Hotspots/interactions for everything on the screen would be nice, (pictures on the walls, flower pots, windows of the store, etc) at least the ability to look at them anyway. I was unable to find the logs for the firewood.

Peter looks a bit like Steven Colbert.

You could call your cat Meowser.

As long as the game is done tastefully and with respect then it should be fine.

You may want to check out the interactive fiction game Anchorhead, though I'm not sure where you can get it.

Some regulation is necessary to keep thing working smoothly and no regulation results in unsafe conditions. The lack of proper regulation is part of what led America into the current mess it's in now. If taxes were completely eliminated then the government would have no money to do anything. Education and health care should be provided to people free of charge. By paying for a person to go to medical school the government will increase the number of competent doctors, in turn those doctors who received the free medical training should do community service for a while in order to benefit the whole of society.

There are enough bad apples out there to ruin it for everybody.

The electoral college should be replaced with a popular vote, none of the other American elections use the electoral college system AFAIK. That and they should have one primary where everyone votes instead of having it be state by state. If you live in one of those states that has a late primary than you may not get to cast a vote for your party's candidate.

I am glad Obama won though as I agree with him on most issues, that and Palin was way to far to the right, McCain wouldn't have been that bad if he didn't choose her.

About the new currency from what I hear they may be changing the size of the paper money to make it more fair to blind people.

In this hypothetical game, would you support a feature that turned off all saving features once you entered walking-dead mode?

That would be acceptable in my opinion if there was an autosave made of the game before doing anything unwinnable.
It would also be  acceptable  to have the savegame flagged as unwinnable so you can't save it over a savegame that is winnable but still allow saving. (Give them some message, "the following savegame is unwinnable, but we'll let you continue to explore anyway.)

If you put dead ends in the game then once a dead end has been performed then the save function should be disabled. Or perhaps the game should autosave prior to performing the thing that caused the dead end so you can revert back to that save game. Of course having dead ends for intentionally killing important characters is understandable as you probably shouldn't go around slaughtering everybody anyway.

The sounds are represented by onomatopoeias (I think that's the word you were looking for, mkennedy) or by a character drawing attention to them. That said, it would have been nice to put sound in, but there was not time.

Yeah, thats the word. I had a vague idea of what it was, but no idea as to how to spell it. Thanks for the help.

Sounds are nice, but they shouldn't be necessary to play the game. This was a real problem for me in return to zork as I did not have a sound card when I rented the game. Personally I prefer games WITHOUT speech as they tend to vastly increase file size, as for other sound effects I would suggest putting the them in an optional file that can be downloaded separately. Another idea would be to have sound effects represented on the screen with words like Clank, Bang, Bonk, Snap, and other words, (can't remember the name for those words that are named for what they sound like).

How big is the file exactly?

It's amazing what they could do with only 16 colors. Will your remake be using the same graphics or will they be upgraded to 24 bit?

The Leisure Suit Larry games weren't all that pornographic in my opinion, (I've only played the first 4), but I agree on the 18+ rating for the games.

If you're interested I made a module to add text parser functionality to point and click games.
You can get it at:

If you have any questions about it just let me know.

Unfortunately "Broken Sword, Sleeping Dragon" would not run on my PC, The irony is though that I got that version on DVD because it was cheaper than the original compilation. Myst Uru was a 3D adventure game as I recall, though it seams there are less inventory based puzzles in the 3D adventure games that I've played so far. The first 3 Alone in the Dark games had that 2.5 d with nicely drawn backgrounds but low poly models. Number 4 stuck with the drawn backgrounds, but saw significant improvement with the models.

Good luck if you can pull it off, Will the game have a parser or will it be converted to point and click? Once I tried doing a remake of Classic Adventure using World Builder, got about 4 rooms done and then discovered my artistic talent was rather lacking.

Could you put out a light version without the voice acting for people with slow connections?
76 megabytes is rather large.

Please let me know if you want me to take this down, Francisco.

Ben Jordan 7 MUTE version - 5.07MB
BJ7 music.vox - 15.9MB

Many thanks! Downloading now! Looking forward to playing it!

Is it possible to make hotspot labeling optional? Then hard core gamers could just turn it off, but others, (like myself,) could leave it on.

What if you make the game in 320X200, but play it at 640X400 ? Will the character portraits also get scaled up or will they be kept at the original size?
