So, I've dabbled around with AGS for years but never got past making a few rooms and a clumsy attempt at a walk animation. I've always wanted to return, and maybe make something without walking. So I've turned a picture of a Carnival cruise ship in dry dock with the paint stripped upside-down and added a rocket. I'm working on a story line where you play a surveyor of new alien worlds, soil samples, cataloging indigenous life an so forth...when something interesting happens, beginning the story arc. I've a few ideas, but haven't settled yet. I discovered Graphics Gale recently, and my animations are coming along much better now. My backgrounds are done collage style, incorporating a minimum of 2 separate images and then pixelized. The viewable area is 800x600 but the backgrounds scroll at a resolution of 1024x768. I'm kinda' curious about how people feel about non-drawn backgrounds. I try to source photos that aren't famous, and certainly not from other games (the petri dish full of bacteria for a planet, etc.). Anyways, here's some screenshots!

There's also a first-person view of the bridge and the engine room that I'll keep a surprise for now. I'm composing music using that Korg Synthesizer emulator for the nintendo DS. Very spacey indeed. Thanks for checking Surveyor out!
