This time you have to show us a setting coming straight from your

DREAMS

It's up to you to create a magical fairy world, a twisted cityscape, a dark nightmarish cavern or anything else that derives from a good or bad dream.

Restrictions: You can use any setup compatible with AGS.
Voting begins on 12.12.

Idea: Was it an original/creative interpretation of the theme?
Atmosphere: Was an interesting world created? - Did the scene evoke a feeling?
Design: How well the individual elements are designed, from clouds to doorknobs.
Composition: How well the elements are combined to create a pleasing whole, and lead the viewer to the points of interest.
Functionality: How well it would work as a background, with clearly defined entries and walkable areas, as well as a good viewing angle (this also includes introductionary shots of an area as long as a player character can be present in the scene).
Technique: How well it's rendered (within the chosen style!), in no way meaning the more elaborate the better.

I hope to see many creative entries!

cheers

Okay, didn't have much time, so this one lacks some details. Oh, what the heck.

The Ruins of Their Lives

When the flying island came, they brought war over the once peaceful land of Colosis. Their village was burnt down, all their friends and families had been killed. Their live now lay in ruins. They had to leave their old life behind them and begin a new one as vagabonds living in forests and caverns.

Yes, I have that, too. If I download too fast, Windows shuts off the LAN connection, and I don't even have wireless. I hate it. Some times it doesn't happen, and I can download freely, but other times I happens like every two minutes. ARGH!

I have the regular Windows 7 Home Premium, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Strangely, VLC sucks at playing 1080p. Do you guys use a special codec? For me, it's running laggy and stuttering all the time, but CPU and GPU should be good enough to handle it.

What baffles me is that some players just don't see the AC3 tracks anymore, even if they're definitely there.

EDIT: Ah, just found a solution. Seems I can change the audio tracks via Haali Media Splitter. Hm, shouldn't have been THAT complicated.

Okay, this topics free to rant about the new WMP 12, Windows 7 etc. :D

Hey, folks,

since I switched from Vista to 7, I encounter problems with playing HD videos (.ts-files). They ran smoothly on Windows Media Player 11, and they run smoothly on the new WMP 12, but strangely, WMP 12 doesn't recognize the different audio tracks anymore. It just says there's one, and that's it. Both VLC and mplayer seem to recognize all of the audio tracks, however they are not powerful enough to run 1080p videos smoothly. I tried the Media Player Classic, which is able to play different audio tracks, but it's very unstable and doesn't work too well. The DivX player gets the video right, but doesn't recognize the different audio tracks, too. So in the end, every player that gets the audio, doesn't get the video, and vica versa.

I tried installing all the codecs there are, but none seems to solve this issue.

Does anyone of you encounter similar problems? Any ideas on how I could solve this problem? Any other players to test? Thanks a lot!

cheers

Now that you mention it, the lower e of the dialogue font was horrible. I kept misunderstanding it as a z. The size could have also been a bit larger.

Your background never cease to amaze me. So much atmosphere.

The game itself was cool, too :D I really like the worlds you create.

Yeah, thanks. I had to think of Stephen King's book "On Writing". Could he have named it "About Writing" instead? According to your explanations, he could, so thanks :D
#551
Is there a difference between "on" and "about", as in "on writing" and "about writing"?

How many different endings are there, anyway? Just wanted to know.
#553
Okay, don't encounter the bug anymore. Thanks.

EDIT: Finished it.

It was a great experience. I love the amount of effort that went into all the backgrounds and the sequences, although some of the bgs were too washed out for my taste. The music was good, and the story well written. It must have really been a lot of work to make this game, but it was all worth it.

Seems I encountered the same bug as bicilotti. Damn! I'll try to re-install it and see if it works.

So, great game so far, but I'm stuck.

My problem:
Spoiler
I'm in the atelier. I have cut out the picture on the left, but can't open it without a tool. I have taken the jar and emptied it in the sink. But then I don't know what to do next.

Thanks!

Didn't have that problem either.

Great game so far. Good amtosphere and music!

The only way I could imagine is to filter all the guitar's frequencies, but that would certainly mean killing most of the background stuff, too. What do you need it for, anyway? I could understand if you wanted to GET RID of the background to hear just you playing guitar (but that depends on your guitar playing skills, I guess :D). But the other way around, what do you need it for? :D Perhaps there's another way ...

the placebo effect does not rally your immune system to fight that virus. It simply makes you think you feel better because you have done something about it.. it is an entirely psychological effect not a medical one.

You're right when you say that positive vibes won't get rid of a virus, but keep in mind that many people suffer from psychosomatic illnesses. In these cases, placebos can have a real medical effect.

Hm, I don't quite get it. The character just walked around for minutes and did absolutely nothing ...
