I guess we could all make a wonderfull movie!

heh

I love the movie :)
I really need to watch it again to catch all the details I think, but I enjoyed it.
The thing that Keira acts piratish isn't bad, but I think they overdone it a bit. The part where she forced that guy from the East indian trading thing was great! But she shouldn't be able to sword fight that well imo.

The voodoo lady was marvellous! And the jar o' dirt too!!
Really reminded me a lot of MI 2, which ofcourse is great.

The kraken was great too! Based on old myths where octopusses would turn over ships with their tentacles.
Also davy jones based somewhat on ctulhu (thanks Nacho ;)) That's great!

I really didn't think Jack was a lot different in this part then in part 1.
I found it kind of refreshing that they didn't really team up. Everyone followed their own goal,
Spoiler
leaving jack on the ship and all.

I liked it.

Waiting for part 3Ã,  ;D

Sequels aren't always that bad, some I really like:
The Bourne Supremacy
X-Men 2
Spiderman 2
Leathal Weapon parts
American Pie

But alas, there sure are a lot of dissapointing sequels

ROAD FIGHTER!!!

Okay serious,

I like the sprite a lot!
But I think the one on the left is better.
The right one lacks lights on the rear, and I don't think it's normal that a car gives grey light...
But you probably figured that out already  ::)

I agree with buckethead that the window on the dark version looks odd

The first screen reminds me of Teen Agent somehow at the mansion :)

Which is always good!

Keep it up!

I think I like ProgZ first walk the best!

Hey Fulcrum,

That's a very nice walkcycle!

A few comments though:

The cycle when walking "up":
It looks a bit odd because the lower side of his jacket (and his butt) isn't moving, looks static, I think the jacket should 'bob' as a whole.

The cycle when walking left or right:
I think you should bring the legs more to the front and less to the back, if you understand what I mean. If not say so :)

I played it dave,

great game!

Only I think that the old fight animation looks like he's hitting a lot harder then in the new one! :)

And if you are making a deluxe version, you should make it longer!!
Because it was very fun to play!

Great game!

I thought it was better then the space episode which I didn't really like.
5das was greath though, really spooky

The parser didn't bother me at all, graphics were fine
Great storyline, and I hope m0ds will never say to me again that he's not a musician.... because he does quite well ;)

Hey Yoda Man,

I think your song is a little bit confusing. I don't really get the groove out of it.
If I were you I'd first try to think of a melody and a steady drum beat.
And maybe most important, a bassline!

I find it very hard to critic is, because I hear a guitar and some trumpets with loads of echo :)

#32
Hey Oz, sounds great!

I love your sounds! Really!
Great warm feel to it!

For my own feeling,
I'd try to give some more groove with it with the bass-guitar.
It's a bit flat at some point.
My keyboard-teacher used to say: Bass is the most important thing of reggae.

Love your music

I think it sounds pretty good. Is the opening piano arpeggio a loop? It goes off-beat from time to time. If it is a loop, you should reproduce it manually in the sequencer. I would also pan it closer to the center. The secod part of the song is really cool (voodooish... reminiscent of Le Chuck's Theme from MI). Nice organ work!

The piano isn't really an arpeggio...
well, I mean, I did play arpeggio, but I played it manually.
The reason why it sounds off-beat is because the piano loop is in 3/4 and the drums in the second part of the first part (? :P) are in 4/4. I just wanted to fool around  :=

I realise now that the drums in the first part ruin it a little perhaps.
I'll try to fiddle with that!

It reminds me of a band called "MUSE" some their stuff sounds really like that. I really liked that little solo trumpet thing at the start ;D Only thing that bugged me was the drums, they just didn't fit in well at the begining IMO.

To be dead honest, I borrowed the piano thing in the beginning a little from Muse.
I like the music these guys make!

Thanks for all the comments!
I'll post a full version sooner or later

Critics' Lounge / Music Critics on odd song
Tue 01/08/2006 09:52:26
I made this song yesterday for an intro

Fantasy Dreaming

It is far from finished and has no effects yet.
Any crits are welcome.

I'm planning to change the organ in the end, it's too busy now
also I don't like the bass in the beginning.

oh well
:)

Somehow this image looks rather familiar....

doesn't matter though.

I think the windows next to the columns don't look right.
I don't know how to explain it in proper english, but the bottom plank of the window is in front of the column and that's odd.

Also i think the car is a bit too large.
And as a last point, I think blue is a rather odd colour for a building :)
But that could be the style you are working in.

Perhaps it's blue for a special reason or anything :)

It started out pretty good.

But to be a really critic!
The reggae wasn't the best I've heard, I really liked it. But I missed the groove a little.

It's really cool that it's performed this way, col thing to do!
I think it's too bad they changed the end in hard-rock.

Okay,

Since I've left my other project, I will put my strength in this project again.
Cus and I will 'try' to make a concept demo.

Hope it will light up our fantasy again

Hey you really set the atmoshpere right.

The only thing that really bugs me are the drums.
The melody seems to be happy and peacefull as the drums are a bit brutal.

If you want the kick snare thing to stay i'd change the sounds a bit more natural... uhm like
maybe changing the snare for a woodblock and the kick for another natural 'boom'

I hope you understand what I'm saying.
The drum-kit isn't setting the atmosphere right I think
#39
Perhaps if you gave him blue eyes and leave the white away??

In Ben's edit it kinda looks like he has no eyes, no offend :)

I love this sprite!

Simplicity and sexy :)
I like that pose on the knees  :=
She reminds me of those HalfLife chicks which are so damn hard to shoot :P

The one where she holds the gun is a bit odd though, I think it's because of the leg positioning and the arm that's in the back
