I'm currently doing sprites, and maybe backgrounds as well, for a game with MRollins, and I'm almost more excited about it than getting my own game done. I think the key factor is that I was looking for the oppertunity, and had been for a few weeks, and I must have read everything on the help wanted thread, as far back as june 07. I made sure that the game I offered to help with was a game I was excited about playing. And it's so much more rewarding. It seems like everytime I send him some art, he sends me an updated demo, or a new scene. I think him seeing my progress, and the other way around as well, really maintains motivation.

As far as the problem with (if I'm talking about YOU here, apologies) halfassed team members...maybe it'd help to mention being replaced on the team. Treat it like a job. You're the boss. If I was getting lazy on the project I'm on, and I was informed that I'd be replaced due only to my laziness, it'd put something of a fire uder my ass. Which can be a good thing. You'd just have to decide whether you were going to bring it up, or be a jerk.

Then again, if someone's being paid, that's different altogether. You're getting PAID TO MAKE COOL PICTURES ON YOUR COMPUTER. It's a scaled down version of everyone here's dream. Man up. Get to work.

Yeah.  ;D
I should watch those again, huh?

I actually feel pretty good about this, and after Star Wars, well, I'm a bit sensitive. But I think Indy's a hero who can get old on us and still be Indy, because he was never an "action hero"...most, if not all, of his victories are seat-of-his-pants, fling-the-whip-that-way-and-hope-for-the-best sort of victories, and that's one reason I love him... *ahem* as a friend...

And Shia can be okay sometimes. I found Roundhouse to be annoying at first in Temple of Doom, and Shia can't be worse than that.

Okay, on topic,

Core 2 duo 6600
2 gb of ram
250 / 120 / 2x 400 gb hdds
Radeon x1600 pro / 512

And a little 4 gb maxtor with all my old games and dosbox.

and off topic, just pinch...

If the swap file is only usable by the OS, wouldn't having a larger swap file still help in other duties, simply because the os wasn't as resource intensive as it would normally be? I'm very computer savvy, but I lack any actual education in computers, so I'm not so technically minded as I'd like to be in this.

I can't speak for everyone, but I totally got into game development to pick up chicks.

So it works!? Wooooo, I'm saved!

Okay, I've tried to keep everything reletively close to how you seemed to want it (subbing whatever skin color you wanted for my my own milky self), inlcluding size and simplicity. What was fixed were some small proportion problems with the body, a complete overhaul of the head, and some color change suggestions for the clothing.

I've never seen a need, especially with a charater like this, to raise the resolution for more dtail. You just have to be more picky about what features need to be seen most to get your point across.

I don't think I've given a mind blowing, inspirational image here, but hopefully it can help.

Have fun!

I stack said game up against other commercial games. See if it has the kind of features I look for when making the decision to download, or otherwise aquire, a game that costs me financially.

More than anything I have to want to play it, not just try it out.

And also, I'm a big fan of physical releases. That last bit of polish, after all files have been saved, all EXEs and READMEs zipped up, is extremely enticing to me. I can give someone money, and I will have something in my hands.
It's not a requisite, but it feels nice   :D

And the winner is, though it was verrry close indeed, Ferdinand!
[cues victory music]

And for the prize, you get a shiney new Sprite Jam thread of your own!

Yaaaay.

And a big thank you to all who showed up.
[Bows]

Off to play more assassin's creed.

I feel confidant assuming I'm not the only person that believes we are, in fact, not alone out here (being the universe, of course). But the normal malnourished grey guys don't really scare me.

I wanna see some aliens that'd make Ripley pee herself!

EDIT

Color Limts : No limits
Size Limits : Go to town, kids.

And as always, animation would be great, but not a must.

You kids have fun with those pixels now!

Thank you much, Good Sir. Hopefully something interesting'll hit me in the next few minutes, as I'm about to hit the sack!

That's the one with the FMV, right? Do you remember the subtitle for it?

EDIT: Nevermind. I decided to stop being lazy and look. The one I have is 2, I supposed.
Guardians of Destiny. I wasn't a fan. Meh.

It ISSSS him! That whole story was false! This guy hasn't been EotM in about 20 years!

Wow. I felt like I was actually helping out for a second there when I hit the question about buying this game. I'm not saying this crowd is "cheap". I'm not "cheap". But there a certain aversion I've noticed among the people here to just jumping into a purchase from someone they (or I, even) don't know, or haven't played / seen anything from. Also, anyone here will likely handle making a game THEY like for themselves. Just make your detective game, I'm sure it'll be great!

General Discussion / Re: Heath Ledger is dead.

And you cannot go anywhere with an online community without reading about "how selfish actors and hollywood types are", and "of COURSE it was an OD...all actors die for ODs". Not that I read that here, mind you, but still. If anyone read the artiles in all the papers, he had pneumonia (sp?). I've had it, it sucks, and taking normal amount of household meds can make you much, much sicker. Forget sleeping pills. It sucks, and it's so sad. I've been looking foward to the new Batman flick. It's gona be great to see Bale and Ledger onscreen together. They're two of my favorite actors in their generation, and the fact that I won't be seeing them together on film again afterwards just sucks.

I hope that it's something innocent. I'd be beyond happy to keep all this respect for him.

RIP

Sorry for the huge bump in a fairly unimportant thread, but I've been away for a while=].

So this is it, with the perspective I wanted and everything. Looks great to me, but I've been staring at it for a month or so, off and on, and it think it could be an image of a kitten by now and I'd still see it as okay.

There's some small details I'm deciding on to spruce it up some, but I'm most concerned about the perspective...will it trick the eye?

To all I say "Merry Christmas...oh, you are? Well, I still hope the 25th turns out well...oh, she is? How long did they give her? Ohhh...sorry to hear that."

...

"Well happy New Year! Get out!"
