You know, I always spell it that way. And I can't figure out why. None of that in the release, I promise. Thanks for pointing that out though.

KrisMUC : I meant you're. And yeah, like that cliff on MI2. I couldn't think of a good example. I'd like it to go from looking at him in the 3rd person, to looking up there in ther first person. Maybe I can pick a starting point just above the viewable area then draw the line in to a new vanishing point. I'll update later.

Oh, and the comp was supposed to look small. I was thinking about how they always had those tiny little junky monochromatic screen in schools when I was a kid. But I made the comp itself too small too. I may need to change it though.

Frission : No no no. It's supposed to look like a hoozawatzit. Kidding. I noticed that after uploading. I'll fix the wanker can with the perspective.

OKay, this one has me stumped. The main viewing area will be at the bottom, below the railing. I want to be able to click above everything and have him look up. My problem is I want the perspective to sort of change at the top, like YOUR looking up at it. I tried to tilt the "walkway" up there, but nothing really looked right. (yep, that's supposed to be a walkway.) I'm hesitent to put anymore into the top half of this BG with the perspective possiblty changing drasticly. Other than that, I 'm reletively happy with the bottom.



Conversely, if I decided to kill the odd perspective idea, asuming the topmost walkway ascends (it does), it the perspective okay?

I hate posting something I consider unfinished up here, but I am so stumped.

...I'm wondering if HBK did, in fact, read all the rules and this is his little AGS rebellion. Do we have any enemies? He could be a plant! A one man sleeper cell that woke too soon!

First of, I like it. The colors are not what I would've picked, but I would've been wrong.

FSI : Thanks alot. I was pretty clear on most of it, but your clarifications helped a lot. I think at the price I'm gonna go for it. I wanna use it to host my Development site and my recording studio site. Having 2 domains is useful here, right? Like it'd be just the 4.99 I'm already paying, but having 2 domains would allow my to host 2 sites on there with different .coms? I'd just have to watch my space and my monthly tranfers.

I think that's right anyway. ::)

So I'm looking into getting a website going, and I'm looking at the different options available to me. So far, I like the looks of 1&1.com , but I was wondering if anyone with more experience would have a different opinion of it.
I'm looking at the HOME account


I'm not experienced AT ALL in web design or using any features listed. I know what some are, but never used any. I know RSS is associated with doing pod casts, for instance, and that interests me.

So other than that, are those useful features at that price?

Steeldrummer : Honestly? No. :) My original sketch looked a bit more like a tall leisure suit larry. Not intentionally that either, but I guess my subconscious inspiration was Leisure Suit Tintin. Also if you're actually interested in doing the music I would consider that lucky. I was planning to hound you for it anyway :) I'll PM you on that.

And to m0ds : Thanks anyway. I was quite enthusiastic about the creator of the Nelly Cootalot theme offering his talents. Looking foward to hearing all great tracks for Indy FOY WHILE playing the game  ::)

Nothing too visually absurd, like the Vortex, or aliens, but the whole setting / situation is really quite ridiculous. But it's supposed to be, so hopefully it'll come off as humorous too. When I was citing Sam and Max's style in the help wanted forum, I meant more the general graphical astetic. Which I'm working toward accomplishing myself now. Maybe. One day. ;)

I don't think I will ever be intellectually complex enough for this sort of debate. My, in my nieve little world, brain always just assumed rotten people were rotten people, and good people were good people. Religion is just a +1. A christian nut would simply be a nut without religion. But a nut none the less.

And the idea that all Christians (and I single Christians out because we really are the worst offenders) are too blinded by God to see science is silly. Any religious person that says there can't be evolution because God just made it all and that's that are short sighted, narrow minded, and a little dumb to boot. I'm a fairly well rounded, mentally stable (mostly), intelligent human being that dosn't feel the need to quote seemingly randon bits of the bible when asked a question. I just believe what I believe, because of how I feel. I didn't make a scientificly sound, conscious desicion to believe in something I KNOW sounds ridculous.

I feel like this was kind of off topic, but I've felt that way about the last couple pages of this thread. I have been reading, but I never posted an opinion because these always tend to be touchy, and everyone here seems to be pretty nice people who I could otherwise get along with. So I just wanted to chose my words wisely.

I don't know if "uptight" is a really fair word. Granted, number one seems to be considered largely the worst. All the same, I do not kiss other girls. I know if I kissed another girl, and my girl friend were ever to find out, it would really hurt her. I, therefore, want the same respect. If it's becoming impossible to use your brain in the club, leave the club, sweetheart. Or get off the X. Whichever.

I think scenario 2 is more understandable, but would hurt more too. Everyone has a crush of some sort. I think said girl should know you well enough to be a good judge on wether or not telling you about a crush is wise. At least she cares enough to be honest with you. Even if it's a bad idea, she at least WANTS to keep things level with you.

Okay. I think I fixed everything that I agreed with, OTHER THAN Tuomas' thoughts on the chair. I do see what you're saying, and I agree, but for this particular case, I'm going to leave it for the arts' sake. It will work within the context. All the same, I hadn't reallized how funny it looked by itself, so thanks for pointing it out.

Thus far I have...

1) Darkened shadows
2)Added a little desktop mess, while trying not to just add junk.
3)Added shading under the desk.
4)Lightened the chair color a tad. It looked like a big hole in the wall.
5)Fixed the shadow cast by the chair.

I didn't intend to, but I did the only two backgrounds with little or no walkable area first. Everyone was so helpful with the first, and I think I applied a lot what I picked up here.

This background is INTENTIONALLY oversized a bit, so I am aware of that. The only thing that imediately jumps out at me is the shadows, but when I went back over them they came out almost the same. Are they right and I'm just being hard on myself?

Anything else I'm oblivious to?





EDIT: Now that I look at it, I feel the need to explain the room size... It's the principal's office at the guys high school, and the principal is a little guy with big complex. I'm thinking about making his little feet hang from the chair. ;)

Though probably not the original intent, I think a who;e game with the embossed look would be kind of interesting. Sprites included.

I actually still use acid pro, and I have a full recording studio running. It's a good way to learn to, if not WRITE, at least compose (well, throw together) music. But it's a fairly powerful tool if you spend enough time with it, and get enough third party plugins. They have a trial you can download from the site.
