Nice game, thanks.
Spoiler
I liked the random cutscenes that happenned in the characters' imagination. I was repeatedly fooled.

If you ever make a sequel, please don't change the ending of this one, it was a success.

That's why the Ring is my vote for All-Time Scariest Movie.  Ã,

The reason I found it scary is that the heroes did all the right things that films and books say that should be done (in our case, discovering and "freeing" the spirit) and it turned out to have been the only wrong thing to do. Scary.

I prefer horror and thriller books, not films...Films usually have only special effects and no story at all...Books have a more lasting impression on me because, if well written, they have better descriptions and deeper character backgrounds.

well, since i dont have excel, i would vote game room.Ã,  ;D

...which needs more codes... :-\

Anyway,
Production update:
I have done some more backgrounds, I still haven't finished the basic word and grammar list which I absolutely need before I finish painting and I startedÃ,  scripting the first room and trying the translated version...

Stuck in scripts and moving to another house at the same time...No time for painting or scripting...I hope the new house will be inspiring...<sigh>

yeah, that is a good idea. i think you should do that.

The excel file or the game room?
(The lazy cp wants the excel, the bored cp votes for game room.)

You are lucky to have one hobby (if you combine photography and directing which can both be used in your chosen field)Ã,  not two thousand of them. The troubles start when you like many completely different things and you feel a stranger at any job you choose. I think you should proceed, but be ready to be beaten not by talent but networking. Hard work and talent are not the most important equipment you need in this job, in any job really. Just make sure you have back up plans and escape routes...
Making lots of money may not be important, but making enough of it to pay your rentÃ,  and meals(and your internet connection to keep us informed :P ) is paramount .

I'd say go on but plan carefully and keep all your other skills sharp.

I think it is because they need to sell more. A bit like clothes' fashion or songs. Expensive glossy products that are outdated by the date the next one is available and you never come back to them unless they are sold as vintage. Just like the traditional games, really.  Game industries  invest in impressive graphics,  but they make the game fairly simple to finish, so you can't replay it more than twice ...and you buy the next one.

tre bien! thats a good idea. i owuld like to play this since i want to learn french. have this beginner's book, what haven't gotten very far. a game will make it much more fun!

I hope so...It's mainly vocabulary oriented. But it won't help unless you study a lot!! :P :P
Do you think I should distribute an excel file for the test or somehow include a "page" room in the game at the end of each level? I still haven't decided on that.

I made this (dunno what to call it) logo thingy, to have in the start of my game. What do you guys think? :)
Not able to edit much on in but please give me some tips :)

I generally like it but I would think of a silvery light instead of green. It's supposed to be moonlight.

FLE classes

Not exactly an adventure game, it's more like a revision tool for beginners' french ...

Most of the graphics and loops will be "recycled" from my archives, so this game should be completed fairly quickly , to catch up with classes.

Story: 90%
Graphics: 75 %
Scripting: -55 %Ã,  :PÃ,
(can't solve the controlled translation problem - I'm thinking of using something like "French word= english word" in the translation to get rid of it)
Sound: ....no idea. I'm not thinking of music but word pronounciation. I may ask for native speakers in the help thread when (if) I finish this...

This also includes preaching of any religion."

We'd still have to define "preaching" and "stating your religious (or other) beliefs".

Thanks, I'll try it.

What do you mean? Just save the room 3 times, with 3 different numbers and change the backgrounds accordingly.

I'm not sure I understand...
Do I have to save three different rooms adding the same hotspots etc and let the player choose one of them with an " A B or C button"? Which means I will have to do it three times for each room that the previous one leads to?
#237
How can I do that?
I mean, it is the same room but three different colours for example...and I want the same reactions. If I make three separate rooms, the player can't have the same results. Or am I missing something?

Thanks

you look at the map, there are people from all OVER the place.
That;s why I proposed real places from all over the world that should be accessible via various methods (web, guides, TV etc)  for those who can't travel.

But I still can't see how this thing will remain secret, even if it starts in 10 years from now without any of the AGS forums contributors notices. Word will spread sooner or later...

I'll just keep re-planting these clues as they disappear, or maybe increase them if the activity remains zero.

Now that couldÃ,  work...Locally, of course.
Attracting a large audience, thirsty for publicity, is indeed a bad idea, they could go to a reality show instead. But there is a possibility to attract people who read too much into things and expect a real prize. Mystery hunters and puzzle lovers are more likely to join, but what about treasure hunters, for example?

I still think it is a feasible idea and I 'm kind of disappointed of the fact that you intend to keep it close to home. But you should be prepared to dedicate a lot of time and energy supervising your "map" and this may get frustrating and depressing and have you thinking about your "players"Ã,  all the time ...

Sorry if I sound pessimistic. I guess I read too muchÃ,  fiction for an amateur gamerÃ,  :(
