Jeez it's late - well finally I'm finished:
This is a MAGS game I made for the November competition.

Dacey in the Dark - Prelude

It's a game about fate. This chapter deals with the melancholy we cherish towards times long gone. I'm planing to release more chapters.

Honestly I don't see the point. While you may argue about the characters in CMI the BGs are some of the best Adventures have to offer. Bill Tiller is probably the artist which style did influence me. Doing a demake, while a funny idea for a few BGs would never be worth the effort.

Now it crashes when i try to click attack - something about a missing loop

I was kind of amazed by the quality of the games presentation (not so much of the dialogs), that was until it crashed when the fight started

A shame - I loved the naked gun movies.

Strange think - for some reason I was thinking about him this morning. Funny coincidence.

Thanks a lot - gives me some air

Did anyone else submit something?

The game is basically in a releasable state, I'm still asking for extension (maybe 2-3 days) to get rid of bugs add sound effect and give the possibiblity for the music to be finished
#250
yep you're right. I just cant remember which way around ^^

Don't get too excited though - it is more of a demo than an actual game. It's not even a third of what I had originally intended. But instead of rushing something in three days, I'm going to polish a little, add an extra riddle and maybe even some sound effects. I might have somebody for the soundtrack (someone awesome but it's still a secret), so I might need one or two more days.

The rest of the game will be finished in the following month(s). Unfortunately I have a lot of work lately so there's not that much time for AGS anymore.

You have to take the viewport into account
instead of:

GetWalkableAreaAt(character[6].x,character[6].y

write

GetWalkableAreaAt(GetViewportX()-character[6].x,GetViewportY()-character[6].y

As I found out this won't work when the screen it still scrolling while doing the calculations. But might be my programming

AGS Games in Production / Re: Primordia

The whole art in this game is really outstanding. There's only one thing I don't understand: Why are you going for 320 resolution? The quality is begging to be in hires IMO.

If you're into these kind of games, here's another with a bit more edge to it: http://www.molleindustria.org/everydaythesamedream/everydaythesamedream.html

Great stuff. This is art - not a game. I really loved the enactment of it. really dense and to the point.

Reminded me of another "game" that dealt with the dullness and repetitiveness of everyday life:
Desert Bus

could someone give me a mirror for this?

I was joking about the best game ever.

And I have grown up. I just really like osd and I just wanted to make one that was a little more longer then my first osd.

And if you think I still put square enix in my games just so I can hear everyones mouth then your wrong.

Let me break osd 1 and 2 down to you.

After my unfinished pmq.2 -online- dennis(he was just an added character in the game, like amber) left the ice tower in headed north just to get the shogin crystal for himself. But he failed and fell into a portal and went ino the modern time(2010) when he geets there he is supposed to fight a real big snow blob. While he is fighting the blob he is beening watched by a worker a square enix. She pretends to be hurt by the blob and asks dennis to take her back to square enix HQ in the city. She joins the party and then head to the city.

(Now let m say this just takes place before I finished nnt2 meaning this takes place before the real osd adventures)

The worker is told to study dennis and see if he can stop the snow spell over the city. When they find out that square peniks casted the spell they try asking him to stop it. Square peniks said no but told them that if dennis joins square peniks then they will end the spell but dennis told them no because they was evil and he may be working with square enix soon.

Square peniks did not like that so he asked them leave. He order his 4 villens to find dennis make him join us but don't kill him.

(I will not speak the rest of the story but I will say the ending)

At the end of the game dennis loses a fight with the blizzard titan and dies. Square peniks was not pleases to see him go so easaly so he told the worker that if I bring dennis back to life with the ocean spirit he must leave square enix and work at square peniks and leave square enix in the past.the worker says yes and then there you have it, he comes back as the Ocean spirit dennis from the  first osd rpg.

