Yeah thanks for the tip! This is kind of a weird save and restore gui. It is missing buttons such as load game and save game? Do you happen to know of know of any others?

Hey Agsers I am in need of your wisdom.
Does anyone know if there is a thread posted regarding custom save and load guis? If so where is it? I am looking around and I am seeing a lot of stuff about custom inventory but not much about custom save/restore guis.

Hey Gilbot! Thanks alot you were right the problem was the gui being in the way I just turned it off in the script before running the rest of the code. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

Hey AGSers! It's Dan here! Like usual I am in need of some help again here. I am having a strange problem  when I try to use a certain inventory item on another item. The problem is the game just freezes and waits forever. Is anyone else aware of a problem similiar? I put this in the ineraction editor in a run script/ under a conditional: if inventory item was used action

Nothing looks wrong with this but for some apparent reason everything just locks up. If anyone knows a way to fix this or has had this happen to them please let me know. So then I will know that I am not going crazy the problem does exist.

Hey!  Have you tried rebuilding the vox files? In AGS under game-rebuild vox files try clicking on that and save your game again.  Also what do you have down for your digital sound in the game setup menu? Try a different setting there it might work. I have had this same problem before so let me know if this helps you out at all?

Hey Ags forums!
I am in need of a quick solution from someone out there. I have a custom inventory setup in a game I am working on. It is not much different from the AGS default one except that it only has room for four inventory items to be shown at once. It has room for two on the top and two on the bottom. So I added two arrows on the right side of it. The arrows work by scrolling up and down so you can go through all your inventory items. My problem is I need the arrows to scroll up and down no matter what cursor is used to click on it. So if I need to use the inventory item cursor on it it will scroll down just like it would using the arrow. Oh yeah! One more thing how do you align your inventory items? I know that there is  Mine are all overlapping on top of one another?
This is what I had in my script:

That is so cool of you to go through all this trouble to help me check this out. Did the little walkthrough make any sense? It is kind of a big demo. So when the new updated version of AGS comes available I can just install it, open my game up,load room 24, save it(with the newer version) and it should work? Sounds good to me. Will the newer version fix all the rooms with this problem because I have found another room in the game recently with the same problem? Thanks again and I will keep checking back for  2.6 SP1 Final

As far as the demo I am still trying to get all the scripting and last needed animations done. I am lucky enough to have found someone who is going to help me out with the game testing. And if my luck dosen't run out I will maybe have a possible MIDI composer  to put together some kind  of game soundtrack...hopefully. Expect it to be all cheesy 80's style with some classic MIDI punk tunes as well.  Hey Erwin! I actually might have some problems with bandwith because this demo is kind of a monster. It also has a lot of sound FX in it as well. I will definitely let you know. Thanks for everyones support I appreciate it. Let me know what you think of my website!

Really! That rules! Are you a composer?  I need some decent MIDI music for the individual rooms in my game. Like a good ambient sound for the video arcade room, and for  the restaurant I need a piano playing with the ambience of people talking,( you get the idea) and so on and so forth.  I pretty much have alot of sound FX already in the game I just need someone to through the game and help me figure out where and when a sound FX would be needed. Let me know what you think and what you could do. If you are totally down to help me out when I am  finished I could send  it over Ito you. I especially want the sound and sound FX to sound all cheesy 80s style to fit the theme of the game.

Hey! Thanks for responding! Yeah the reason I have to put it in the global script is because I need this event to occur after the player uses a inventory item on another character. If I pu it in the room script I would have to put it under a repeatedly execute function...I think?I guess I could try that. I tested the gui in another room and it worked fine, the room is 500 by 240 and my games resolution is 320 by 240.
Do you think there is someway the gui gets pushed far to the left off the screen. Because the actions are taking place on the right side of the screen of the scrolling room so maybe when I call the command the gui gets pushed? Any idea on that?

I am having a little problem with a certain GUI not becoming visable in a certain room. When I call the GUIOn function in another room it works fine. The error I am having occurs in this room and everything else works except the GUI showing on the screen:

Hey! That's too funny Frank Sinatra...ouch!
Actually the title comes from a song called Razors in the night from a 1977 punk band called Blitz. The songs lyrics kind of relate to the story of my game.  I wanted to the art style heavy influenced by Malcom Mclaren with that seditonary old punk look to it. That is why I used lots of ridiculously bright colors. The demo is just about done(I am soooo close) but I definitely am going to need some help with this project. I am definitely  going to need some testers within the next couple of weeks. Anyone out there want to help me out? And I am really going need some help and ideas with the sound. I just need some decent MIDI music that will work with the theme of my  game. I need to find some good background music to set the mood for all my rooms. Currently I have over thirty rooms  so expect this to be a pretty big demo. If anyone out there is willing to help out please let me know. Thanks again for posting your comments I appreciate it and I hope you guys like it when I get it all done(and I will get it done).
