As is often the case, I seem to be stuck somewhere well before anyone else...

I can't catch the butterfly because I can't get the net (it's too long to carry).

I don't know how to break off the short blue pipe.

I don't know where I can find a jar or glass to get water from the river.

I don't know how to divert the river into the other channel.

I don't know where I can find blades for the turbine.

I can't open the strongbox in the storehouse.

Oh dear, I'm stuck near the beginning...

The mush is sticking to the pan and needs to be stirred. I don't know how to get past this point.

I have the chess piece, the toy covered in saliva, Puggles' bowl, the weed-on gravel and the flowers. I know that I need to put the flowers back eventually, but there seems to be something else to do before that.

Great game, loved it... just about the right level of difficulty for me at least.

My only quibble (and it's a small one) is over Simon... he's supposed to be English, but he seems to use American expressions every now and again (maybe from all the time he's spent with Ben :) ). Fair enough, because we Brits pick up a lot of American vocabulary from all the American TV we get here. However, on the morning of day 3, when Ben says "See you later", Simon says "Ta". "Ta" means "thank you", not "goodbye". Perhaps he meant to say "Ta-ta".

Anyway, like I said, a minor quibble. I'm looking forward to case 6 (and still trying to find the Easter egg in case 5!)

I found some flaws in the plot. For instance, wouldn't the Japanese already know that Fugu poisoning causes people to faint and get back up later? I read in Wiki that it's even a Japanese tradition to store the corpse next to a coffin if poisoned with Fugu. Next, how come Inspector Yoshi never does anything and he is the police chief? How come Ben said he interviewed Shinobi to Yoshi without raising suspicions? I mean, wouldn't he have to know the list of names to do that? How come Ben was not affected by the little bit of poison left over in his fugu?

Read what the chef tells Ben about the fugu. He says they leave some in when they cook it to give you the tingling sensation, but in that quantity, it is (usually) not harmful. Most toxins are only fatal when ingested in a sufficiently large quantity.

As for the rest, you could put them down to artistic licence. :D

Anyhow, back to the Easter egg...

What's this about disposing of the flowers? As soon as you take them out of the basket, they disappear from your inventory, so you can't dispose of them.

About the Easter egg...

Throw things away in the proper receptacle... 5 days of garbage.

OK, I've tried putting things I no longer need in the various trash cans that there are around the game... the one in the restroom and the one in Shinobi's, but I that doesn't work.

I tried using the toilet at the start of day 5, but I got the usual message there.

I think one of those two things will trigger the Easter egg, but the question is, when should I do them? The end of the game is too late, and the start of day 5 seems to be too early.

As far as your points,  I found that if I didn't ask all the questions that came up to ask, you dont get all the points. So you have to ask everything there is to ask for each person

I show the desk sergeant Percy's card but the game says "You don't think that offer would be appreciated." Talking to him, he only says "Good day to you, sir."

I have talked to Simon, read the newspaper and picked up the robe from the bathroom. Is there something else I need to have done?

You can't actually make it lighter, but how could you balance out some of the pressure of the water pushing down on it so that it is easier to lift?

Use the jug of air on the bowl. Some of the air will go under the bowl and push up on it from inside so that you can lift it.

Ahhh, that makes sense.  Yes, that's what I've done.  Thank you very much!

I can move the object somewhere else, which won't cause any problems, but is there any way I can make the object "always on top" or something like that?

I've just downloaded AGS and I'm working through the tutorial.

I've got three rooms so far and two of them each contain one object.  One of them is the key for which there is already a sprite, and the other is my own graphic of a wallet.

When I run the game, the key is not visible in the first room while the wallet is visible in the other room.

Here are the settings for the key:

1 object in the room
Editing object 0
Object is initially visible is ON
Image is number 2 in the sprite manager (the little key)
The baseline is set just below the key

and here are the settings for the wallet in the other room:

1 object in the room
Editing object 0
Object is initially visible is ON
Image is number 6 is the sprite manager (my own graphic)
The baseline is set just below the wallet

The settings are the same, so how come when I run the game I can see and interact with the wallet but I can't see the key?  Is there something else I might have set by mistake?  Does it have something to do with the items having the same number (I think objects are numbered from 0 in each room rather than globally)? I've tried deleting the key and recreating it and moving the baseline up and down, but it makes no difference. :-\

If I go into the classroom area and then back again to Dr O'Hagan's, then hit the up arrow key, it says "Dr. O'Hagan is looking at me expectantly.  I should do as she requested," but she is dead :)
