I guess I'll need help with music and voices at some stage.

Edit - 15 Apr 05

a) Added puzzles, rooms, some more dialogues, score is nowÃ,  20.
b) Still silent, though...
c) Haven't fixed head yet.
d) Uploaded new tester.

Edit - 10 Apr 05

a) Added a couple of puzzles in puzzleless rooms.
b) Still pulling hair re sprites.
c) Now score is 18 points , not 15.
d) Working on more puzzles and rooms, but they are not operable yet.

Didn't make much progress, just coloured rooms a bit, decided that all rooms are reachable but items aren't and updated website to contain a page on Game (as short as the game itself , though!).

:-\ I think I'd better wait and work on an ideaÃ,  and itsÃ,  possible outcome before I make a (presentable) background for it...

The Rumpus Room / Re: How did you find AGS?

I 've been playingÃ, all sorts of  pc games for years and I always try to visit their website or find related info. I must have downloaded an ags - generated game and then had a look at the page. Had nothing to do with the engine initially, I only decided to actually download it  a month ago.

"Hey Cp, tried your game but I have to admit that it was rather confusing... "
/// well, at least you din't receive error message

"the box that is your sprite's main character can glide through doors and walls (I'm not sure if that was intended)"
/// not intended, of course, just havent fixed walk behinds etc yet.

"and yet there are some rooms that are unreachable. I tried interacting with the doors, furniture/objects -- hell, I even tried chatting with them, but didn't get any results."
//// there are things you have to do first. What about the cat?

"There's quite a few things that, in my opinion, should be straightened out/fixed before you have a fairly decent demo for people to play."
//// Well, I have to admit it. But it was not quite a demo to play, but a demo of what's going on. Even the house is still empty.

////As for characters background etc, it's on the way, I'm just not the person who has a program, I always work at what I like at a certain moment. There's not even an intro or something yet.

///As for the plot, maybe it was used before (cant say I played every game_) butÃ,  the thought was original - my own thought on a Friday afternoon actually - and a joke " what if the genie was listening at the moment?"

///Oh, and the square wont remain a square and the inventory items wont keep lying on the floor to be found...

///Anyway, thanks for trying this and for your suggestions.

Hi there!

This is  my Long Expected Friday (LEF) game.
Jane comes back home after a week from hell at work and wishes she could stay on that couch for a week. Ever heard of those jokes with the deaf genie?Ã,  That's what she had. Worst part: Jess and Jack were invited for the weekend and they are stuck there with her.

If you think I forgot something about credits, please PM me and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

thanks for any feedback

I think that if she stares lower and the eyes are lower it looks more normal. I gave it a try but I'm not sure if it shows what I mean.

I generally like them all, but the third one, (view from back) looks like she could make with some butt exercise... :P

I prefer the legs that way, but I would change the arms so much. But again, it depends on what kind of security guard you need for the game.

What program are you using to make these?
Quote

The good old MS paint, basically, but  sometimes I add some details with neopaint  or gimp.

Trouble is I can;t keep the same style in every room (esp for puzzles that open up in  new rooms) , I just get carried away.

"i would recomennd making a 256 col game (althought it can be a little hard) they are smaller in size (the game)"

256 is quite a trouble , I ended up using sketch greyscale rooms to put my hotspots and stuff and get the game going... :-[

Anyway, I think I'll change the style altogether and draw sth like this (not detailed art, just checking how it;s going to look like.) Sprites are more likely to look like seeing them from above or something (I may put dots if I;m lazy enoughÃ,  ;) )

This way I may be able to use less rooms in the game and I may try hi-color.

Rooms in 256 ended up with greenish walls and creepy characters . I think I'll have to redraw all of them in 256, but I'll have to use raw colours, shades are inexistent, light blue is beige, light green is beige, light grey is beige...

Hi there

Any ideas about these? I admit they were made quickly because Iwas trying to fit in the story at the same time.

Do you think I should save a blank room with a label ,add hotspots and stuff and then add the normal room?

Hi there,

I just wanted to say "hi".
I'm new here and new to ags (using it, not playing!!).Ã,  I'm working on a game (of course) but as I'm useless in scripts and I need too muchÃ,  time with drawing things, it is likely to take ages to finish, although I have the story in my head and the first room is (kind of) working.
Well, nice to meet you all...
