Yes - the following sequence of actions made the game crash:

* pick up coat
* use coat (getting cigarettes)
* look at coat

Here's the error:

in Global script (line 31)
from Global script (line 130)
from Global script (line 442)

Error: GetInvName: invalid inventory item specified

I also got a crash when using at the vial without opening it first:

The game says "I should open it first" and then it crashes with the same error as above, but with 342, not 442.

I have the wax key, but how do I unlock the door? Presumably I have to make a proper metal key, but how can I do that? Something do with the nail file?

Just to be clear on this: Pijin did the translation into English, and I proof-read it. A few mistakes still got through into the final game, alas (either by my oversight or Pijin's), the worst of which was that

, although none of the errors made any difference to the gameplay. I had access to the text only, and so had to do the best job I could proof-reading the text without seeing the game.

If Pijin had given me the text in the original language, then I could have translated it and provided Dr Lutz with a suitably eccentric professorial tone. As that isn't what Pijin asked me to do, that isn't what happened. My brief was to correct spelling, grammar and mistranslations, not to rewrite the script.

You say it "heavily" spoiled your enjoyment of the game, but I really hope it didn't. I think it was an improvement of the text in the Robotragedy games, and miles better than some of the semi-literate, typo-riddled, barely readable text seen in some AGS games (mentioning no names).

* When the guy who was standing outside the bingo hall goes in after you give him the ticket, the empty spot where he used to be standing asks you if you want to have some fun.

Looks like you might have a dead end in your game, unless I've missed something:

The walkthrough says you should look at the vent in the bathroom and then go back into your room to get a screwdriver.

However, if you don't do this until the morning after, you're stuck because you can't get back into your room.

One way you could fix this is to prevent the player character from leaving the room until he has picked up the necessary item (saying something like "I don't want to go out yet" or something like that if you try to leave the room before you've picked up the item you need.

I've just finished this excellent, excellent game which I loved to pieces.

I've found a bug. I'm running it again now to go through all the dialog options I didn't select when I was in prison (I got the right options fairly quickly). I just went to load a saved game and the game crashed, with the following error. Looks like this the author's error rather than one in the AGS engine.

An internal error has occured [sic]. Please note down the following information.
If the problem persists, contact Chris Jones.

Hm, I've read more than I wanted to know in the spoilers, but am stuck...

I need to buy the Saucy Sue but have no money.

I know that I need a voucher, but only because I've read about it in the spoilers. My question is not "Where can I can find it?" but "What do I need to do in the game at this point in order to find out that I need a voucher?"

Inventory: shovel, map, book, rock, quill, phrase book, tattoo, drink (Blackbeard's rum, but I can swap that for something else), cat burglar, pass, flag blueprint, iHook, rainbow scarf, moustache.

Where can I find a yellow flower or plant to use in the spell in the cave on the plateau? There doesn't seem to be one around. Should I have got one before now? Going back to an earlier game and looking round the forest, I can't see one anywhere.

Is it hidden in a bush or under a rock or log, or is it lying around in plain view?
