I think his feet (can I call them feet?) are way to small in the position behind him.
For the rest it looks very nice!

I think adding a few frames would do wonders though!

oh yeah.... right....

So Ginny,

when are going to continue this marvellous project of ours?
Custard asked me to make more music this week! I felt rather inspired by him :)

I haven't a clue which cubase I use..

But I've heard some fancy stuff about Steinberg Nuendo... ?
Anyone familiar with that?
#46
No I was talking about the guitar skank, which is the same as the flanger-piano only on a guitar-chord setting

I know my computer is rather old (duron 700). I think I need another version of cubase or maybe another program, because the cubase I'm running atm is full of errors.

Anyway, I have a soundblaster 128 in it. But I never heard of KX drivers. I think I'll go look for them!

Thanks again!

Hey Thanks Geoff,

your a great help!

As for the phaser guitar, it's actually a piano :P
I heard it in a Bob Marley song, so I copied it.

But I could put the phaser on the guitar, so the piano will be very snappy again.
The piano and guitar are indeed opposite panned.

Maybe you could help me with this.
You see, the recording isn't running very smoothly. The music you hear is recorded directly from my synthesizer. When I record track-by-track I get a major lag.

Therefore I haven't been able to use the mixer and effects in Cubase. Everything you hear now is a one-take from my synthesizer.

Do you know a way te remove the lag without buying a very fast and new computer? :)

any crits are welcome!!
Hope you like it

Hahaha, I like this!

A lot of improvement! You'll get there eventually!!

My crits:
- She's swaying like a mad dog. Try walking sexy yourself. I'm sure you won't sway your hips like that  :=

As for her boobies. They bounce off to every corner very harsh! When walking like this boobies should smoothly bounce up and down and up and down...and....up.........and......sexy and...

Lovely!

I suggest though, to put the knife in his hand and not in his wrist.
It also looks like a huge sabre to me.

Maybe make the knife a bit smaller, it looks like the hand fits twice in the knife. Use your own 2 hands to simulate the size of the knife!

Kinda large eh? :)

For the rest, the style is great!

Hey I love your background image!
Magnificent style

To add some crit along with the rest.

I think the rail-track's perspective and position are a bit strange.
It looks like the track is very high, maybe this is the way you want it, but I suggest lowering it a bit.

Besides that, I think the width of the track starts too wide.
The track-width at the point where it vanishes in the city is like 2 pixels.

If the city is so big that a big track like that vanishes there, I'd suggest to make the track less wider at the bottom of your sprite.

When I re-read it, this post is quite hard to understand :P
Hope you get what I mean

Well let's see,

first you post a picture which looks quite good, but is perspectively wrong,
after some hints you make a lovely background of a futuristic looking office.

And then you ruin everything with that last "kiddy" background!

Let's stick to the old style!!
I like it a lot! The only suggestion I have is to fill in more black space, I'm sure your GUI won't be that big.

I love the one in the middle!

Hey thanks all!

Geoffkhan:

- what do you mean by cross-stick triplets? I don't quite get it :P
- I'll think of the timbale flam :)

About the mixing, I made a mistake during the recording session because I panned some instruments for more dynamics. The right channel is recorded correctly but the left was still set on centered, so that went wrong a litte!

As for mixing down, I didn't spend time on it yet, what you hear now is basicly a very rought 'combi' on my synthesizer. I didn't record track-by-track, just everything at once.
When I'm satisfied with the whole song, I'm going to record it track by track, after that mixing it down.
I'll be glad to send you the tracks by that time so you can give a go at it as well, cause I'm not very experienced in mixing down.

@ ProgZ:
I just changed the extension to mpg for a simple reason: The server I uploaded it didn't allow mp3 :P

I'ts actually a mp3 file.

Thanks again for all the inspiration!
You'll hear more of this! :)

Hey thanks for the comments.

About the drums,
You both are right I think! The intro is quite lame indeed. I'll try Geoffkhans idea of drums. These are indeed a bit more classic drums.

The guitar 'skank' is already in there, but I think it turned out a bit to soft. I'll put it a little louder.

I'll fiddle around with the trombone a bit.

I made this song in Cubase SX and I made a Combi on my Korg Triton with the samples pre-programmed. The final version will have all the best samples I can find in that machine. I might even use my Hammond organ too.

Thanks alot!
I'll post a new one sooner or later!

Hey Fellas,

I posted this tune in the AGS GAMES IN PROD. part....

but I might as well put it here too:
Click me

The quality is pretty poor, and the Piano is too loud imo. It happend after the mixdown  ???

Anyhoo,
what do you think? It's supposed to be looped from the point where the trombone jumps in.

Hey maybe I can help you with some music??

I made a tune so you can hear my style:
Click me

This tune is based on the picture in the first page of this topic where guybrush says: "Murray" on the very small Island!

This is a quick recording, it's quite poor quality, so don't bite me on that fact.

Oh btw, if the file won't play, try changing the extension to .mp3
I changed it to mpg, else my file server wouldn't upload... :/
