When does our game need to be finished to be eligable?

Also, is there just the one award or is there a variety of smaller awards like best sound, graphics, story, puzzles, ect.?

Hey, can I ask you guys opinions on how long you think your first game should be?

I can somehow see this as becoming quite arduous, but possible nonetheless.  Say, wouldn't real-time combat also work... somehow?

Anyway, I think I'll leave massive coding projects to other people, I'm fine with the standard stuff.

OK, to explain some of the basic storyline for the first part of the first game:

After the introduction in which you obtain the Shoe, you then bargain with the Mafia, who have captured you, to achieve you're freedom.Ã,  Basically, you have to set up some traps to try and cause the death of a guy called Domitri.Ã,  After a few ridiculous shenanegins, the Mafia get's pissed off at your lack of ability to set up the aforementioned traps and they set you on to lesser projects...

Let's just say that heads will roll, literally.

More story updates soon.

The game is around 25% done I guess.

Err... ok... My name is unimportant, I'm 15 years old and I live in Perth, West Australia.  At the moment I'm making a series of games using AGS called the Cronicles of the shoe, which are basically one of the most ridiculous stories that I've ever heard.  After that I plan on making a game based on a story I wrote a while back called E Type.  I'm in my second last year of school.

Gunz (www.gunzonline.com) is a great online game, and it's free... for now...

I like you textures, they look pretty good.  Is it gonna have fighting in it or something?  You seem to mention bosses like they appear in action games/shooter/ect (i.e. you have to fight them). And, if so, how would combat work?

I have a rather buggy (I've already fixed most of them, but not in the distributed version) test demo of the opening working, but it doesn't even have much real content in it.Ã,  Contact me on MSN if you'd like to have a go at playing it.

Yeah, i like those pictures, I think you're certainly achievig what you're aiming to.  But you could try putting some colour in the interactive objects maybe.  A bit like the colours in Sin City.

My cutscenes for my game are using that sort of style.

The background is only red because he's been shot in the leg with a tranqilizer dart by the Mafia. Normally it's grey or black.

Basically, in The Chronicles of the shoe, you play a strange man named Jirb who is obsessed with the cereal "Bran O's".  Upon meeting a certain celebrity at the local deli and barganing to obtain his left shoe you soon must embark on a quest to return it.  Many strange characters also must aid you on your quest, such as Nerds, the Mafia and shopkeepers in duck costumes.

I intend to have it as a 3 part series eventually with each part a new playable character.

In Part 1, "Choking Hazard" you embark on a quest to find the shoe's owner, being forced into doing the mafias dirty work in the process.

Anyway, here's a screenshot of one of the cutscenes, which I'm trying to give a Sin City-esque art style to with limited colours.

But the rest of the game is fairly standard.
