I have entried it in the contest already. And since I'm the only participant, it's kind of irrelevant.

Hm, leaving out the shaking sound wouldn't really be good, but maybe starting it later. Or making the volume lower.

And the choir. I have tried almost every instrument, but none doesn't really fit.

Critics' Lounge / Grant Me A Wish - MIDI

Hi!

Here's my Tune Contest entry named "Grant Me A Wish". Since I'm no musician or anything near or far of that, I just wondered, if some of you could give me some hints of how to improve it.

Well, and I hope that I'll have some time for my game-backgrounds, too.

Grant Me A Wish (extended)

Well, I actually DID find some spare time to finish my entry song. I hope you enjoy it.

Well, here we go.

Because the end is a bit abrupt, I'm working on an extended version. I don't have the time to complete it until next week, so this one should suffice.

Grant Me A Wish

As the title explains, I have chosen the fairy fountain theme. It doesn't quite fit (at least to My imagination), but hey! It's my first song composed on midi.

Well, I'll give my very best to enter this one. Let's hope that there's enough spare time to do it ...

Wow! The screenshots are very promising, so is the story. Can't wait to play it. Good luck with this! I just wondered, why all the characters appear to have the same height?

good-luck cheers

Well done! I'm waiting for the next part. I guess, that will be an astonishing background.

Why not? Benedict XVI won't do it much better or worse than any other pope. One thing for sure: Women won't be able to become priests, as long as he is Pontifex Maximus.

Crappy paintover?

Don't be so meek ;) That's well done. Looks like in a professional comic.

Looks good, especially the chair ;)

His legs are a bit too "round". If the feet are meant to stand on the floor, the perspective is a bit messy.  And he is very fat ;)

The eyes ... hm ... it's hard to do eys with only a few pixels. Maybe someone has more experience in sierra style characters.

That would be nice, stu, if you could do this tutorial, since I'm not sure about how to use layers right. A tutorial of what you have done, could pobably help me and other people.

Wow, that really looks great.

1. Those black comic lines that give the walls their pattern are a bit too thick.
2. What is this green spraying on the ground floor? Mold or something?

P.S. Welcome and have a good time!  :)

Nice artwork.

The first one, if I look at the color of his face and eyes, seems to be some kind of zombie pirate. If he really is, then his walk-cycle is just too normal. Remember good ol' LeChuck in Monkey Island 2? He limped with one leg, what gave him this scary touch. And secondly: Is this lump on the back head of the zombie pirate his right ear? Can't really rell in this size. But if it is, it should be placed more sidewards.

You're right, snarky. I bitched the perspectives.

I'm going to get it right, so you all can have a break in posting and commenting. The updated version will certainly come on wednesday, because I don't have much time in the next two days.

Thanks to all of you!

Hm. Seems, that no one wants to do some music.

Well then, Flippy, you're the winner of this contest.

Congratulating cheers

No, the floortiles are taken from the picture itself. Maybe they just seem out of perspective, but I'll try to improve them.

Hi!

I am currently working on a game named "shattered". Though I don't find much time to work on it, I have already done some scripting and have worked on the storyline.

But I'm quarreling with the graphics. Here are the first room and the main character:

The room isn't quite completed yet, because it's lacking details. Any ideas on how I can improve the images?

Both are built up by pixeling a photograph.

thankful cheers

Is there anybody, who wants to participate in this challenge and therefore needs more time?

Well, this game is well made and has tough riddles. But it's sometimes far away bayond any (or MY) horizon of reasoning.
