I think you're thinking of the United States,

No, I 'm thinking of Europe.
Personally, the only thing that would bother me about a cartoon, any cartoon, would be an uninspired caption, but again, I 'm the kind of person who thinks "If you can't make a joke of it, then it's not serious enough on its own"

And, Sinitrena, when were newspapers famous for their tactful manners if it's money and top stories involved? Cartoons sell, discussions about the cartoons sell, criticism and political manoeuvres because of the discussions about the  cartoons sell...etc

to understand that alot of western people don't take religion seriously(or look at it in another way),

Unless someone other but them criticises it. Westerners don't want religious discriminations in their schools, provided that christian symbols are omnipresent, of course. They may laugh with homemade cartoons of their local clergy, but they don't tolerate other nations drawing tehm.  I can't see any difference with the current muslim cause.
This is why I believe it is just...politics.

I don't think these cartoons have something to do with the reactions, they are only a feeble excuse which occured at the right moment for political gains and if this situation Ã, continues nobody will remember how it started but they will keep building on this new reason for tension.

As a temporary fix for Cees/ildu, you could try temporarily disabling ZoneAlarm or applications of that type and see if it fixes the load time.
Still crashes and it won't even let me delete the file or My Documents or/and Bin freeze.

Good plan. With the highest resolution possible and a detailed narration and "hotspot" description, it could be a very interesting production.

"Singing in to .NET Messenger service failed because the serivce could not be found. Please make sure that you are connected to the internet"!!!!!!

I get that when my connection status icon says "connected" but when I check it is is not. Or when I have my AV and cookies blocking at a very high level.

General Discussion / Re: Using real names
Tue 24/01/2006 17:52:13
If you want professional recognition or you need a kind of official trademark for your work it is reasonable to use your real name, either it is an AGS game or music or art or whatever you upload here or elsewhere on the internet, but if it is just a hobby with nothing professional related to it, nicknames are fine...

I'll try to skip night parties and get some much needed sleep... I'll do all my socialising tomorrow, with long time friends and other people I'll spend time with because I want to, not because I have to ...

Will we be allowed to use the same sense of humour you're using when you post about something you deeply care?

I think humour is a good thing in bad moments, it helps people endure the difficulties. I prefer it to considering the glass half empty.
Just beware of the thin line between humour and sarcasm...or humour and mockery...

Update May 17, 2006

FLE classes's been asleep for a long time now, I guess I'd better start working on it, or at least finish part I.

Thanks.

Was watching TV, a show called "Living Abroad" (or "A place at the sun"), and they had found a 4 bed house, in the middle of a forest, for 15,000 euros.

Now, look, I like playing adventure games, I like making them, but I don't like being a NPC  in a horror/mystery adventure game, ok??

it's okay to not want to write a smaller game. Write a big game. Make it the best game you can possibly make.

I dare to say that I've seen small free games that are of equal quality to the ones I pay for. If you can produce a quality big game, then it is a sin not to try. It depends on how much time you are able and willing to sacrifice for this project. If you devote more time than real life issues allow you, then the game should go commercial and then it would have to be a really good game. And there must be a reason I 'm not working in professional game development... ;)

On the other hand, this would limit game making and make it accessible only to professionals, or people with adequate professional support. Have you ever considered amateur game making as a way to use some of the brainpower and energy that would otherwise get wasted in real life?

Prancing around with all their money... acting.

Acting? They' d wish!   ::)
(A large number among them, at least).

But I don't think it's right to criticise their talent based on their character (or lack of it) when there are so many useless professionals on different jobs out there behaving the same way and some times they don't even do the minimum amount of work an actor has to do.

I can't draw! It's imposible. The idea came on me on Summer and from then up to now (that's almost half a year), I've done a GUI, which I don't really like, and the first level. But I have completed the Manual of the game

Take photos, convert them to 256 or whatever suits your game, add photos of inventory items....At least the perspective and dimensions will be correct...
