That's one lovely line art, and I think you did very well on the lighting structure.

I'm not much of an artist, but my approach would be to find some colours that would fit the mood, and apply them as a gradient on an overlay layer:


Then I would start to brush in the gradient layer and adapt it to fit the shapes and forms:


That is of course quite rough, but it would get me started.

No knife here, but in Black Mirror, there is this scene where there's an electric cable hanging from the wall, sparks coming out. I clicked it to check the response the character would give me; and the idiot just grabbed it and got electrocuted. I didn't expect him to do that, as in most modern adventures, you just would have earned a comment about your idiocy.
