Okay, that'll be a though one, I believe. It's the 15th now, so it's voting time:

-----------------------VOTING TIME--------------------------

The voting categories are:

Idea
Atmosphere
Design
Composition
Functionality
Technique

You can find a brief description to each of them in the first post.
You don't have to vote in all the categories, if you're unsettled.
It would be great, if you commented on the backgrounds you voted for.

Voting will end in around 24 hours.

cheers

Yeah, "Dungeons & Dragons" was teh ultimate shit. Right next to it: "House of the Dead". I still wonder why Uwe Boll has chosen THIS video game to make a film of it. He should have made a film out of Pacman. That would be cool.
#823
This is the most stupidestest "game" I've ever played.

Next time, try to involve story, puzzles and some other things.
#824
Wow, zyndikate. Your bg has a great feeling and atmosphere.
#825
I've extended the compo to the 14th of March. I hope you'll find some spare time.
#826
Well, more than a week no one entered this competition. Is the topic boring? Should I change it? Should I extend the deadline or make you some coffee?

I think the texture on the left wall has a wrong angle. Otherwise your style is uncommon, but not bad. Will you leave the ceiling as it is?

And with the reference you surely mean the prism poster, that can be seen in Ben Jordans room, if I remember correctly ^^
#828
Of course I'm still interested ... I wish you good luck with making progress. Can't wait to play it ^^
#829
It was ... weird ... but somehow cool ^^

Look really cool, but IMHO the name is coming in too slow.

I turned the speech off in the Blackwell Legacy demo. I couldn't stand it. But it had speech, nonetheless.

A porno magazine appeared in my game "The House That Ate My Soul". But how about

a bar of white chocolate?
a virus?
a guitar tuner?
a memory stick?
a scarecrow's hat?
a palette?

Suburban Neighbourhood

Hi, folks!

This time your background has to be set somewhere in an suburban neighbourhood or in the neighbourhood of a small town or something. You're free in where to set your background. It could be row houses, a small store, a playground, a park, gardens, a tram stop, whatever you like. You also could have it set in the morning, afternoon, evening, night, or that time of day you appreciate most.

But your background HAS TO
- be set outside.

Your background CAN HAVE
- all the resolutions you can choose in AGS
- as much colours as you want it to have

Now let's begin the fun. I'm looking forward to see astonishing backgrounds from you.

--- Cut and paste from previous competition posts ---
Voting categories

Idea - The underlying idea to the background. Doesn't
necessarily have to coincide perfectly with the theme of the
week, just strike you as interesting/amusing/inspiring; a place
you'd really enjoy visiting within a game.

Atmosphere - How well the image manages to evoke a certain feeling or mood.

Design - How well the elements in the image are designed,
such as landscapes, buildings, decorations, clouds, doorknobs,
etc.

Composition - How well the elements in the image work
together/are positioned in relation to each other.

Functionality - How well it would work when adding sprites, i
ncluding appropriate walking distances, a good angle for
character sprites, clever walkway solutions, easily understood
exits, etc.

Technique - How well the ideas are executed in form of
rendering.

Anyone is welcome to vote, and it would be great if all
participants could provide their own. You don't have to vote
in all categories, and if provide multiple names in a category,
then please be clear about which one is your pick.

Wow, thanks. A new competition will be up soon. There were some cool backgrounds this time.
#835
What about Apprentice I Deluxe? I think it had voice acting, and not a bad one, too.
#836
Okay, here's a short one, a bit out of perspective and rushed, though.

Wow. What you've done so far is absolutely great. We'll hopefully see TFE in action soon. God luck with this project.
#838
I'm not a smoker, but it sound pretty cool.

But when posting pixel-art, you shouldn't save it as .jpg, because it will get a massive quality loss. Try saving your pics in .png.

I'm looking forward to your game. How long will it be?
#839
A very short one:
Going To Sleep

Carl Cerberos, the three-headed man, is the perfect guard of the Miltosian Library, home of the original copy of the world-famous epic "Homer, Go Home". There is no corner, no blind angle, which could be used to sneak into the giant building, as long as Carl is on duty.

23 colours of something.