Its a lot but it proves that I did grow up. And dennis was going to work at square enix but he didn't. That is the only thing that will be in the game from square enix nothing else. Its still a short osd game. And I didn't say I want 12 -15 people I said (1+) meaning I hope I can get at least one person in that group and (1-5+) means I really want at least more then one in that group.

Icey, I want you to read this story again and ask yourself: Do I really want to play this game. Seriously does the plot make sense to you? On the other hand: the plot of any Final fantasy starting from VII didn't make made much sense either....hm...

Well, Khris, I think you were a little hard on him. At his age I'd been pretty proud of a game like OSD EP1.

Why not having a stage like this/ this stage(http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/indiana-jones-and-the-fate-of-atlantis/screenshots/gameShotId,2360/), put OSD in there, replace the gui with a chat window, hardcode the pictures of the nominees in the game (which are known beforehand). Enabeling some special moderator mode  which is accessed by a pasword, which allows to display typed text as speech and letting the moderator walk around and do animations by clicking or keypressing, changing the pictures...
If you don't have the pw you can just watch and chat.

To all OSD fans. I am working on one of the biggest parts in the OSD series. I also want to finish this by the end of the year.

Have you ever wanted to add to the OSD universe or just make a game? Well don't miss this chance because this will be the best game ever!!!

here is a list of what I need for the game & how many people we should have in a group.

- Background music  Size(1-5+)
I want to use original music for this game not music on the web.I would like to have a lot of music in this game to fit the environment, scene, or place.

- Sound effects Size(1-5+)
I would like for people to find sound effects that may fit the environment, scene, or place.

- Cut scene setup Size(1+)
I might be able to do this my self but it may be easier to show people how I would like the event to be setup so they can do it fast, better, & easy.

- world animation Size(1+)
There is some what a lot of little things that will be going on in this game that I would like to work with people on to show that the city is not really "flat" or just a picture but more of an everyday view(winter time)

- AI animation Size(1+)
Like what I said up top. There will also be people around the city who may be walking, talking, or just standing there but the still need a sort of idle view like yawing, calling someone,or waving.Or a main view like reading newspapers talking to another AI & more.

- character animation Size(1+)
The main characters of the game will have the most idle& main views.I will draw up the main characters Then draw them in game form with a list of action for there views. Then the members of this group will receive them in a pm &/or email.

- proofreaders Size(2+)
At the end of the project I would like to send the game to two people and have them read over the game and see if there is a typo.

- scripters Size(1-5+)
Scriptwriters will be need because everyone has there set knowledge on AGS and I find it necessary that we can get at least 3 people with who is good and more fond of ags then others.

- snow/rain plugin v2.02+ setup Size(1+)
It will snow all the time so I will need some one to add snow effects to the game that look some what real.

- world scripter Size(1-5+)
Like I said before there is a lot of little things that will go on in the world or in each room. But to make every thing meet right I need world scriptwriters to make every thing "come to life."

- Ai scripters
Like I said before there is a lot of little things that character will do in each room. But to make every thing meet right I need Ai scriptwriters to make every one "come to life."

- TCP/ip setup
like most OSD games, I would like to include an iphone which will have an app on it called "Chat Me"
This will allow players to chat with other players on a server.

I really want this game to go well and I know I can only get 20% far by myself doing the stuff I stated at the top. Hopefully this team thing will work  ;)

Sorry to say this, bur this yells "OVERAMBITOUS" in my ear. Anyway - I could help you with the coding.

I was trying to incorporate IRC in AGS and I have something that works (presumably) but is still very experimental. I hope it can be used combined with Duals' game chat; that would be awesome. Then if the ceremony is done at IRC folks can follow it with the game if they'd like. We'll just put the extra communication needed in a different channel.

I'll show you what I have right now:
http://shutupload.com/dl/a01c37809f2a/

It will connect to the official IRC server, though if that causes annoyance I will remove it. :P

This is awesome stuff!
Would it be possible to controll a character inside this - kind of as a moderator? That'd be awesome
