, but didn't notice any other changes.

There may be some transparent or brown pixels in Astrid's boots when she's facing sideways and walking.

Spoiler

For hour 3 when the ghost hunter looks at the mirror you may want give the mirror a walk to point and have him walk over to it before the skull comes flying out of it so he is facing the correct direction.

Was able to enter the shed once after having all ready been in it, but all other times the game crashed. Might this because I have both the spray paint and gas can in my inventory and they are no longer in the shed? It would be interesting to see Sal's comments about the shed contents, especially the poison.

Still the incongruity of looking down on the lower half of the room after the skeleton takes Gordy and saying he's down there with Darcy.

In hour 6 looking at the telescope before the skeleton attacks doesn't seem to do anything.

How do you get the rope if you let Gordy  hang? Also after I cut him down and then ran away when the skeleton comes to claim him the cabin was dark when I went back inside and Attempting to walk back to either the tree where Gordy was on the the other side of the house where the shed was either made me say that's not the way to the road or just had Jack shrink real tiny, but not actually go there so not sure how running from the skeleton to get extra evil points works.

Attempting to look at the wolf seems to act the same as hitting it with the axe.

Also it appears kind of out of character for Jack and Astrid to be flirting if he let's Gordy  hang to death or if  Gordy's still in peril.

Was still able to give the candle and salt to Darcy in hour 7. Was still able to show the star to the ghost before finding out that he was growing pot in the cave.

For hour 8 when the tentacle attacks I was still able to talk to Darcy. Also my thought was to try and interact with Astrid to grab her and get her away from the tentacle but it just gave me the general response of "... my approach needs work."

Didn't notice any extra scenes at the end of chapter 9 though.

You may want to double check the game files and play test them before uploading the next version to make sure all changes are in place and working properly.

Spoiler

Well after getting the neutral ending and the good ending, I wanted to check out the evil ending so I let Gordy hang since the ghost talks about how you chose to save him at the end.

Some other things to consider is you may want to make it so that in chapter 7 you have to find out that the ghost was growing weed in his cave before you can tell him you're the sheriff come to bust him.
